Question for you, why does the NFL especially in playoff games, not make OT a full 10 minute quarter and whoever has the lead at the end is the winner? If no winner is decided, they can do another 10 minute sudden death quarter. That's what I would suggest.

It just doesn't sit right with me (as an Eagles fan, I have no dog in this fight) that they'd "let them play" when it comes to multiple Chiefs linemen holding while Mahomes is scrambling, but on the same play they'll flag Ossai for a bang-bang hustle play. It's a shitty way to end a conference championship game

As a Bengals fan I don’t think they cost us the game we still had opportunities to win the game but the refs definitely didn’t do us any favors…

That completely sucks for Bengals fans. The first time it happens, it's like that's dumb. The second in back-to-back plays, and fans are gonna be pissed. They need to change their signs, a whistle is one thing, but do much more to get the attention of the players. Heck, maybe just let them play. Neither team saw a problem with it, so it seemed fair to both sides.

You will never convince me they don't have refs trying to control the outcome of games. If we at home can instantly see a replay in high def slow motion and know beyond a doubt the right call, there's no reason the booth couldn't do the same thing. There's only 1 reason they wouldn't do this and that's too retain total control of outcomes.

please if the refs were trying to rig it for kc, the holding penalty that stopped kc for getting a td would not have been called, the 1st TD would have been ruled complete, that would have put the chiefs up 21-3. not to mention that kc int that was called back. refs didnt rig it for anyone

There are tons of arguments going on right now between normal people that’s seen all the plays slowed down in hd and still argue about was it grounding/ was it holding, was it roughing the passer. The 49rs game had by far twice as many wtf was you looking at calls and no one cares for some reason.

How about they kept the CLOCK Running in the Superbowl when that Cinci guy caught the 40 yarder and went out at the 3 yard line. WHY? Ah, so after KC got the ball there would be no time left. On Burrow’s grounding penalty, not only was Perine in the area, but should have gotten a roughing the passer call. Burrow was absolutely planted into the ground after he threw it with the DT full body weight on him. Mahomes didn’t get called for grounding on a very similar play either in the 4th quarter. The big punt return for KC had an egregious block in the back as well that wasn’t called.

I think it's more likely that the NFL is trying to meet their game runtime rather than that it's ever rigged for one specific team. If every play that got called and that didn't get called got reviewed the game would be 5 hours long and they could potentially lose money.

The game that convinced me the NFL officiating was corrupt, was the NFC championship game between the Redskins and the 49ers. It was late in the game and the Redskins needed to keep their drive alive for a chance at a field goal to win the game. They went to forth down three times in a row. And all three times they did not make a first down on fourth down. The officiating called a penalty against the 49ers following each of the failed fourth down conversion attempts. One player was called for holding and wasn't anywhere near the play. What was the motive for the NFL to do this? Ronald Reagan was on national television stating he wanted the Redskins to win.

I'm a Chiefs fan and this is how it must've felt to be a Patriots fan for the last 2 decades lol

Rigged, Refs missed a blantant Illegal block in the back on the Chiefs on Skyy Moore’s punt return! I've always wondered why they can't just have an official watch the damn game like we do and buzz down to the field to stop the clock for a booth interjection. @@14cole19 in this case the receiver was 6 yards down field. Burrow threw it at the ground of his offensive lineman intentionally. People need to stop saying intentions don’t matter when they clearly do on a penalty with it in the title. If it looked like he was trying to throw to the WR then they might have let it go like they did 2 times earlier in this very game. But this time they decided the back was to far down field and the ball would have had to make it past 10 legs and feet to get there. If you really think this was grounding odds are you was rooting for bengals to win for one reason or another.

It was grounding however... about 5-6 plays later Mahomes did the exact same thing with no call.. they both grounded but only ONE side got penalized for it.. that also would have killed the cheifs come back as it would have been a loss of down and they would have punted again with less than a minute less.

Mike I agree that something isn’t right with the officiating, but people are just now saying this. Last year in the AFC Championship game their were ALOT of missed calls. 1 of which was a holding call that was a touchdown for Cincinnati. Another call last year was when the chiefs won our challenge but we lost our timeout. The reason this happened was because Andy reed “called his timeout”. Everyone knows you can’t call back to back timeouts. This wouldn’t have mattered but at the end of the first half the Chiefs couldn’t stop the clock to kick a field goal, if you remember the chiefs lost by 3. I agree something isn’t right, but come on bengals. Don’t be sore losers about this. Edit: I also think that Vegas and gambling has something to do with this. Also I’m not saying it’s just my team, all teams have been screwed by the refs in the playoffs.

After all, they technically "screwed" the Raiders last year on an erroneous whistle that ended up being the difference in the game (and ultimately them going all the way to the Super Bowl). But I'm not going to claim it being rigged because we had a chance to tie the game on the last drive and came up short due to repeated shots in the foot, so I felt because of that the Bengals won fair.

Rigged, Refs missed a blantant Illegal block in the back on the Chiefs on Skyy Moore’s punt return! Game should’ve went to Ot but instead Chiefs got the ball at midfield and of course they get a game winning field goal! This is prime example of why the Nfl is losing viewership every year because people just don’t care about football anymore when you’re not allowed to play and when the refs HEAVILY influence the outcome of games now! They change the o.t rules after buffalo lost in overtime didn't nobody give a damn when it happened to us. Stop the nonsense we just won .

I wouldn’t call the DeVonta Smith call a horrific call. It happened so fast, and in real-time it looked like an amazing catch. I don’t think anyone thought it wasn’t a catch until the replay was showed in slow-mo. The fact that Smitty got up and called for a quick snap should’ve been the 49ers coach’s indication to throw the red flag. The fact that Smitty had the presence of mind to get his team to the line quick and get the snap off was the sign of an excellent player.

And we just saw how the refs handed the superbowl to the chiefs with an absurd holding call. The nfl is absolutely taking orders from Vegas at this point

The devontae catch it looked amazing. After reviews it showed it wasn't a full catch but the eagles got lined up and snapped it before anyone really had a chance to stop em. I get it's a missed call but that happens all the time, teams rush to the line and snap the ball before reviews. Can't go back a play to review stuff.

The real issue with this call was they intentionally showed the views on the stadium cam that made it look like a catch. Then 4 or 5 plays later they show the one that it is obviously not a catch. I completely understand they hurried up but when they show replays it should be the best angle to make the call for the coaches. I have a hunch that if it had been the opposite teams you would have seen that view first. Maybe not but sure seems wierd

There are many, many important games that can be looked at this way since RG took the public reign of the league. The 2003 Bucs vs. Raiders SB was the first one I experienced that appeared pretty obvious, with Raider players speaking out about it. The 2014 Seahawks vs 49ers conference championship had some terrible calls that entire game. The list is long and nasty!

The last time the 49ers played Kansas City in the super bowl the refs refused to call offensive holding which gave Patrick mahomes a huge advantage

Hey man, I agree that the Officiating was spuradic, but Offensive holding not being called was a consistency in the AFC Championship. There were multiple times on pivotal plays that the Bengals got away with holding as well, and the intentional grounding was intentional grounding

I completely agree. There have been Many important games before where KC had bad calls and nobody said anything then but now people want to change it. Just like the OT rules for Josh Allen. Nobody said this in 2018 KC VS NE in OT Mahomes never got a chance. Now everyone is crying.

I may have weighed in on this before. Number One Rule when someone is accused of rigging a game of this magnitude is to follow the Money! Patrick Mahomes is the Spokesman for State Farm Insurance. Every Commercial break during that game features Patrick Mahomes representing State Farm Insurance! Where was the Super Bowl Played? State Farm Stadium! How hard world it be to contact certain Refs and give them an envelope of cash and instructions on how to call the game? Perhaps the envelope was under the pillow in the Refs Hotel Room and he got a heads up to look under his pillow? That's my take!

I don't understand this. This was not even debatable for being a flag and he got away with another one earlier in the game. How can you cry because it was finally called?

Why is it always the NFL suspected of doing the rigging. 1-2 refs, 2-3 momentum changing calls at critical times, done.

When you go through the majority of the game with little to no flags, then they fly one way on critical drive I become very suspicious

They replayed the down because the clock started running when it shouldn’t have and thus the initial play didn’t count. Then Eli Apple clearly held the wr 😂

The same thing happened in a game last season. They counted the down and fixed the clock basic math. They have the tech they've used it that way before. This time it wouldn't have helped the team they were favoring all night. So instead the first ever 5th down.. . Sure it still resulted in a punt, it also burnt more than a min of game clock. The whole next drive playcalls for the Bengals are effected bc the limited time.

@@djbucksd Yes KC punted but they got an extra near 20 yards of field position so were able to pin Cincinnati inside the 12 which is crucial in the battle of field position in a game that close. Remember football is a game of inches. Had of they not butchered that Cincinnati would of recieved the punt and probably would of started from around the 30 yard line instead their own 12 lol.

How about the block in the back in the ravens game? Bengals shouldn't have even been in the title game if that gets called.

I'm sick and tired of QBs running around then they get a personal foul called when someone hits them. The QBs have noticed this so they start doing fake slides because they know as soon as they slide and get hit they are getting a flag. So they get a few more yards or even a first down because they know a defender cant hit them, they can only "tag" them. Either let them run and get hit/ no slides, or dont let them run at all

As a KC fan, it wasn't a good look at all. Holding happens on a regular basis, but it can't be called or not called different ways at different times..same with any penalty. Needs to be consistent. They need a sky judge with an ability to buzz the head ref. All plays should be available for review...a play in the 1st Qtr could be significantly important.

That game was oddly interesting. A lot of mistakes from the refs. Feel bad for Ossai. Not only did he set them up with a game winning FG, but on that last play when he hit mahomes, you can see Ossai’s leg bend a way your leg is not supposed to bend. It was painful just to watch

If there's anything we've learned from this 2023-2024 season it's that the refs need more training and are entirely too inconsistent and it shows in last year's games and this year's games.

You neglected to mention the 2 obvious block in the backs on the chiefs last punt return.

The official who has called more penalties on the Chiefs than any other team is the ref. They've done articles on how lopsided the games are. It's the same ref that Kelce threw a towel at 6 years ago--Cheffers. No matter what happens, no one will say the refs were for the Chiefs.

bengals D played great on 6th and 7th down. Who knew the clock operator just had to mess up to get a few extra downs.

I started thinking it was rigged when Peyton won the Super Bowl with the Broncos and retied.. Then again when Brady won with the Buccs in Florida... Then the following year the Rams won in LA shortly after becoming LA Rams again. Kind of obvious. A lot of the tackles and missed tackles look a little shady sometimes too.. Some players look like they're not even trying some times.. And it's not just because it got soft with the rules. Strange

I actually do believe now that professional football is fixed for ratings. There are just too many coincidences each year.

Remember when they let Nick Bosa get choked on 3rd & 15 in the SB? The chiefs are going to get the special treatment because their QB is the poster boy for the NFL.

Sometime you just have to say that if it looks and acts like a duck it’s a “duck”. Of course refs are controlling the game. They’ve gone on taped interviews and said as much. People are very perceptive . If the collectives minds of 20-30 millions of people throughout the word see the game, a percentage of those will be small, but if it gets this type of traction it doesn’t matter it’s true or not. If the Fans start believing it’s true, then it is true. Perception is reality.

Last year’s Super Bowl had some sketchy shady officiating as well. Multiple late calls to give LA Rams extension on their drive to go on to win it. Vegas covered the spread.

How about players purposely missing tackles, defenders CB's or safeties not looking back for the ball, defense players slowing up and jogging, magnetic gloves. A few most will not bring up.

I agree with players missing tackles and defensive players not playing the ball etc. but magnetic gloves is just goofy, that's not a thing, imo.

@@hhaste Well then how do you explain players catching wet balls in the rain? In one game, a player couldn't take his glove off and the glove stuck to the football. Look up, Ultimate Reception gloves used in games. Magnetic gloves are a thing.

Me and other 40 year Bengal fans know they will be back. Look, without that oline, it was just gonna be ugly vs eagles. We know this. Just take the loss and relax. The biggest real concern is keeping this team together this off season. Same team next year healthier will be another fun year. We’ve been bungles for so long just having winning seasons is so great! We are the most easy going fans in the nfl.

The Brock Purdy story would of been bigger bc a 7th rd last pick of the draft qb bringing a team to the SB is a better story than a hc who used to coach the team he has to play against in the SB has been done before!!! So yeah when Purdy went down a call was made.
