@Nancy you are not alone! I think this is the first time I have felt this way about an American Idol contestant. Sure there have been favorites on the other shows. Nothing compared to this guy Iam. He brings his own style and he is one of a kind. This 60 year old from North Carolina loves some Iam ! I hope he can pull this win out.

I have listened to this song a 100 times and I still cry every time I hear it. James Blunt wrote a song that makes grown men cry.

Why in gods name do I keep watching this over and over. I cry more and more each time I do. Iam I understand and know that pain, losing my mom in my 20s and almost 20 years later knowing going thru health issues kidney transplant, dialysis with my dad. The pain is so real and trust me when I say your dad is with you every step you take and is beaming with joy for you. Rodney along with it seems like the entire world is soooo proud of you, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your story and your dad with us. I can’t forget about James blunt putting his hand on your arm and the embrace at the end. I wish I could hug you myself and tell you how with time the pain eases doesn’t go away but eases. Your parents did an amazing job ❤️

In my opinion, Iam's rendition is good, just as moving. But James Blunts original is powerful.

So beautiful to see Iam with his inter-generational family onstage along with friends & loved ones… This got me crying 😭 again and ❤ that crowd of supporters also sang with Iam! ‘loved seeing the babies in the background being attentive to Iam’s heart warming yet powerful voice that touches many souls ❤🙏🏽❤️🌺
