As a very very new mum(1mnth in) and a perfectionist/planner/scheduler with some OCD tendencies. Lorna, I will say, I honour your expectations. They are valid and don't let anyone invalidate your feelings about them. However, be open and ready for DIFFERENT to happen. I had expectations....but with the way my pregnancy went (gum bleeding, nose bleeding, nausea all thru to the end, pelvic bone dysfunction, allergies, fatigue) I gave ALL of them up....n decided on a one day at a time policy. I had a happy healthy baby at 38yrs old (so no it's not too late) n I am ok with not being able to do most of the things I expected to do. Are we alive?, that's all that counts. All the best girl n may God answer your prayer.

I had twins at 23. 😰 I didn't even want to leave the hospital cz I was scared like what do I do with these babies 😅. I had a nanny but she and I were never enough. couldn't sleep for a full hour for over a year. depression was inevitable, but I'm at a better place now. We're are now 2yrs and looking back I just can't believe I pulled it off. The expenses were and are still crazy but right now I know exactly what to do. Motherhood walai!! I could write books. I will always have a nanny cz I need soft life and me time and energy and patience to love my babies enough with a rested mind and body.

Haha, my wife used to say the same things too. We even did a water birth. Never had a live in nanny. But, none of those things are easy. Could we have done anything different? No. The journey is the journey and whatever path you choose it will still have things you hadn't expected.

This is a fallacy. The proof is in the hard data. Meta analytical data. Don’t be fooled by the anecdotal stories. Our fertility as women begins to shift significantly in our mid 30s. The better advice would be to take a proactive approach in understanding where you are personally with your individual fertility. Visit an OBGYN and get tested to know where you stand, and make decisions from there

Yeah and all we can say is how lucky you are to have nannies. Even the middle class and rich here in Germany cant affford to have a live in Nanny. There is nothing wrong in having one or two if you can afford it. Makes your life way easier and you can do other productive things as a mother and as a woman. All i can say is pay your nannies right, get them health insuarance, give them their annual days off, give them fixed working hours if possible pay them for overtime or compensate that with more free time to cover their overtime. Respect your nannies and realise what a Privileg it is to have one.

Av never commented here but today I felt a need to encourage Lorna and every woman out there... 1. I have had like the worst hair my hair grew longer, stronger and my hair line is perfect after pregnancy. 2. I didn't add no weight and my boobs didn't increase an inch. 3. My pregnancy was easy and it gave me a glow up, I didn't have pimples and my skin didn't turn dark😂 4. I slept normally, my baby wasn't crying at night. I used to wake her up to feed both day and night. 5. If all my pregnancies will favor me like that one, I can give birth to 10 kids ... All this to say, every pregnancy is unique. My mum told me to keep off human instilled fear during pregnancy and it helped.

I totally agree with working out throughout the pregnancy, i have two babies 1st baby i dint workout my body took long to recover unlike my second that i worked out till the end. Also the placenta thing you push just like the baby. Not having a living nanny is doable but tiring, having a supportive partner really comes in handy especially at night.

Almost one year in and I don't have a nanny( not live in or even day bug) and I have a conventional 9-5 job. It's possible!! Especially if you have very supportive and available family and friends that you can trust and a very supportive understanding and hands-on partner.

Nanny drama got me so stressed Hadi I am a break for a month without any. Since Jan 2021 I have had 4 live in nannies.... It can be tiring.. I am for the first time in my parenting life enjoying a nanny free house...it is quite tiring but maaaan,it is so freeing.

For sure pregnancy is not a joke. Lornzie I wish you the very best! You might shock us by getting pregnant instantly after the removal of the coil, you might not have all the weirdo changes! It can happen. Also guys, don't own issues (we do it unwares) like saying, "my hip problem is still there.. etc" Don't own it. It's not yours. It can go someday. Maybe say, "the hip problem came with my first baby.........etc" Maybe? You're welcome n I love you ladies❤️
