I love that he just sang the song. No showboating, no yodeling, no grandstanding display of "look what I can do". He just sang the song like he meant it, and that was what made it so beautiful.

Interesting thing is; he actually added almost 70 notes, but he did it in a way that it seemed traditional. Now, that is talent!

He didn't even have to try with extra runs & riffs most performers do. That was by far one of the best. He took us to church with that one. 👏

I love how unabashedly American the Super Bowl is: military color guards, a shot of an aircraft carrier, a country musician with a smokey voice singing the star spangled banner playing the electric guitar, fighter jets streaming overhead, and, of course, american football itself is incredibly American. I love it, and I'm Canadian, by the way.

This performance was incredible. Sadly we have had some questionable NFL shows and renditions. But this one, this one they nailed. He nails anything he sings tho.

This Super Bowl was amazing. No headlines of nips showing, over sexy, fights breaking out, etc. It was the first time in a LONG time, I watched and thought my kids 10 and under could watch. It has been embarrassing for years, thank you to everyone who turned it around.

Can't believe I've just heard this and had to comment. In my humble opinion the most powerful and emotive rendition ever of an anthem that's lyrics and air are powerful and emotive in themselves. I'm Canadian and I've never felt more patriotic after hearing this rendition. All art aspires to the form of music. Stapleton is special.

I’m Australian and one thing I love about the American anthem is the many renditions singers perform. I was truly moved by this rendition, so much soul and heart. Beautiful voice!

As a Canadian, I felt the same. Normally I wouldn’t like it that slow, but Chris’ version was so beautiful, heart stopping , gritty and gave me goosebumps. He knocked it out of the stadium!

The wife and I took a two week trip to the Gold Coast several years ago and spent all of 2 days of it at the beach...the rest was spent with some bogans we met who took us to the races at Willowbank. It was the best vacation we ever had before or since and as a Kentucky farm boy who's been a few places (Oorah!) I've never felt so welcome so far away. A couple of years later that same couple came here and we returned the favor. Australia is a 10 out of 10.

So beautiful!!! Whoever doesn’t love this country can go kick rocks! Greatest country in the history of humanity!

I am not American but this was absolutly awsome. What a very beautiful voice he has. That brings me to tears 😢

This man put soul, heart, and emotion into our National Anthem, and maybe even united our country for a few brief minutes. Absolutely brilliant

He was actually undiscovered for a long time. He used to write songs for big name artists . Someone told him he should do his own music, and he did and blew up!

I’m 35 years old and I think I can count on one hand how many people have really moved me to tears when singing the national anthem and hands down this was one of them. How beautiful is Chris’ voice? Our country means so much more to me than it ever has than in the past few years and I’m so proud to call America my home.

It really did draw up some emotion. I always honor my uncle that fought the Nazis in WWII with the 82nd/504th, my cousin that died flying Hueys at the age of 22 in Vietnam, buddies that fought throughout the 20 year GWOT and now my son deployed overseas while we have our administration and Globalist extremists trying to provoke a World War. It was refreshing to have a Patriotic showing!!

Thank you for your service sir ❤️ my dad served 20 years always cried when the national anthem was sung beautifully ❤️ he is no longer with me but I know he was with me spiritually when I cried standing in front of my tv because I showed my dad Chris stapelton before he died I used to love his song Tennessee whiskey my dad made me love country music so this was special ❤️

Oh, it's been such a long time since our anthem was sung with the emotion it deserves. I think many of us needed it hear it as it is.

It’s a hard song to sing , it needs a person with perfect pitch . There is nothing like it being sung with such soul and depth of voice . It was perfect. Grammy for that performance alone .

American anthem just evokes such deep emotions. As a Canadian, I love our national anthem, but dang it, I'm jealous of you guys and happy for you for such a beautiful anthem.

Even if you never heard his music before... his voice, vibe and a combination of scenes of crying stars and american forces across the world .. this performance touched deep
