Ice Fishing Lake Simcoe Jumbo Perch 2023

Had a great first outing on Lake Simcoe. Got into a few nice jumbos on the first trip out to cooks bay!

I'm in Wisconsin and love seeing those Jumbos, been a few years since i got any of those, well 11 and 12 inch is jumbo to me , lol

I like fishing around snake. It seems like cooks Bay holds alot of small fish

Have you heard or have any report on the ice conditions closer to east point marina and snake island?

I haven’t heard anything yet but I’d assume if there isn’t someone making a ice report out there this weekend then the following weekend with the super cold temps it should be good to go. Stay safe and tight lines.

We were on about 6 inches of solid ice

@TFFOutdoors where are you finding 6"...lake muskoka is 3" clear and 4" crap white ice

@timhossack6836 I’m not fishing the main lake. The bays on simcoe have around 8-10 inches of ice, 6” clear and 4” white ice. Hotbox huts on simcoe did an ice report for cooks bay for Feb 5th and they got 12” of ice under there huts but same deal lots of crap ice on top of the good ice.

@@timhossack6837that being said, I still probably won’t be back out on simcoe again this year with this warm weather. Terrible winter we’ve had.
