Need part 2 of this one 👍🏼
Best 24 minutes spent for the day
I decided to get fit last year, I took a PT and the strength training part is sorted out but I was never satisfied by his nutrition plan (I don't blame him for not being a nutritional expert). I do my own strength training and started my own research and at first it became overwhelming. Just like JC said, I don't know whom to trust especially fitness influencing community. I then went to studying books about nutrition but I selected one which is science based. The author cited a lot of research papers which started me on a rabbit hole of studying research papers. I am getting a hang of how to interpret most of it but I still don't know many things. I feel like this video series from JC is blessing from the cosmos. Thank you JC, for creating this content. You are providing invaluable service to fitness community. Look forward to rest of the series. You have my utmost gratitude.

So if I want to sell my pill anyhow ... I can manipulate the data obtained from randomised trial. In that case if it's published how ll u ensure the credibility of the data...and who checks that if the results are reproducible or not

That is why he said he mentioned some of the credibility factors 1. Conflict of interest: This is usually listed at the bottom of research paper. If the company selling the pill is funding the research, there is conflict of interest. Funding is also generally mentioned. 2. Impact score: If done by reputed researchers. Basically relying on credibility of researchers. Like JC said, works generally but not every time. 3. Reputed journals: Is your research published in reputed journal? 4. Number of RCT's on same pill: Your reason is exactly why you shouldn't get excited about just one RCT. JC gave example that he only suggests supplements with a common theme among 100 RCTs. 5. Peer and Meta review: Is the research peer or meta reviewed? Long story short, wait for more research to be done on your pill. Don't inform yourself on single or short number of studies.
