I found a wii homebrew tool called "playstats" that could be used to you. It could be put on a sd card to be put in any homebrewed wii you find. This tool can see the last time any wii game was played. This would be more accurate than the message board that only shows the envelope on the calendar if you not a message from a game. This app can show the last game the game was booted up. Thought this might be useful, can go into more depth and even send a video showing how it works if you want.

Fortune street is such a wacky find, the game itself is pretty unexpected of a crossover as it's between Mario and Final Fantasy and the gameplay revolves around buying stocks, trading stocks, owning houses, etc. It's basically Monopoly on crack, and I believe the Wii game is the only localized version since it's mostly released in Japan.

Thank you. There is zero reason to throw things away just because the battery corroded. The controllers are still very, very easily repairable in most cases.

Said this to another comment, but unfortunately there is 0 reason for me to keep extremely corroded controllers, especially Wii controllers. I probably have over 100 Wii controllers laying around, and I can’t give away the bad condition ones for free. Trust me, I’ve tried. And it’s not worth my time to even spend 10 minutes trying to get a $10 Wii remote to work. Especially when there’s a good chance I clean it up and it still doesn’t work. I’ve been through this scenario many times. There are so many better things that myself and my employees can be doing with our time than trying to clean up a corroded Wii remote. I hate throwing stuff away too, but there’s literally no other choice for some things.

11:39 It's not so tragic, those HDDs are just regular old 2.5" drives inside a fancy shell. Those are the same ones used in laptops, ps3s, ps4s the xbox one lineup and more. You can open up a 360 drive enclosure and swap out the actual HDD, since they are standard drives. That goes for the slim 360s too, with those you can carefully plug a loose drive in those and it will work.

A little white vinegar on a qtip fixes that battery corrosion very easily if it hasn't been there too long

I know it's usually not worth the effort, but corrosion like the 2nd controller is actually pretty easy to fix. a little vinegar or lemon juice on a cotton swab can remove corrosion like magic.

Found yet another 360 at Goodwill Wednesday but this time it was a Xenon and i couldnt test it because the power supply wasnt there and i had a feeling it might red ring on me

Check capacitors in the logic board of any dvd/cd based console that can't read disks before going for the laser assembly itself, most of the times its capacitors dying that cause these systems to stop reading games, especially US consoles that never got modded and ran crappy bootleg games (mainly a problem in brazil)

All you have to do is use regular distilled white vinegar and it eats the corrosion right out of the controller in literally 20 seconds. Just wipe away, and it's all good. I accidentally left batteries in my OG Wavebird controller, and I was devastated b/c it wouldn't turn on or anything. 2 Q-Tips of vinegar and 3 minutes later, I had a new set of batteries in and playing Metroid Prime again. That was 3 months ago, and it has worked flawlessly ever since.

NXE is probably my favorite 360 dashboard

man if you have a bunch of corroded wii controllers dont throw them away! they can be cleaned and restored.. Well not always but i have about an 80% chance of them working when i restore them. Helps keeps good controllers in the wild and not in a landfill!!!

11:14 the hard drive might be okay. The console might've just freaked out from removing the other hard drive while it was on. Doing that results in E74 with the one red ring, and from personal experience, swapping hard drives again or turning it on with no hard drive fixes it, so yeah I think that's what happened here
