Literally just watched this! May be one of the best anthems I’ve heard in sports history!! Didn’t try to over sing it didn’t twist it into anything outrageous and kept it pure simple and beautiful! Great job young man!!!

It’s sad having a native Hawaiian sing our national anthem, we don’t deserve someone as amazing as Iam Tongi. Especially after all the terrible things we did to his people. Down with Dole! Give the Queen her land back.

Iam Tongi, this is by far the best rendition of our National Anthem I have ever heard. You are truly a star and you brought me to emotional tears. I feel the need to share this, as a native born American, i grew up singing the national anthem at our schools and everytime it would come on the announcements i would be so over it. So needless to say that whenever i hear the national anthem, i dont cry, i dont get emotional, its just like an everyday routine from when i was in school BUT i never lost the respect i have for this country yet more like a forced respect. this video has brought me down to tears, i felt and saw every word that was sung. Never have i imagined a war in my head and us winning that war with our flag held high, beat up and ripped and dirty BUT still standing. JUST AS the song says, i think i will now never look at this song the same again it now has the true meaning of what it is to be an American. God bless America.

As a Marine until I die, I found no offense with him FORGETTING to remove his cover. The camera man forgot as well. This is caused by nerves. IAM is a very sweet & nervous 18 yr old. & his rendition was GREAT, God bless him ,& God bless America.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

This is the way it was meant to be sang, with such class and dignity. I LOVE how you took your time and sang every word and note as if you were savoring every bite of a good meal. Many people who sing the National Anthem often try to show off their vocal abilities by doing all kinds of vocal gymnastics. More often than not, they fall flat. The best easy to listen to anthem I've ever heard! Nothing fancy, just pure heart in every word. I usually walk away when someone sings the national anthem, but Iam's natural simple and beautiful sound and spinning vibrato got my attention throughout the whole song.

I could hear at the end some chanting “Iam! Iam! “. So beautifully done and with so much heart and soul. I have heard too many sing this in their own style to create focus on them and get the attention instead of singing with feeling what this song represents, our freedom after a war. Unfortunately so many countries still going thru wars today. We may have some controversy going on within our government and neighborhood problems of gangs and street shootings but we do not have to run to our cellars or basement to hide from bombs when are awoke during our sleep by sirens. We are so blessed and the Anthem reminds me of the freedom we do have. I am so grateful for the men and women who volunteer their lives to protect our nation and all of us. These people sign up willingly no draft so we need to appreciate them. God bless our military and all who serve to protect.
