8:10 The more I look at the US cover the cooler it gets. The clocks on the side, the shadow in the shape of Death, the clouds being the eye sockets and nose of a skull.

Dune and Lord Of The Rings at the bottom is insane. Down right criminal. But that's the beautiful thing about art! It's subjective. Our lists look different, but that just proves that there are different books for different people - and low key I love that.

Here's my thing about emma: the book and movie are incredibly well written. However, I can't stand Emma. I don't like her character, and it's not even because she'd badly written; I just don't like her, which is originally what stopped me from watching Clueless. Emma does make up for her wrongs by the end of the book and film, but I have definietely said throughout the movie that she needs to "get a life," so I do agree with that review. edit: now that i've seen the rest of the section in the video, I guess Jane Austen completed her goal of making people hate her. Love that for her

This guest space is exactly how I imagined the rooms in the museum in Kafka on the Shore. It’s so magical to see real spaces that reflect something that I thought was just living in my head.

As someone not familiar with booktok but who keeps hearing about it, this is appreciated! One correction: Lolita fashion has no relation to the book besides happening to share a name. It's actually a Japanese fashion movement that pushes back against the male gaze by indulging in overblown, childish femininity. It's not meant to sexualize children as an aesthetic, but rather to use childish aesthetics to push back against social norms that force girls and women to be sexual objects.

Not gonna lie, 5:02 that poem kinda slaps. Yeah, it’s blah and bland, but it does convey emotion. And the people that are really the main audience probs didn’t get farther than that elementary level. They’d understand it better.
