well, to be honest, in order to catch the woman monster they have to be freed, so they could just pretend to agree to the deal and run away once they are freed,, so it kinda makes sense for them to ask what's in it for them if they really catch the monster even though they could ditch

watching this video was wild because i work in a psych ward as security and one of the patients was fixated on this show and explained the entire plot to me over a span of four hours including a tearful monologue about the tribute episode to one of the people who apparently died on the show. The guy was 100% convinced it was real and was warning me about going certain areas in america due to some huge wolves that they hunted on the show. It was honestly one of the most memorable patient interactions from last year.

My husband and I were so obsessed with this show. After the actor who plays Trapper died in real life, they decided on the show that he'd left them a special "Lore" book that leads them on mystery solving adventures. The later seasons have a like sketchy imaginary MIB type government organizations trying to stop them from finding monsters. It's literally a bunch of dudes playing pretend. The show is just as crazy as it seems in your review and only gets crazier in later seasons. Wild Bill also delivers a lot of incredible content and was quoted in an interview as saying that filming this show "saved his life" as it gave him direction/a way to process his ptsd after discharging from the marines.

I love this show. It was the funniest thing I've seen on TV in a long time. The last couple seasons had this big multi-monster story arc, along with this rival black-ops monster hunting group. which was pretty entertaining, but the guy who played the leader of the team, Trapper, became seriously ill and died, so they had to cut it short and began again with a more conventional monster hunt. Huckleberry had one of the best lines about that rival group. "I haven't seen this many guns since the day I got married, by God!"

A guy gets out and comes back, gives us our camera.” 3:12 “You alright there Jeff?” “Yeah, I’m doing fine.” 3:46 “Me and brother Willy, we’re reconning around this cabin. We’re gonna get up there and put an eyeball on it, see what the hell is going on with our team members.” 4:23 “The light kicks on right in our face. You can see a mirror on the wall, and you can see a speaker and a camera. I’ve never seen a place like this, but it looks like an interrogation room.” 5:12 “This whole situation is weird.” 5:16 “Hello?” “Oh shit!” 5:34 “Damn.” “I’m sitting.” “As soon as that skeleton appeared in my face and said ‘sit down,’ I sat down.” 5:58 “You’re the guy that killed the Stonish Giant.” “Yeah.” 6:08 “A deal? Let me tell you what, right now, old boy. There’s no way in hell we’re gonna help you kill another damn Bigfoot.” 6:48 “The woman of the woods?” “The woman of the woods is someone we don’t want to mess with.” 7:18 “This team has already had one heck of an encounter with her. When we were in Lee County, she touched Huckleberry and Jeff. Marked them for death. She affected Jeff’s mind, maybe for life.” 8:06 “Alright. We help you get this woman of the woods. How does this benefit us?” 8:40 “You didn’t kill him?” 8:16 “He says he can deliver who killed the Stonish Giant. If he can make good on that deal, that’s something we’re really gonna have to consider.” 9:30 “Well, yeah, you kinda did.” 9:52 “Where’d you go?” 10:12 “Damn! “Oh my god.” “It’s a hog’s head.” “What the hell?” 10:40 “All of a sudden, right there behind it is a damn hog’s head!” 11:04 “Blood coming out of its nose, its ears, its eyes. What the hell does that mean?” 11:19 “Holy shit.” “I’m telling you guys, there was someone in here.” 11:39 “They’re gone, there’s nothing else we can do. We have a lot to fill you two in on. Let’s do it away from here. I don’t feel safe.” 12:59 “Alright guys, the next creature we’re going to investigate is one we have a history with. We’re going after the Cherokee Death Cat.” 13:23 “We know this Death Cat is nothing to mess with. It’s a huge feline. Weighing in at five hundred pounds.” 14:17 “Well Bubba, we heard you had a pretty interesting encounter out here.” “Well, yeah, we did. So when we’re coming out of the woods, I was along about that tree back there, and Dad was in front of me on that little bank, and he just stopped dead. And he said ‘did you see that?’ And I said ‘see what, Dad?’ and he said ‘that big cat.’ He said ‘son, that cat was eight or nine foot long,’ said ‘it was huge!’” “Dah-gone.” (it’s like saying “oh wow”) 15:05 “And Dad said ‘leapt through the air, and hit right there on that bare spot on that tree.” 15:35 “I’m interested to see how far it is from that log up to where it lit up in that tree. That’s a pretty long shot.” “I want to get a measurement and see exactly how far this big cat jumped.” 15:48 “These big predator cats, they don’t fool around. This thing could be on top of you before you blink your eyes, and you’re done.” “Something big’s been through here.” 16:39 “Check this out! There’s a pee post! This is fresh pee, dude.” “We just found a scent post! You can see claw marks almost seven feet in the air, and fresh urine at the base of the tree. This has to be the Death Cat.” 17:58 “Jeff!” “He’s not here.” 18:25 “Wait, Jeff, hold up Jeff!” “Grab him.” “Oh my gosh, that scared me to death.” “Jeff, talk to me dude, what’s wrong?” 18:44 “We just got up to Jeff, and he was shook up.” “Settle down, settle down.” “What happened, dude?” “What?” 19:03 “Are you hurt anywhere, Jeff?” 19:12 “Jeff said when we got separated, the Death Cat came out of the tree right on top of him.” 19:26 “I think the best thing we can do is get Jeff out of these woods.” “Come on, huh?” “And try to talk to him in the morning.” “That could have ended really, really bad.” Sorry if I misheard anything ^^; hope this helps anyone with auditory processing issues or who might not understand certain parts

I love how this show is written so that it's easy to mistake as a misguided documentary. It has me on my knees howling with laughter watching these guys and imagining their perfect credulous TV audience at home being terrified for their safety. It's so funny! Precious.
I watch this video like 3-4 times a week. It’s my favorite video of Danny’s. I wish he would review more episodes. I remember the day it came out, I laughed as hard as I still laugh today.

This show is also well known in Germany. If you're wondering why... It's because of the accent. Not the original southern accent they speak, but the attempt to recreate this accent into the german language by the voice actors over here 😄😄 Shit sounded so hilarious that many german KZreadrs or TikTokers where making fun of it and tried to imitate it. The voice always made me think of a guy who desperately tries to sound way more masculine than he really does 😂

@@AntepenultimaRomantica It's a weird quirk about Germany, they dub absolutely everything on tv into German, even though basically every German speaks fluent or nearly fluent English. I recall it led to one hilarious case with the South Park episode about Passion of the Christ; Cartman starts saying Nazi stuff in German, and everyone else has no idea what he's saying and think it's Hebrew, except they say this in German and it just makes the episode nonsensical.
I support this show with all my heart, everytime it reminds me of playing pretend in elementary school when we were old enough to not belieeeeve the stories we made up, but young enough to completely commit to them and have so much fun. The reason the main characters keep accusing the skeleton men of killing the Stonish Giant is because they saw the skeleton men dragging its body across the forest and before that they heard a gunshot.
the funny thing is that when i was younger, me and my family used to watch mountain monsters on a daily basis when it first came out. we always found it funny and we still have inside jokes that are about the show even now lol
This is such a weirdly wholesome show? Like, you got four fat guys in beards running around in the dark chasing sheepsquach, and somehow it's the healthiest male bonding relationship you could possibly hope for on television. It's weird how unconventional the relationships on this show are.
