Sony X900E 4K LED UHD TV - Hands On Review

bit.ly/DTKZreadSub
In a market flooded by feature-rich 4K TVs, the Sony X900E still manages to stand out. Since Sony broke out the power supply into an external power brick, the profile of the Sony X900E is thin. There's still a little bump out in the back -- much like you'll find on many TVs -- but expect a clean look when wall mounting.
The black matte bezel is thin, at about a half inch, and the stand is only 20 inches wide, which should make the X900E easy to set up in any entertainment center. Factor in the stand's built-in cable management, and you have yourself a great looking TV.
Keep the viewing angle in mind when placing the X900E. The picture is great, but if viewed too far off angle from the "sweet spot" of dead center, the picture will wash out. Make sure your TV and seating arrangement are angled for the best possible picture.
Ultimately, the Sony X900E 4K LED UHD TV is an outstanding television and will be perfect for someone who is looking for premium image quality, but don't want to pay a premium price for features that don't add to the viewing experience.

Update. 2 and a half years of ownership and my x900e is still going strong and wouldnt replace it for anything out there today as far as tvs go. You can have OLED, you can have 8K, you can have QLED. I'll stick with my x900e.

Decided two years ago to get a 49 inch x900e as a computer monitor. Took a bit to get used to, but it is still going strong. Especially considering how long it is taking for monitors to catch up (black levels, HDR, color, etc etc). Another reason why I am glad I got it, a lot of the LCD's have taken steps backwards (zones, contrast, etc). One of the best buys I have ever made.

The input lag is around 30ms with game mode on

I found someone selling one of these online for a good price. The TV doesn't have HDR10+ or Dolby Vision. How big of a deal is that? My current TV is 1080p, so I haven't really experienced all this HDR stuff enough to know whether it's worth it to get a different TV just for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It's a shame Sony won't (or can't?) update the TV's software to add it.

furballbear you are so full of shit, I work in a retail store and sell both of these models and the Sony mops the floor with that junk ass Samsung. The Sony has full array backlighting, better color range and is brighter. It's absolutely no contest. Look on BestBuy. Com and see the amount of user reviews on each model and you will see that the Sony x900e is out selling every Samsung TV on the market.

So after seeing a ton of reviews calling this the best t.v of 2017 that is under $1000 I bought it a few days ago. And the picture is amazing. But i am not happy right now. I cut the cord a few months back and signed up for hulu live. I use a firestick to stream it, but yesterday there was a update and now hulu live is having trouble playing on firesticks. (According to hulu) well that should be no big deal. I should be able to log in and watch through my a awesome New Sony x900e smart t.v right? WRONG!!! Sony will not allow the live app on its products because of their live streaming service PlayStation vue. This is bullcrap. I just paid $856.00 for this t.v wed June 6th. And my only source of live television ( NBA finals) is Hulu live i can't get in it. I can on my Samsung smart tv upstairs. But down in my man cave in my sony i cant. Very disappointed

The Blue ray player I am getting has the DV feature. I went to the Sony showroom today and the sales rep were convincing me to go with X930. I personally dint find huge difference in picture quality though. These TV are both highly priced in our region .However I am going with 90E now. Better value for price wins over minor features that I may not even use .

Unfortunately still not as good as my Samsung 64" F8500. Just bought the 65" X900E with the hope since its FALD it'd give my plasma a run for its money black levels motion etc. But it really doesnt. It performs great/better then my F8500 but only in 4k content... Also, the F8500 is just visually more appealing to watch. Unless its 4k but even when my X900E is dialed in, in Cinema Home or Pro colors are popping super bright the Plasma still looks better. I'm not at all impressed with motion on this set either. I feel like my Sony X930D did better with motion then my X900E. If you are a plasma guy the only direction to go is OLED. Yet I wont buy one bc they are still outrageously priced.

I just bought the X900E at BestBuy I'll be receiving it in 2 weeks. Here's my concern, the new software update's seem to be giving many users trouble! TV's are bricking and blocking a couple of key settings like gaming mode etc. I've been checking out professional calibrators on how to optimize the picture settings for various situations. If there's no update that correct these huge problems within 2 weeks I will cancel my this order! Checkout Quantum Apotheosis kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z62dvKaAgNTTaLA.html

That dude is all over the place with his reviews. I don't care about the gaming aspect of it but I just got a replacement 65x900e as my last one the live colour option wasn't working. This one I got today is great, the viewing angles are pretty damn good eith jist a little loss of colour but you can still watch no problem from a sharp angle. I had the x930d which was brutal in a slight angle and this tv bloes it away. I would say this tv is pretty close to a plasma but the colours are great with the fald and the blacks are black. Remember the source of what ever you watch has alot to do with performance. It's always different. It is a great tv I think.

Read this review before buying. I purchased SONY XBR-55X900E about 3 years ago. Biggest POS for a TV I've ever owned. Great when new but didn't hold up. After about a year and half it developed a line close to the top. Than about 6 months ago the channel programing developed an issue where it won't save channels unless right after learning the channels I have to turn it off and back on so the new learned channels will be saved. Now it just dropped the frequencies for channels between 9.3 and 11's. I have the signal as checked but for some reason this POS won't pick them up any more. I'll answer question but stay away from this POS. Lots of great reviews from owners of a new TV but the truth is in how they hold up. DO NOT BUY THIS POS. Sony XBR.
