In the Critical Element + 3-piece Safi set example, you are wearing 2 pieces of Velkhana as well as having an awakening slot for it. Normal CE is only a 2-piece bonus.

Thanks for the video Phemeto and especially thanks for discussing the raw blast option. The best thing about Safi for me is that I can just run Safi 5 + a status Safi weapon and be at like 85-90% effectiveness compared to straight meta sets. So much less to farm for if you just want to dabble in a ton of different weapons like I do.

Thanks for the great and informative video as always, only stain on it are the screenshots at the bottom as only the hbg sets show the decorations so it would be wonderful if you could retake proper shots for bows and light bowguns, the ones up right now are not the best and leave too much to guessing which OP decos you have that we will most likely miss and won't know how to replace without seeing them directly.

PSA: You can remove your old augments (atk elem etc) from your old bows (and weapons you won't use anymore) to get back all of the materials that you need to augment your new bow

I remember hearing someone say that true spare shot for some reason or another favors lower magazine sizes but idk if that's true. But, for me personally, the guys i know who use hbg tend to just use the spare shot charm since it gives you better build flexibility

I use a full Safi set with Resentment 4-5 via mantle looping for the Spread tank build. It can include everything plus Guard up. Awakens: Recoil, Spread Cap 3 and rest Attack 5.

Why Velk divinity on the bow? The two armor pieces provide the CE bonus.

Would you recommend a high blast/ raw build vs safi?

So for raw bow you just do 5 attack awakenings instead of elem/status?

Nice to know bows got better. I'd run God Bow (blast) if only I could get my hands on a mighty bow jewel. Can't wait for the H/LBGs.

Ele HBG vs Safi in next video? they seems pretty op damagewise (safi set and safi guns with 10ele clip). With shield setup i can get ~45-55 on legs per tick and 2-4 ticks sometime more.

Can u please show the dicoration sets and what do i augment the weapons with ?

I tried 3 PC safi, on the pole it is more damage but monsters that move around alot are not fun to fight since your red health doesn't heal back often enough and is irritating to play.

Are there any viable Bow Builds with 3 Vitality stacked in? I do play Mostly in Multiplayer vs tempered Monsters and almost every Skill does 1 hit me. All the Meta Builds are Built around Max Crit, Max Element and Constitution/Stamina Surge :/

So if I'm understanding correctly Silver rathalos set is still better than Velkhana 2 set piece for critical element because Silver boy gives you better slots, correct??

Oof. Safi is my entire life now I guess, since that's five (minimal) element bows and one raw (because why not? I miss the old days of picking a bow with rapid and high raw and going ham with snipe shots) that need a tone of dracolite. I do like that these bows only become stronger than existing bows if you 100% commit to element and only element on them, so they don't *totally* invalidate existing weapons and they become pretty well comparable if you want to do something weird with them (like go with status coatings, which grant you boosted..what, poison and paralyze with regular sleep if you take a level 3?)

Woulda thought 3p safi 2p velk would beat 4p slos since it does for DBs, though only by a little bit. Beats slos by more if you can use the coalescence from Velk set :thinking:

All monster have Raw Zone Value and Elemental Zone Value, like phemeto said zinogre elemental zone value kinda low (it means zinogre take less damage from elemental damage) so better be raising your raw to get more damage

I've maxed all my elemental bows but having never used blast don't know much about it, should I be stacking it with attack increase or status up effect? Hoping it's attack increase or its back to the grind for few more hours.

I'm surprised they didn't add boosted coats as an upgrade option.

I use it. & If you get gold rath essence on the bow you can add a 2 set bonus skill to go with it. I played around with Vall's super recovery

Velkhana's crit ele only requires 2 pieces right? Then the bow can just run full ele up for awakening for higher ele?

Most likely a combination of Safi+Crit element or full Safi. Silver sol just doesn’t have the slots

I'm running a less optimal set that forgoes normal/spread shot decos for vitality 3. If you do Gold rathian helm with silver sol set its really easy to get the 3 vit with a single tend/vit deco. Slot in the 2 single slots and 1 giant slot with crit eye to get crit eye 4 and one 2 slot deco with mighty bow. From there you can finish building tenderizer, crit eye, and a combination of constitution/stamina surge depending on what decos you have with access to 3 giant deco slots and 2 2-slots. If you have optimal decos you can end up with 100% affinity on WE (provided you took 2 crit augments to get safi bows to 20%), Vit 3, Con 3, fortify, TCE and CB3.

U can remove them from old bows fam you get the exact same amount of mats to upgrade your safi bows, all you need is the stone to add levels to you weapons

@@rayanson2795 I think only one or two of the old meta bows were rarity 12 so most augments on the safi bows require different mats. I just started working on the bows last night and started with the thunder bow and the augment mats were different. All good though, the element on the safi bow with all element 5s was higher than the kadachi bow fully augmented so it'll be worth the grind.

@@rayanson2795 Yeah I know, but thanks for the heads up anyway 👍, The problem is the old meta bows were Glavenis II, Laguna II & Thundering Strikebow which are all R10 & Mist Glacia, Dragonseal & Vaal Velos which were R11, No R12 bows were ever worth using until now so I've got a pretty decent grind ahead.

U can put Rathalos essence in bow, and complete this build with 3 rathalos and 2 pieces velkhana or 2 pieces namiele and test. Can put True Critical Element and Critital Element in one build now

only true will work, they dont stack together. which is really easy to check with old kjarr weapons from kulve. same with spare shot, just grab good old lunastra+xenojiva weapon and narga set. game will always use the best numbers

I just barely got into bow. I’ve just finished crafting all the previous meta bows and right before Safi was added. How much longer do we have to farm the new meta bows before the Safi siege ends? In your opinion.

@@able.3566 It doesn't take anywhere near as long as people seem to be making out, I had both sets of safi armor, the xeno bow from the smithy, all 5 element bows and blast maxed after 17 runs, there's a few things I did to speed the process up significantly, first was don't even do a run with anyone below MR100 I'm not trying to be an ass we all have bad runs but there's definitely a higher chance of a bad run with lower lvl people, 2nd was getting 5 of each bow then only grabbing weapons that had an awakened lvl of 4 as rewards after the siege (it doesn't tell you the lvls on the reward screen but it doesn't take long to work out), then I'd go and upgrade all those weapons I got that were awakened lvl4 with 8 Draco and select any ability that will raise them to or above awakened lvl 6 then sell them at the melder for 40 Draco instead of the normal 20, per 10 weapons that's 320 Draco compared to 200, my 1s and 5s Draco pieces were used only for this purpose. Then once you've built up a comfortable amount of Draco turn off auto save and save manually, the upgrade path is the same as melding decos now in that there is no RNG it's always a set path, although the path can be changed by choosing different abilities but I couldn't be bothered thinking that much so I just grabbed every element up ability that came up until it was maxed, then took a screen shot of how much Draco I had left and quit without saving, then do it to the next bow of the same element until you get one maxed using the least amount of draco then if any of the remaining 4 are awakened lvl4 spend 8 Draco and sell them for 40 and repeat the process until you've maxed a bow in each element and maybe keep a spare of each elemental bow for future builds if that interests you.

Got so much grinding to do...

The 2-piece namielle set is impossible to make unless you have three Expert+ jewels...

How much exactly better is True Crit Element against normal Crit Element? I dont want to run that shitty Silver Rathalos set.

“New age: raw bows” Wasn’t raw bow a thing in base world for launch at least? I remember everyone taking diablos bow and wall jumping and killing nergigante in like 57 seconds. So they just brought it back?

Thats literally the only good thing about cera coilbender which is the wall jump spread cheese, if you play normally the most optimal way is elemental bow

It's not back in nearly the same power, but we've gotten some.monsters that dont take to elemental damage and in those few cases, blast can fill the gap.

Kinda sucks that these are the obvious best in slot for all bows now, but raw/blast and thunder really needed the upgrades so I'll take it.

I don't understand how that sucks? The new siege just arrived and you have to grind countless hours to get the right upgraded weapons. Why would you rather want to do all that grinding just to create a weapon that isn't even stronger than a tier 2 monster weapon. Like what would be the point of doing the siege then. First dude was right the internet is very confusing

What's the point in anyone farming guiding lands now for augmenting weapons if you can farm safi instead and craft something better? It makes one side of the game less worth your time.

@@FakeHeroFang you do know safi weapons can be augmented right. Plus this is how any game works. New and better stuff is added to keep people from getting bored and continue to play their game. Capcom gave you months to grind the guiding lands now the game is moving forward into something new. I have gotten my use of everything I need from the guiding lands and was very much starting to get bored. If you are behind and still exploring around the guiding lands than that's on you. Plus all the best bows in the game always came from weak tier 2 monsters with ugly designs and takes 2 seconds to craft. This is 10x better.

Didn't see the raw bow build :( I wanted to check it.

It's similar to the build he shows at 6:03 except instead of Fire Attack you should increase Attack Boost upto 7 and instead of Element Up Augments/Awakenings you should use Attack Up ones. maybe fit in extra Constitution and Normal Shot Up skills.

It’s really not worth it. The element VI is always active while coatings are all just statuses. And statuses just don’t work as good as fights go on.

Thanks man, for making this... I played bow more than anything back in MHW (1100hrs+) but since the Tenderizing came into play, i feel like the bow is just pushed so far back... the Extra dmg from melee (even though you stand in its face most of the time) is just wierd, since Bow might already be the weapon you need the most Decos for to acutally be decent... so theres not room for Health boost. I know it might just be me and i need to GIT GUD! :p. But Iceborne Ruined bow for me.. But i'm gonna make all thses bows though, and show thoes monsters a Flurry of Arrows.

But element bypasses the whole system of tenderizing, not sure if you noticed but high element bows are a thing in Iceborne built specifically to balance out the tenderizing.

I know it's a meme build, but I'm curious to see how good the Blast Bow can be with a Thousand Dragon setup. Velkhana essence on the bow, run Silver Rath arms and boots. It should be hitting like an absolute truck.

It'd be hard to make blast effective for that setup because element boosts don't really affect blast let alone at all with critical element etc.. Plus thousand dragons probably would proc too fast for blast making it obsolete later on in the fight due to the dragons higher resistance to a proc after like 2 or 3 thousand dragons.

Safi weapons all look the same which is extra boring, they should have transmog to look like any bow in the game and some extra modern and real but designs. I'd love to have a compound bow look for my Odogaron layered armor set. We need more layered armors too.

I managed to put together a "budget" version of the build if you don't mind missing out on crit boost. Regular silverlos set is likely just better though.

@@mattiet8904 Appreciate the suggestion, but the 15% crit damage is too good to pass up, even at 95%. It's just very ironic to call a build "comfy" when it is so difficult to achieve deco-wise.

@@tinytenor5414 Sure thing. Keep in mind that crit boost only affects the raw portion of our shots. It's only about a 6-7% damage increase on these builds. And I can see where he's coming from calling the set "comfy". The extra evasion or constitution is really nice. The deco requirement is rough, but that just means it isn't budget friendly.

I personally found it more comfy to use Garuga legs over namielle. You lose namielle bonus but the crit eye 2 and extra gem slot let me run better skills. I also think it’s a little much to call the set with namielle comfy at all when it requires pretty rare decos to even function. For me it’s literally impossible to run because I simply don it possess and of the level 4 decos required. With my setup I end up with every skill the namielle build has except I get normal boost 2 and spread boost 1.

How come dragonseal bow gets outclassed by safi ???

Overall, Silver is still best set for bows.

I hate that Namielle and TCE combined is still less than pure TCE, i really think something that mixes and matches for optimization should be REWARDED over just going all in on one set...

Are you trolling or something? Bows are not easy to use and they definitely don't have a ton of damage, unless you build it out that way. I'm guessing you never played with a bow in the game based on this ridiculous comment.

i got Water bow : 600 , thunder : 660 , fire :740 , ice : 710 , dragon : 810 elements ! these r my highest element build on Pc atm

So your health bar is tiny and you can get killed in one shot, thereby preventing your bow from healing you with the regen functionality.
