Hi Wayne another great video!! I hav been using Trentinoin since it came on the market when I was in my early 40s and had oily skin n no lines. I’m 72 and people think I’m in my 50s. I’m now dry and it’s still working!! Not many lines but my skin is more sensitive now and I have to use it less but it definitely works!! Merry Christmas ❤❤

I wish I knew about this when I started my Tret journey years ago. I had to persevere through severe dryness (I have extremely oily skin), flaking, irritation, redness, itching etc etc. Now after 3 years it's a different story. I use Tret all over my body now, talk about addiction 🤣. Thank you for the info ❤️

So many doctors never talk about this tactic, and it’s a shame. I heard about it on Hot and Flashy’s YT channel and I have sensitive skin and it worked for me. You need to be patient. I had so many stop and starts even with a very low dosage of Tretinoin but I started twice a week for 20 minutes on dry, washed skin and I did it for about 6 months but my word, it worked!

Great idea! Another thing I've found that works well for me (and I have hypersensitive skin), is to use a gentle cleanser, and only use retinol every other day. And one day I'll substitute the retinol for a gentle skincare product like marula oil. With this, my skin can finally tolerate it!

This is fantastic advice. I also found that most people love to apply their retinols and retinoids on VERY freshly washed skin. This is a mistake. The skin MUST be fully dry, like 40 minutes dry, in order to not end up with irritation, peeling and redness.

That's the Try to make the Skin not so "over reactiv", and it seems to me a really good Way to use Tretinoin, Retinol, Vit.A-Acids. Very very little Contact...and then go a minimal bit higher with the Concentration 😥! Needs looong Time - but the Results are really helpful!

Thank you for this tip!! I have been using prescription tretinoin for the past two years. I have oily/combo skin and am 61. The constant flaking even on my oily t-zone is a huge problem for me. In the winter months my skin becomes drier and the flaking gets worse. I've been using an extremely emollient moisturizer (Tarte H2O which is a wonderful gel) at night and that has helped some. I also use Olehenriksen Strength Trainer Peptide Boost Moisturizer and that helps to heal my skin barrier. Right now, I've taken a one week break from Tretinoin but I plan to use your suggestion!

I assume retinoids good because they have an exfoliating effect therefore making the skin look smoother and more likely to benefit from other products. They also help create a smooth base for cosmetics . I have always had problem with ones from chemist especially as most have perfume in and I’ve used them in my 30’s and 40’s under eyes etc. Ok on my forehead but not below. I believe they set my skin up for dermatitis type reactions that can last for weeks if unlucky. So I avoid. I find simple moisturisers best and eating well and drinking lots of water. Plus that secret ingredient 8 hours sleep and a happy relaxed disposition 😊

I couldn't tolerate that , my skin was dry and burning .I then tried the same every 2 days once...it was a little better..but still had dryness and a little burning the next morning...i stopped it entirely..now a couple years later I'm starting with 0.3 retinol and planning on upping it as time progresses..I ve gone through the ugly phase, so hopefully it works this time.

My doctor has helped me to use contact therapy in order to either rid or minimize contact dermatitis. I even was able to adopt a cat recently! Contact therapy is a safe and effective way to increase skin's toleration. However: I am still using the sandwich technique for my 0.5% tretinoin after a full year. It works well for me and I needn't be concerned about getting that "shedding snake" appearance which is way more bothersome when trying to have my makeup look natural. I'm a great believer in using something sparely in the beginning. Far easier to manage any effects this way than going full throttle from the start!

Waiting for something about retinol from Wayne. To get started I recently bought Olay retinol 24. After applying it I shed a little skin like it's coming off.. it doesn't irritate or anything .. just by massaging the product into face and neck I see skin peeling off.. I am applying about a month now. My concern is, is it really my skin peeling or the product is like that and doesn't absorb into the skin rather peels like scrubbing dead skin . Has anyone used this Olay retinol 24 hr product and faced anything similar? Thank you in advance 💞
