Ғылым және технология
Building skins for my Avengers Age of Ultron Inspired Hulkbuster Suit, using various sheet materials and 3D printed parts. This time I'm doing some painting a weathering for the foam armour parts.
In this series, I build a complete Iron Man Hulkbuster cosplay with animatronics and mechatronics with a step-by-step guide to cover everything you’ll need to build your very own suit. From 3D printing the parts to installing the mechanics that make this whole suit wearable and actually able to walk around.

i really CANT WAIT to see more panels being done! Looks awesome already!
That weathering and wear completely changes the aesthetics of the suit. It's actually incredibly impressive how much of a difference you've made just from tactical brush marks and scuffs. Looks absolutely incredible!
INCREDIBLE. It's finally getting skins on!
The weathering helped so much on the front panels! It's beginning to take shape and it looks amazing
James, in my life yet have i ever encountered such an amazing project. Amazing work you have attained in 29 episodes; Keep Up the Good Work!!!
The weathering effects on this are really gonna make this suit! 👍🏻
this project keeps getting better and better
I am sitting here with my mouth wide open. This is amazing James! Just awe inspiring. I can not wait until you can take the suit to conventions!
I didn't realize that I was getting bored with the structural pieces until you started working on the detail. Its amazing how a change of pace can make it feel like a completely new project. I really liked the format of the episode. As always, keep up the good work!
I really like the weathering/ battle scars. The chest plate looks really good like that too. That was a really nice touch.
THIS THING LITERALY LOOKS AWESOME!
An inspired evolution of your video format with the various elements all combined - fantastic. Your weathering paint job looks great.
Good move weathering it. Makes it look heaps better. Can't wait to see it finished.
I guess we'll never know just how good you are at this.
I actually really love the Chestplate! I was sceptical about the battle damage at first but seeing it all done makes it look even better than it did before!
Starting to look really impressive now. Great job, James!
cant wait til the finished product!!! Looks amazing!
For your first try at "detail" painting, this is amazing. It looks incredible :D
It's starting to really come along nicely! I really like the bicep vents and the weathered panels

The result looks amazing!
You make some of my favorite costumes! You inspired me to make my own and pick up a new hobby. Thank you!
Really like the idea of chamfers to change the angle of the LEDs.
The biceps look sooooo good! Keep it up James!
James you have no clue how impressed I am! My 9th grade art teacher couldn't do this
Can't wait to see the whole set !
this is going to look amazing when its finished
Mate, that is bloody brilliant!!!
Wow have been watching this project since day 1, after seeing the bicep pieces being put in this thing is really coming together well done ***** 👏👏👏
The biceps looks awesome. For the EVA foam parts I recommend barge cement instead of hot glue, the seam is less visible and they stick better together. There are interesting Tutorials on how to work with EVA foam which helped me a lot. Especially the videos of Evil Ted Smith I can highly recommend.
I love this type of episode! I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done! keep up the good work!
Looking very nice! Nice work on the paint job.
its looking so much better!!! love it
AWESOME Episode James !!!!
Fantastic job James!
Loving this kind of video more than all the structural sorts , really inspiring. I do feel as though on the biceps that the dry brush was applied to weltly and I'd recommend wiping your brush on a paper towel until you can no longer see thw silver and then the application looks more naturally weathered.
Looking Awesome James!
Thats looks so Awesome. Great job James
Starting to look really good!
You are genius James!
James don't be to critical with yourself. The painting looks great for the first time. Thanks for the great videos. And an extra Thank you for the idea with the aluminum foil ;) great idea!
Finally this needed some awesome detail!
weathering looked good
Can't wait for the next episode
This is looking so badass!
OMG James that looks really good like really good
Great job, I enjoy watching these video. Hey here's a tip. Get a exto-knife or soldering iron, heat them up and carve scratches into the parts. More realistic with the scratch paint. Detail is everything.
paint job looks great!
Nice paint work, James! I know from experience that once you get a nice even coat of clean paint on something, the idea of muddying it up with brown, black and silver can seem scary and a bit counterproductive. And while you're weathering, everything you do looks fake and wrong. But when you see it all assembled, the look really comes together and brings everything to life. You'll only get better with practice. You should do a side video and practice weathering techniques on your Mark IV suit. Make it look like you just fought off a hundred Hammer Drones!
Yay for dirty hulk buster!
i've watched the whole series (i subscribed before you started thid.) and sometimes lost my hope that this will turn out well, especially when the avengers (2) age of ultron trailer came out. but since you did this wheatering paint job, DUDE! it just looks awesome! cant wait to see the finished product!
Wow this is really gonna look great from the part 1 till now ive watched this and i enjoyed it a lot hope to see this badass armor to be finished
Already waiting for the next part! C:
James this monster is looking awesome! Great job on the bicep pieces, they look like some badass pieces off some futuristic motorcycle/car/jet or something until they get put on the machine. Very cool. I wish the UK would have their own heroes of cosplay show and put you on it, but even if they did yours are so ambitious it probably wouldnt work in a weekly format.. Still nice to dream about a show with people using 3d printers to make badass props/costumes like this.
Much better than a skeleton plastic! :D
Looking amazing!!
7:45 "you don't want to overdo it too much" but *overdoing* it a little is okay; LOL
Painting afficionado I am not, but I am very impressed with that paint job, yet I must insist on you following up this episode of the hulkbuster for NEXT WEEKS episode, please because the sooner this is completed the better. It's a must watch of a project series.
It looks amazing always look forward towards to your videos
Looking really good!
Paint looks great, excited to see more detail coming into the suit! I've seen most cosplay armor makes use a bit stiffer bristley brush and push, or stiple (stipple?), the paint on for a more scratchy and not-brushed look. Might work to tone down some of the shiny bits. But a well worn, battle damaged suit is definitely cooler :) great job so far, keep it up!
a masterpiece i like that look so far...each episode is a highlight for me..keep it up
Also about drybrush. Before painting, rub from your brush some colour. Only then you can apply drybrush for the surface. Also, you might buy some metallics for drybrush.
The new paint job adds a lot, now i like the chest plate a lot more. You should consider to watch some of the Harrison Krix job (also know as volpin props), he uploaded some videos doing weathering and now he's selling an e-book about painting, it hink it would help you a lot with the scrapped metal. Keep doing, i hope you can complete it soon.
Looking much better with the skins going on, pretty nice job with the weathering, but be careful not to weather too much or it may look silly... One way to weather is to put 2 layers of paint on in different colours, then scrape or scratch or sand the top layer to reveal the base layer, the base layer should be a heavy layer several coats thick, as you don't want to scrape off too much and end up down to the plastic.
Ugh its so cool!! Great job!! :)
I love it man keep it coming!
Groovey!!!
I'd suggest picking up the painting and weathering e-book from Volpin props. I got my hands on it recently, and it has a ton of information and tricks for weathering, chipped paint, brushed metal finishes. Looking great though, loving the mix of 3d printing, eva, and sintra techniques.
You work is awesome bro u r the best just can't wait to see the completed suit done...son of a gun
***** James this project will blow all cosplayers minds it looks awesome and its getting better and better...I Watched this hulkbuster series since episode 1 and you made some major improvements keep up the good work
omg. For that paint job you need to be hired by holywood!
I think light blue LEDs would look better, looks great!
You should make some like some bullet hold effects on the front plate of it
Shine on, shine off! :)
I think it looks Great!
It look so incredible awsome.. good work.. keep build greets
James if you want to dry brush dip your brush in any paint , wipe on a cloth till not much excess comes from the brush then scrape on edges and surface, trust me that works and I make customs so I know what im doing
Can't wait for the next one.. nice videoooo
Hey there James, I, like many of the commenters here, have been following your work for quite some time. I like the direction you're going with the suit, but have a couple tips and critiques: It's really easy to over-do weathering how you've chosen to do it. I would recommend instead of using streaking motions, take a small, flat brush and use blotting motions to create chipped paint sections. In general, the type of weathering you're doing shows up on things like railings. Things that get brushed and rubbed a lot. Also, think of where these things would realistically receive the most damage. Under the shoulder bells for example, would be mostly clean, as that's a protected area. Finally, make sure to take a step back often when you're weathering. You get very wrapped up in what you're doing and focus on the small areas you're weathering instead of the look of the suit in general. So. Think of how things are getting weathered, think of where things are getting weathered, and think of the entire suit and how a little bit of weathering goes a long way. Cheers!
Don't you love when you get an ad that matches the video you're watching?
wow... brilliant!!
Wow James, at first I thought you messed the whole thing up by adding the colors and shading and adding "artificial reflections" and stuff but gosh, it looks pretty dm good. I love it keep up the good work. I've been watching you forever now and I love the way you put your own spin on things. If it's not too much to ask could I get a shout out on the next episode you do, like episode 23 or 24 or something? That would be awesome. And as a thank you I'll keep spreading the word about you.
when dry brushing, you might want to try wiping off more of the paint and brushing lightly when you make the scratches. Great job!
