I recently had an A.R.E. MX shell installed on my 2023 Tacoma SR5. I love it.

Waited over 3 months for mine and this took a little fun off this project but life goes on insight who puts it on and their abilities is just as important as the cab selection. Chronic labor shortages in this field is occurring everywhere dont rush your dealer selectuon

I really like the flip down window towards the cab. I been wanting a Leer 100XR, 6ft bed Tacoma. This one looks really good in and out too

I have the exact same set up color, length truck everything. 2020 Cement with the same camper shell.

you should be able to unlock it with the key in the door without the truck shutting off. Then you have to put the key in the ignition and turn it before you step on the brake and it will stay running. If you step on the brake before you turn the key the truck will shut off. This is how mine works anyway. I know this video is 2 yrs old so you may know this about the remote start already ..

So I came for the camper shell and I'm bummed there's no installation, but I'm also glad you got to check out the GTR

These camper tops are all the same I had ARE, Jeraco, and Leer tops and they were the same. I am currently running an A.R.E. high top that I will be posting a video on. Thanks my friend for this informative video.

That’s a sweet truck and your so lucky they had it in your color , I just bought a 21 Chevy Silverado and I also purchased the Rebel . I have to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery , I’m so stoked as they have to color match it . It’s pretty crazy how fast the price can climb on the shells . Cheers

Hey man thanks for this! I'm looking at this exact model and I was wondering if you verified that it was the reinforced model (sportsman package) and if there was a way of telling before you bought it? Its a must because I plan on putting a rtt up there.. Thanks again for the vid

This might be a dumb ? But they they have to remove the bed caps. Do you remove them on any truck or will it sit nicely covering them.

Glad your happy with your shell, but it makes the truck weird looking with the overlapping on the sides and the color match. The Smartcap out of South Africa is water proof, better material, and looks way better in my opinion.

This was painful to watch. Absolutely no information on the installation. Those little things (dots lol😅)on the back glass? Yeah, they hold the glass and the "super gnarly" struts...

Does it leak when it rains, I bought a Ranch camper top and mine leaks around where the bed is put together in front ...

Doesn’t leak super crazy. If it’s a strong downpour with wind a little bit will come through the small opening in the bed by the cab. However, it’s a easy plug with some putty/tape

Just got my new Snugtop. Told me a shocking 12 week wait…took just over 6 months. Still missing roof rails “on order.” No dealer “sorry, it should be here soon”, Covid delay excuses..dealer didn’t seem to care or be surprised by the crazy time delay. 6 months is a long risky wait for a truck, could have a wreck or mechanical failure, then you would not need the top? Installed on my Tundra..we live in Washington State. This top is still leaking in about 5 places after one trip to the dealership for a “water test and reseal”. Giving the terrible dealer a second chance to stop the leaks, but I am doubtful it will ever be even relatively dry. Hardware latches are extremely cheap feeling, “only” paid $3400 for this Sportsman Package Rebel…is supposed to be extra sturdy, but it leaks and I can’t believe how cheap the hardware is. The key I was given for the locks is tiny, like my kids cheap piggy bank “lock”. Very disappointed…looks great, but I will be trying to return if they can’t fix all the crazy leaking.

There are some small holes up front that could use a little plugging. Other than that it’s solid

I had a topper on my tacoma for a little bit, it didn't go with it but I feel like I was getting better mpg even driving 45 and 50 like "nowadays"

No still on stock suspension, however what I’ve noticed is the rear shocks on the Tacoma are a little soft probably due to the fact it’s the “off-road” trim.
