Going into the draft, I viewed Drake Maye as a boom or bust prospect. As a Patriots fan, I hoped the team would trade down from three to build the rest of the team before taking a quarterback. They needed so much more than just a quarterback. (Mac Jones was made the scapegoat for all the Patriots problems in 2023, but it wasn't all him. No, I'm not saying Mac was blameless, as he made his share of mistakes.) Last season the Patriots had a terrible offensive line and receivers that couldn't separate. Remember that the Patriots signed Jacoby Brissett as a free agent. He will mentor Maye and likely start at QB until Maye is ready. No reason to rush Maye into starting. The offensive line is still a huge question mark, especially since there is no left tackle on the roster. NO, Caedan Wallace (the third-round pick) is not a left tackle.

It's just time to move on from Dak. Let the season playoff. Get a wildcard win and loss in the divisional. It's best to resign Lance for a 2 year stint with Rush as the back-up. Dak is a good QB but he is not the same par as Burrow, Allen, or Mahomes. To pay 3 superstars (Micah, Lamb, and Dak) would essentially kill the Dallas Cap to where the roster with have to sacrifice pieces. I'd rather see if Lance is a solid QB and build a super team around him than have a team get nothing done dancing around Dak's contract. And before someone brings up Kirk Cousins, the Falcons threw momey at him to fix their issues. Throwing money at Dak won't solve issues it'll only create new ones. In reality they maxed out Bryant and after 3 yrs they released him. I would give him 5 yrs with a clause after 2 yrs to release him on a performance based contract. Either way Lamb or Prescott are on their way out. That lowers the cap hit to hit the free agent market or draft.
