My new recording in progress definitely already will add some sounds of this drum VST instrument and will be used for Bassdrum/Snare basis in recordings after this one. Tambourines, woodblocks, shakers, cowbells or other percussion I have to find elsewhere...no problem....Modern 80's drumkit is a timesaver...

Hi Dom, I only purchased your original kit as way of saying thank you for all you do. I didn't need it, but still ended up using it in some of my 80s covers here on KZread and it served me very well! It looks like you've nailed it further with this new version....almost negating the need for anything else in the 80s genre. I'm not a big fan of Halion, but it won't stop me picking up a copy. Bud, I've been producing with Cubase for over 20 years. I've used GB's worth of Battery samples, Prism, tons of sample packs. I hate drums because they typically take so long to dial in. You've done it here - I can get up and going in like 5 minutes for just about anything!! Finally... thank you!!

Nice work! Maybe I will buy it soon. It looks like more than Prism Retro Drums or Ujam Beatmaker. The thing holding me back is that it require Halion. I like plugins that are dependecy free. Many plugins also uses Kontakt which I am not a big fan of either. Anyway, impressive work!

Great functionality implementation! Congratulations! :-) 1) Is it limited to these 250 samples? Or can we load in other samples? 2) With all functionality buttons, does it report the parameters to the host? As in being able to automize for example turning a sample into reverse playback.

Looks and sounds great. Dom, im curious why did you make it Halion only? Is there any particular reason for this. It excludes a lot of people, meanwhile if made a regular VST every platform could use it. Cheers

Very good question: the reason is simple- if you wanted to build an instrument from scratch with all the effects I have included right here (there are over 20 or so plugins in the backend of this instrument), the instrument would cost £249 or more. And the result would not be any better. With Halion I had a great platform to build everything I wanted with all the mixing sauces I use all the time - I could design the GUI on my own etc etc. and still it required quite a bit of advanced scripting. Also Halionsonic is available to anyone out there- it’s VST3, AU and AAX :) you have to see this instrument like Kontakt libraries - you need Kontakt to run them but oh I wouldn’t want to install all these as separate instruments :) hope this helps!

Hi Dom. So I thought your new drum machine would fit a niche for me and went ahead and bought it Your long time effort has produced a great sounding tool and sample effect generator. Will it allow for importing user samples in the future? You mentioned that you don't use the multiple out feature but create multiple instances. When you finger drum a recorded midi file are you recording it on one track then copying the different drum elements to their own track and enabling a dedicated instance of the M80 Max instrument? Or are you using a different approach. I am using cubase, and I don't know if routing each GM note during recording to a dedicated track is possible.

I purchased your old plugins a while ago but did not get an email for the new one.

Yes you absolutely can. Halionsonic is free - feel free to download it and check it beforehand. It definitely works with Ableton but just for your peace of mind :)

I've had problems with GUI on the first version, never being able to see the full window, not matter what i do (on more than one computer). Is this issue fixed in this new one? :)
