It's safe to say we'd all choose **The Bear** ~ Season 2 Pt. 2 Reaction

Фильм және анимация

I have never been more stressed as I was watching episode 6, then the utter WHIPLASH of joy that came from episode 7???? That's what we like to call range!! Ohhhh Carmy, sometimes he can really be his own worst enemy, but he'll learn! I love this show SO MUCHHHHH, thank goodness season 3 is coming soon.

"This is like a horror movie." Very much so. Kudos to the sound designers (I think that's what they're called), that ending sent chills frfr, and using the same sound(s) during Carmy's panic attack was lowkey unnerving.

Syd's mom dying of Lupus is scary when paired with Syd's stomach issues, and also Syd's really wanting to create something lasting, to get a Michelin star. I have a theory that I don't want to speak on but next season kinda scares me.

There's this twitter thread I read awhile back saying that Carmy and Syd were "screwing under the table" literally screwing something under the table was the form of catharsis that Carmy needed to calm him down

Jimmy did give Richie a job, and that's what they were arguing over at the kid's birthday party.

Carmy and his mom are so similar, both constantly self sabotaging, thinking they‘re undeserving of the love towards them

The scene with Mikey stepping out to buy drugs and Richie seeing that is just so good. Just shows how much he genuinely cares about Mikey and how good he is at people watching! And ahhhh, that scene with the mom is soooo frustrating too!! Like, she’s literally so narcissistic that she can’t even begin to see how many people care for her. The whole episode really just CLEARLY shows how Carmy became the person he is! And I think she could also be suffering with bipolar disorder(?), it would make so much sense. And oh my lawd, Richie had THE BEST character development out of everyone in the show! He was SO ANNOYINGGGGGG but then he literally became so lovable! Also, it’s so interesting how literally everyone else had character development except for Carmy. But it makes sense too cause everyone had somewhere to improve in in terms of cooking or serving but Carmy is literally so skilled that everything he did need to develop couldn’t be helped with a workshop! Also, Pete is literally the sweetest person! He’s so sympathetic and empathetic. Definitely the most mature person in the show LOL

Heard and resented. Richie was a bastard at first but that's the point of Forks, we see that he was bitter because while he's good with people, he never saw how that (making people happy) was noble, and it could be his purpose. Once Garrett and Jess showed him that at Ever, he did a 180 and from that point forward, he changed his attitude

Thank you for articulating my thoughts perfectly as it relates to Syd and Claire. I don't think Claire did anything wrong, Carmy just isn't in a place where he can maintain a healthy relationship and business simultaneously. I also agree thinking of Syd to claim himself down during a panic attack is sending a weird message especially in the way they conveyed the images. I would love for them to be platonic friends and partners (the whole scene of them holding the table up for each other was so beautifully shot and acted). Running a restaurant is complicated enough... no need to introduce a romantic relationship to the mix. The show runners insist that's the direction they have intended for them and I hope that remains true.

I think showrunners don’t want to spoil storylines, so they’ll make certain claims, like certain characters have a platonic relationship. It doesn’t mean that this is necessarily what will end up happening. I agree with you about Claire though.

I think Claire can be healthy for Carmy if he was in a better headspace. But I also think showing Syd and having her calm him down wasn’t due to romance either. She’s a good part of his life that isn’t tied to his past the way Claire is. Stepping away from your old life isn’t always the solution, and given Carmy’s working at his family’s old restaurant with his sister and cousin that’s definitely not an option for him, but at the same time I get wanting to have something not tied to your childhood that’s good and finding that a calming presence, and that being a good thing. So that’s why I think Syd was shown to calm him down in that panic attack even though he thought of Claire before and that didn’t calm him down.

@@robertdelossantos5844 1000% agree Syd is what calms him down. I also wonder if them showing Claire during his panic attack is Carmy imagining her trying to calm himself down or if his subconscious showing she's part of what's causing stress. Knowing deep down she's the reason he's taken his eye off the proverbial ball. I would love for a show to have a male/female relationship/partnership be shown without any romantic entanglement. Most sitcoms did a will they/won't they for drama and conflict, a show like The Bear doesn't need it.

Omg I gotta say Ilysm for loving Claire cuz I do too and I also don't get all the hate toward her!!! It's just because people ship Syd and Carmy I think but as you said too they're so good as friends and I do think they need each other but I NEED them to stay friends and just be important to each other without it getting romantic cuz we indeed almost NEVER get to see relationships like that between men & women while it's so beautiful!!!
