I suggest you try the Reality creation to AUTO on the latest 4k games , it boost the resolution in a soft and smart way that only seing can describe. It's a very nice feature also on 4K Blu-ray ; with these I put the setting manually on MAX

I had an LG OLED it died and apart from the deep blacks of the OLED the X900E is very very good for an LCD panel, because it’s backlit and not edge-lit with local dimming it’s the closest tv to an OLED I have ever seen, if you can’t afford OLED get this tv 100% blacks and colours are amazing. Refresh rate beats any OLED and colours are fantastic buy it!!!

my OLED is running great its not just the black though off angle uniformity is better on OLED the motion is better, and its got even lower input lag/reduced times 4k / 4:4:4 + HDR = 21.1 ms response time on the LG C7P 4k / 4:4:4 + HDR = 34.6 ms response time ont he sony 900e LG OLED isnt perfect, no TV is...but to me its the superior model (but hey the 900E/930E) is great, and many people are loving it but im pampered by the C7P, I've owned it for 8 months...not 1 issue

I was able to run 4K at 60hz from my MacBook Pro on both my Sony X800D and Sony X900E!

only HDMI ports 2 and 3 support the higher bit rates

Just picked this up 65 inch for the living room.

Another question, i would like to explain how much good its hdr is in game mode. I think the colours lose intensity. We can see that in Battlefront 2. The colours without hdr are amazing although the brightness is very high. I don't understand why. Maybe it is because of the special game mode configurated in this set. Rtings.com rated its hdr gaming as 8.1 (lower) in comparision with other analogous brigh tv's.

It’s important to get a USB-C HDMI converter cable that supports 4K 60hz, Anker makes one. Are you sure you were running a car converter cable that supports 4K at 60hz and a 4K high speed cable? I had to upgrade my cables to get this working on my MacBook Pro 17’ at 4K 60hz. There’s also a command you have to run to enable this also. Majority of the converters only run 4K @ 30hz.

first you should use the Game Mode for your consoles. (cause of input lag aso) and setup a picture you like in first place.

Make sure you go into the main menu settings (within the OS itself not where the picture settings are) and allow 4K high speed

Hello, I bought this tv six months ago and I can say it is not bad for gaming. To be honest when you are a very competitive gamer there is no tv like a monitor. I have got use to play with it and it is not bad. Also i think it has a good advantage, it can play videogames in 120fps without artifacts in its image with only 16 ms imput lag. I have read that people have been able to play videogames 2k 120 fps and it is probable the tv recognize the 4k signal in 120 fps when pc's or consoles is ready to give us that quality in a few years. There are no tvs apart from vizio tvs and this that can do that.The motion is very good but there is a bit of blur if you compare with Sony W905a from some years ago. I think is a good investment.

Obed Blas, In my opinion, the two most important things to play are the input lag and the response time of the pixel in va or ips panels. I don't think the x930e panel is ips. It is a va panel too :). As for the x930e, several analists rated the response time of its pixel worse than the one of the x900e. In relation to the imput lag, they say it is lower for 4k input (about 25 ms) and higher for 1080p resolution (about 40 ms) in the case of the x930e. The decision is very personal. For example, i hate the blur so i prefer as fast response times as possible in a tv or monitor for gaming although the input lag is not the best. For me, the response time of Sony x900e is not perfect because it shows blur but it is one of the best of the last year. It is also important when you talk about response time if you prefer some of the overshooting or a bit blur but always low response times. You can see different technical analisis of tvs on the internet or go to a store to see its motion in game mode. If it is useful for you, The Rtings.com analisis helped me to decide.

It is very cheap compared to Europe. I have X800D 43" and it cost more. For XOX and PS4 PRO is a good TV.

$900 for a x900e compared to a £949 x900e in the UK, that says something, probably UK has a better version of sony's tv's

FXRain Its the same tv electronics are just more expensive here. Most tvs cost around $500-$700 more.

The input lag throws me off. I just got the 55 inch on bf. For shooters i rather play on my asus mg28uq but otherwise im still very satisfied with and my new Xb1x.

Agreed, make sure you're in game mode where the TV isn't adding a ton of extra processing.

what kind of blur? dont see a difference between this TV and other good LCD´s in terms of blur on this TV. also most people can differenciate the games motion Blur with TV settings motion blur or a blur from the Panels companys uses.

NeoOneThere, kind of blur? I'm sorry. I don't understand well your comment about the most people and blur. I can say that it shows noticeable blur although this tv is one of the best tv's in terms of response time of the last year. Really, there are lcd's much worse last year with the motion and blur but there were also lcd's with less blur in the past. For example, the Sony W905a from 2013 with no noticeable blur. I bought it then and it is amazing.

And today a 4K 120hz monitor is still almost $2,000. And may I ask why you want 120hz for your MacBook Pro? Obviously you aren’t gaming with it. 120hz for photo editing lol

900e is the best bang for your buck picture quality wise but the samsung and lg series of tv are better for gaiming

not sure if you own a 900e set or not, but picture quality blows the Samsung out of the water, yes the lag is a little higher but not noticeable unless you are a true competitive player. LG LED tv's are rubbish this and last year, apart from Oled and they have their own swag of issues. I have the 900e, have been dealing with AV and gaming for over 20 years and it takes alot for me to part with my money until I'm sure. This tv is by far the best picture quality outside of Oled and has the best motion of anything on the market at present. Don't read into the plethora of reviews, calibrate one yourself and you will be amazed my man.

Apologies my man. 930e jas great upscaling and is a bit of a light cannon. Biggest reason i didnt ger that one is the positioning od the leds can affect motion sometimes plus give nad blooming. Wait til next year though, had a few rumours on Samsung for 2018. Could be very interesting
