I don’t want to hate on Jayus in particular, there is a lot of hate, misinformation and lying about burning man 2023 on the internet so as someone who went for there first time this year here’s my side of the story: Burning man is part art festival, part music festive, part what ever it wants to be. It is HIGHLY discouraged to do rich people things like pay people to do everything for you and shit like that. Not everyone there is there to get high. For most people it is a bonus of burning man not what it is about. Onto the mud situation. It rained A LOT. and it got very muddy. Everyone respected the rule to only use the Porto-potty’s for poop, and we all peed in jugs and things like that. The Porto’s stayed mostly clean the entire time, except the mud would pile on the floor from people walking in/around, so some of the doors wouldn’t close and all the portopottys had a much higher floor. Majority did not overflow. We knew we were going to be stuck for a few days, but we all had plenty of food. The only rationing we had to do was make sure we didn’t eat only the protein and end up with a dinner of chewy bars and chips (which isn’t bad at all) when we drove out, our camp had an estimated 22 extra liters of water, so we had plenty of water the entire time. No one had Ebola. That entire rumor started when someone photoshopped messages and Tweets on Twitter (X). We were literally fine the entire time and everyone shared with each other. The gate to leave closed due to rain on Friday and reopened on Monday. We were not stuck very long. Jayus if you could take this video down to stop spreading lies that would be great 👍

As someone who used to live in Vegas, yeah, the ground is essentially clay. I'm desensitized to the emergency broadcast sound, since every time it rains there, we get flash flood warnings for multiple places. Mainly cuz when it rains, it rains HARD.

I don’t understand the hate Burning man attendees are a bunch of old hippies, mixed with leftists weirdos, outcasts, minorities, lgbqt+ etc Yet Every young person dreams of getting stampeded at a Travis Scott concert, but has never heard of one of the biggest festival-like events in history. And if they learn of it, they hate it for no reason other than the fact that between all those dirty poor folks recycling and building cool stuff from literal waste all year are a few upper class young people having a blast. Meanwhile the majority of those complaining are kids that never worked a day in their life with rich ass parents that got so few problems in life, that they have to vent their latent hatred on everyone their favorite creator despises this day.

So we have this festival where shows are played and stuff and one show was called burning man. It was about a wife who lost her husband and wanted to go to burning man with her kids. Her kids helped her and that was her goal and that show was so wacky and wholesome-

I once met actress Michelle rodriguez at a comic con and she talked to my friend and I for a while. She said Burning Man is cool and we would love it and we should go sometime. I’ll pass. I got laid off work in April, caught bronchitis in August, hurt my foot at work this month, and my family is possibly about to be homeless. So Ebola is definitely not on my 2023 bingo card.

I didn't care about Burning man, when you said a bunch of rich white men do their thing And even though I don't really care or ever want to be a part of this whole thing I feel bad for those people, being stuck, getting sick, etc. Even though this whole thing sounds like what they were going for, but times 10 more survival x I hope they can get out soon and medical attention as soon as possible

I don’t understand the hate Burning man attendees are a bunch of old hippies, mixed with leftists weirdos, outcasts, minorities, lgbqt+ etc Yet Every young person dreams of getting stampeded at a Travis Scott concert, but has never heard of one of the biggest festival-like events in history. And if they learn of it, they hate it for no reason other than the fact that between all those dirty poor folks recycling and building cool stuff from literal waste all year are a few upper class young people having a blast. Meanwhile the majority of those complaining are kids that never worked a day in their life with rich ass parents that got so few problems in life, that they have to vent their latent hatred on everyone their favorite creator despises this day.
