1) Yes we can! Mindset 2) Problem first, not product. 3) Think narrow, not broad. 4) Ask for cash, ride the float. 5) Beg, borrow (but never steal) 6) Instead of asking permission, ask for forgiveness.

Be the person who breaks the cycle. If you were judged, choose understanding. If you were rejected, choose acceptance. If you were shamed, choose compassion. Be the person you needed when you were hurting, not the person who hurt you. Vow to be better than what broke you-to heal instead of becoming bitter so you can act from your heart, not your pain.

There's no way that a single event could define our entire life. We're just humans making our way in the world. Trying to be better. Trying to make it better.
Once you decide you're not going to allow your fears and insecurities control your life, you are free to try do anything you want with it. Walk towards your dreams.
Wow! So simplified. I had stuck on some project. I'm going to use it for my next meeting with my startup partners. Thanks John and TED.
We are mistaken if we have a lifestyle guided by either/or logic. We think either we must conquer the challenge before us or we will be failures. We think either our loved ones must meet our needs or they do not love us. We think either we must be perfect or we are unacceptable. Often life’s answers exist in the in-betweens.
You are truly amazing John. You compiled them shortly and briefly. Million thanks and will keep them, improve them, and continue learning.

Always think I can do it ..Change your mindset can change each and everything in your surroundings. Think narrow not board in business mean focused on your target audience. Look at the cash flow and investment. Never cheat.
Whatsapp is another example of a really disruptive enterprise. If they have asked for permission, they would have got a resounding no. Excellent talk 👍
❤ I believe this is the greatest gift we can give each other as human beings, this sacred field of unconditional friendship where we allow each other to be imperfect. It is the space in which we give up trying to fix each other and instead listen with our entire being. It is the space in which true relaxation can happen, where the frazzled nervous system can breathe a sigh of relief… -Matt Licata❤️

Informative and inspiring talk! The "Ask for the Cash, Ride the Float" mindset, along with the Elon Musk & Tesla example, resonates the most with me. Just important to get paid as early as possible as an entrepreneur. I took detailed video notes✍on this video on my website in case you are interested.

That last tip really makes big money for AI companies for stealing
It's a logical fallacy to believe some one off success story constitutes a rule. It doesn't. What worked once for someone may not work for you. You can only invent a bulb once.
Believe in your ideas and follow them and you will achieve your goals.
Theory is very easy but practical is way harder then theory lectures
🥰
you now that is something impressive rather than other ted talks
🙏
👏👏👏👏
When is it over this video take long To sum up one word 🤣🤣 in a phrase or sentence lol to simplified format we get! One hour crammed into 1-2 minutes😱
The last tip I think is partially incorrect. 14:31 I mean... thinking ethically. Uber has done many bad things, and I think sexual misconduct is a terrible example. Think big, but better.
👍👍
👍🏻
Care,, but it gets a lil easssier
This guy has the Coca-Cola story all wrong. It was a problem first scenario. It actually worked out brilliantly for the company, the market and the public. I’m surprised a businessman of his longevity hasn’t read or understood the classic “Doing Business Boldly: The Art Of The Intelligent Risk.”
hasta qué punto decir: "yes, we can" sin perder el enfoque del negocio. ?
I don't want to think like an entrepreneur, there should be none
Let's change the world together to be a better place, or we will just die out. AI is not the answer - believe me.

00:00 🚀 Lynda Weinman's entrepreneurial journey illustrates counterconventional mindsets in entrepreneurship. 02:00 💡 "Yes, we can" mindset encourages entrepreneurs to embrace opportunities beyond their core competencies. 04:09 🎯 Entrepreneurs prioritize solving problems over focusing solely on product innovation. 07:10 🎯 Focusing on a narrow target market, as exemplified by Nike's early strategy, can lead to significant success. 09:59 💰 Entrepreneurs like Elon Musk prioritize cash flow and leverage it to drive innovation and growth. 11:10 🌳 Entrepreneurs like Tristram and Rebecca Mayhew demonstrate the effectiveness of borrowing resources and negotiating innovative partnerships. 13:36 🛠 Entrepreneurs often bypass seeking permission and instead focus on execution to drive innovation forward.

You need to listen more closely young man if you want to make something of yourself. The point is entrepreneurs think outside of traditional business reasoning which allows them to achieve success and disrupt major industries. Each of the 6 tips supports this point.

Let's be calling tip six what it is: private profit from public funding. Yikes. Cringe.
You lost me at Elon Musk.
These questions are worth asking yourself, based on the seven mindsets shared here: 1) Which of these mindsets are embodied in you? 2) Which others can you learn? 3) Which can you teach to those with whom you work? 4) Is there one that you can apply to a challenge you're facing today?
This presentation is loaded with survivorship bias… and contradictions.
John Mullins really hits the nail on the head about challenging conventional wisdom. For entrepreneurs, remember that timing your market entry during a 'trigger event' can drastically increase your chances of success, as it creates immediate demand for your solution. Plus, leveraging existing platforms can give you a head start instead of building from scratch.
Did this guy ever run a business? 😅😅

In the video, John Mullins discusses six unconventional mindsets that entrepreneurs can adopt to succeed in business: 1. "Yes, we can": Embracing opportunities outside of core competencies, even if they seem unrelated, can lead to innovative solutions and business growth. 2. "Problem-first, not product-first logic": Focusing on solving problems rather than developing products can lead to more impactful and successful ventures. 3. "Think narrow, not broad": Narrowly targeting specific market segments with tailored solutions can lead to more effective marketing and higher customer satisfaction. 4. "Asking for the cash, and riding the float": Prioritizing cash flow and finding creative ways to finance ventures can lead to financial stability and growth. 5. "Beg, borrow, but please, please don’t steal": Being resourceful in acquiring necessary assets and resources, even if it means borrowing or partnering with others, can lead to successful ventures. 6. "Don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness": Taking calculated risks and forging ahead without seeking permission can lead to breakthrough innovations and competitive advantages. Mullins uses examples from successful entrepreneurs like Arnold Correia, Jonathan Thorne, Philip Knight, Bill Bowerman, Elon Musk, Tristram Mayhew, and Rebecca Mayhew to illustrate each mindset. He encourages viewers to embrace these unconventional approaches to entrepreneurship to overcome challenges and achieve success in their ventures.
