I know, she is SO blessed to have "cracked the code" so to speak, so young! If it weren't for Raelan's channel and others sharing their stories people would find it so much harder to understand recovery (or at the least great improvement) is even possible.

Really enjoyed Sky's story and her insights. I definitely can see that so many students in particular might identify or could really benefit from her perspective and healing wisdom. As a uni mum, I'm getting the impression that these issues are so prevalent amongst some. So impressed with your presentation and maturity, Sky. Love it. 👍

Hi Raelan, I’m on the path to recovery and I suddenly have found a reappearance of anxiety which I haven’t had for years. I know anxiety is the same principle of the fear response being over stimulated and it’s really getting in the way of my recovery process! Mine manifests as a tight chest pretty much all the time- hard to ignore. Have you heard of anyone having a similar experience? I’m worried all the brain retraining has triggered this push back and now I’m unsure what to do.

According to the polyvagal theory, coming out of shutdown mode can move you into anxiety before you go into parasympathetic mode. I don't know that much about it, but there are plenty of videos on it on youtube. Anger can also be something that is felt whilst moving through this state too.

I'm experiencing exactly the same thing. It's a bit unnerving isn't it.. I'm seeing it as the next layer to work through, and as the comment above says, coming out of shutdown.

Is there a single person who recovers and then just works in non related subject? It's just insane the amount of people who recover and then offer coaching, courses... I find it very very strange.

People who've recovered and moved into coaching to help others are much more likely to talk about it - opening up on KZread about life-changing illness isn't easy. I've interviewed at least 40 people on the channel who've recovered and moved on with their lives, but were brave enough to speak publicly about it. Most people just want to put it behind them.

I always find helpful recovery stories but how is it possible that all and I mean ALL the interviews are about people who now have clients and run business in recovery. I mean there’s no single interview of a normal person who recover and share his/her experience without offering counseling. There is always a conflict of interests.

We have a dozen interviews with people who have recovered and gone back to doing what they used to do - Matt Butler, Nicky Coleman, Crystal Silver, Marcus Conrad, Kato Sneyers, Jenny McGuigan, Irene Bryan... Sharing how illness unraveled your whole life on KZread is far from easy - people who've recovered and moved into coaching others are much more likely to talk about it. Also, I'm beyond grateful for ME/CFS recovery coaches; they are in the trenches doing incredible work for our community that the healthcare system has left behind.

@@RaelanAgle yes many are helpful but you know better than me that has born a new way of commerce based on this: sharing own recovery story and coaching other people. Some of these coaches never had ME/CFS, some sell their programs at crazy price or sell devices Or have no competence to be a coach. Often people recover and don’t know exactly why they recovered but they think that now they are expert to the point to sell their help to others who have another body and other processes going on. The point is: if on one side there’s no doubt that recovery stories are immensely helpful on the other side all these people who think that as they recovered now are “ expert” to the point to sell their expertise to others are very dangerous. And they can do harm .. so pay attention

I myself have had CFS and was housebound and was at a total loss on firstly, what was making me sick and secondly, what did I need to do to recover. After going to the doctors and getting nowhere before but always being told there is no cure. after years I looked at alternative ways to recover I found a talking therapy and after having sessions I fully recovered. Raelan interviewed me and I told my recovery story and have gone on to help others recover. The point I’m making is it’s amazing when you find the answers to recovery and then you become so passionate that you want to help others recover. But after the same time you need to make a living and pay your bills too. Please don’t condemn us for that ❤❤
