I did that a lot. XD Sometimes I would just be like, "No, but I could double check!" And go back just to take some calming breaths and brace myself for human contact.

If I had a $$$ for every time a customer made me look out back for something I knew for a FACT we did not have... I could retire! & then they say something snarky, like 'you didn't spend much time looking!'. I KNOW! Because it WASN'T there!

One time according to my little scanny thing we actually DID have one in the back, and it had the exact location too. I ran back there and...it wasn't there. At least the customer was understanding and nice about it...sigh.

This is so accurate, especially the "just give it to me". Another thing, I work in a shoe department, and I don't think people realize how much less time it takes to just put the shoe in the box when you're done trying it on. Even if it's not neat and you don't put it away right, a ton of time is spent trying to figure out what show goes into which box

I've worked retail 4 years and this is dead on. Also there's the customer that hands you their trash and wants you to dispose of it for them, the one that doesn't want to wait too long in line, the one that wants you to be their personal shopper....I can go on and on.

Isn't scanning must be free LMAO. I literally heard that joke so much I'm DONE . NEXT TIME IM NOT LAUGHING.

Mahadonation1 I had a lady 10 minutes after we closed asking for the price of shoes and I said "I'm not sure, but we actually closed 10 minutes ago, we open again tomorrow morning" and she said "yeah, but what's the price of the shoes??" So I lied to her and told her we shut down the registers in the store already 😂

I work in retail on a furniture and lighting, leisure and toys department and all this is very accurate. We should have a national say what we want to customers day. Just one day in every year.

with you all the way, have worked in retail for 9 years, you missed the bane of my life though, sitting at a checkout waiting for the next customer to then be asked "are you open" and the opposite of that, close sign up but they still come to you expecting you to serve them

I worked at T.J Maxx for two years, and this video is SO ACCURATE.

I had this lady tell me she left her ex boyfriend because he had become a black wizard and was practicing black magic... I was trying to keep a straight face making all the right comments "oh REALLY? that sounds horrible! I REALLY hope he doesn't come after you with that black magic!" after she left I could barley make it to the back room before laughing hysterically....

I totally agree! Great video! The people who just won't leave the store once it's closed are the worst! Although my retail experience is WAY better than working in the food Industry.

I manually scan every customer. Your hair, your clothes, everything about your outlook tells me how nice or awful i can expect you to be. It's 95% accurate ;)

I work at a department store and I can totally relate to people messing up hours of folding in just 30 seconds. I once spent almost a whole day folding and sorting men's jeans and the next day, they were all messed up again. Every time I'm asked to do this, I think to myself "Why bother?".

Yep, dealt with that at Kmart daily. Sometimes the underwear or sock was missing. I assumed stolen, but occasionally you would find a stray pair in the weirdest places...

I worked for Target for 9 years and in that time I can say most of what you have dealt with that you think are dark are more likely on the light side for me. It can get really bad the longer you work for the same place in retail. But sounds like you are doing okay so far.

I feel your pain. I worked grocery retail for 5 years at the register and service desk. Instead of going to "the back" to check on items I would tell customers it is coming in on the truck tonight. Truck only came two times a week tho.

Customer: Can you check if you have any of these in the back? Me: [knowing there is nothing in there] Yeah I'll go check for you

Once I was in the middle of folding clothes on a small fixture (hoodies, and hoodies don't refold nicely) and some witch came over, ignored my personal space, and started pulling out sweaters, checking the sizes, balling them up, setting them on top or shoving them in the back, etc. and then her friend or sister or whatever came and started doing the same thing on the other side of me and I just threw my hands up in the air and stormed off.

I would go to your manager and tell them you are a fantastic human being

"We close at 7:00 it's 6:58 get out" haha
