Child birth is one of the most underrated brushes with death! such an insightful conversation
Jules sitting there thinking about how she will just be the rich aunty 😂😂😂. Lornzie my namesake, if you have not, you should watch a show called one born every minute. It is fun!!!
As a medic, I was taught to leave my issues at the door when I come to work. If I need a break to get myself together I can take one. But I cannot give poor service to clients because of not being in the right mental space . Its better not to come to work because you can literally kill a patient. They say you pick Your issues back when you leave the floor 😂 (Sounds mean but its the truth). So the stress that covid has brought to medics isn't an excuse to give below average care. Also, the amniotic fluid shouldn't be green, if it is, then it means there is an infection or baby has pooped before delivery (Not good). It shouldn't be bloody either, it may be blood tinged but not bloody. Finally the theater is usually kept very cold as a way to control bacteria growth, hence the freezing. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your story!

As a nurse my thoughts exactly 💯Ivy don't excuse them,we take an oath as nurses to the service of our patients. No excuse that's negligence . We need to expect better of our health care 🙏

@@rlenytrendy4954 I am deeply sorry for your loss. Such an avoidable loss! 😔Words cannot suffice! 💜 We need more training and reinforcement on maternal and fetal/newborn health plus consequences for negligence. Again receive my deepest condolences.
Interesting video considering I am Kenyan living in Kenya, a woman, a mother, a nurse, and a cancer survivor. I know pain. I know happiness. Congrats on your pretty one.

YESS! Please
At times working in a public hospital,we are often overwhelmed with the work load and as medics we often forget that our patients need emotional support. We even give life changing diagnosis hurriedly since we don't have the time to just be there for that one patient. From Shiko's experience we have to learn to try to be more kind, attentive and supportive of our patients. Most of them are in so much fear and we ought to do better.

I respect all health care workers who work in public facilities who despite their heavy days try to be empathetic. One day I will tell a story of an amazing team I met in my county referral hospital and they took very good care of me to date it brings me to tears. I had heard stories but the Lord went before me. Love and light to you❤️❤️❤️

Great to see Shikie back!Congrats mama.Missed the full squad together. All of Lornzie's reactions is me,wueh! Very informative. Thanks for sharing.
I was a first time mum and I could not wait to go home. it was overwhelming and everything was different in terms of expecting help or even asking for any assistance from the nurses because they are attending to urgent matters or something. Your story makes me feel consoled . it was what it was. they were just trying their best
I have learnt quit a bit. Amazing story telling. Thanks for sharing this. Congratulations Shiko.

I'm actually crying while watching this. So much love for all mothers, mothers to be and all women who wish to be mothers and can't for one reason or another ❤❤
It was so fun to watch a video with julia quiet, not that i hate when she talks i love it!, It was interesting to see her quite and just listening....
I love this story especially because it sheds light on the birthing process for c-section mom's and especially during this pandemic season because we're still in it. Pole Shikie for the times you were alone during the process 🙏🏾 I also think the staff were not in a great mental space... aside from the risk factor, they were losing colleagues, being over worked etc but all in all I'm happy that both you and baby remained safe and healthy. The bill part... IMPORTANT! Always always check your bill before paying. I've had and seen countless of cases where things have been added to the bill that were not actually part of the hospital care service. Counter, cross check and question always.
congratulations Shikie...I'm glad you're okay ,that was such a beautiful birth story
Next topic - female hygiene before and after childbirth. How often do you wax if you do. Other methods

Lornzie😭😭😍😍..am listening to this story as passionately as you are
Watching this video i get to learn a lot how our son called hospital experience can be hell. It doesn’t matter whether it is covid time , the nurses/doctors are supposed to be always ready. I feel her when nobody could even tell where the hubby was, nurses taking their sweet time when she entered the first nurses station, after birth in that lonely room and waiting for help for one and a half hours. It is scary. We are happy you gave birth to a beautiful doll and both of you are healthy despite the craziness that you went through. Congratulations gal👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I am a nurse😊 and a mum♥️,am here watching and making comparisons of my experience as the scrub nurse😊 and as the patient😭😭.Its a whole big bubble of different feelings being on the theatre table.
Never pressed a notification so fast...... Happy new year.....
