@@toydoseIt’s usually something only inspired or so obvious he doesn’t need to say, i doubt it’s malicious enough to be serious. Plus chances are he was working on this piece before that even came out, dragons are sort of on brand for him tbh.

The level of detail on both tiny temple and the dragon is jaw dropping. I wonder if Adam will make anything related to mortal kombat since its coming soon.

I actually REALLY love his gold mane, I think the color contrasts really well with his dark blue scales and the colors look really lovely together! I like to think maybe he's an ocean dragon and lives under the water between the sea stacks when he's not protecting the temple from danger.

For scales, tulle netting works a treat as well. It's cheap and comes in different sizes, so you can make big scales or little scales, depending on, well, your scale.

I read that eastern dragons aren’t usually hostile to humans, so this is totally accurate!

He made something not incredibly horrifying… incredible…

This dropped right about when I'd started playing Sea of Stars, and the thumbnail instantly reminded me of The Sleeper that you see fairly early on. A big ol' dragon wrapped around a stone structure that people live on top of.

I don't have the words to express how awesome this statue is so I'll just say well done sir.

I like to imagine that Steven the dragon guardian isn’t sworn to protect the little temple by some sort of ancient covenant or spiritual duty, he just likes the funny little building and the tiny creatures that live in it. He likes watching them walk around the courtyard, and in and out of the buildings, and he wonders what they do all day. Steven’s protection of the temple is more of a happy accident, at anyone who might seek to damage the temple or its inhabitants would have to cross a very large, very protective dragon to do so.

Clicked on the video so fast because I love dragons and this dragon is awesome. Dragons are pretty much the main thing I draw.

It never ceases to amaze me, the patience you have in the tiny detail you put into every single piece you do. But this one was just crazy tiny detail! I’m truly blown away by this one. I would proudly display this in my home.

The little net sleeve garlic is sometimes sold in makes a really cool scale pattern. For all you crafty types. 😊

I love this. The dragon is so cool and the tiny temple is so cute. I love seeing these kinds of sculptures as well the video game inspired sculptures (that are not too creepy). Although I noticed you did not paint the dragon’s eyes. Maybe it’s a blind dragon which is so cool. I love a disabled guardian.

It could be a reference to a neat little story about a famed painter, Zhang Sengyao, who painted four amazingly lifelike dragons on the walls of a temple, but left the eyes blank. When asked why his artwork was "incomplete", he answered that a dragon's eyes are its spirit, and by giving it eyes, he would be giving it life-force and it would fly away. His statement was considered absurd, and he was urged to "finish" the painting properly. He painted pupils on two of the dragons...and they did, in fact, come to life and fly into the heavens. Or maybe Adam just wanted it to have cool glowing divine eyes or something IDK

I know you were a bit worried about the colouring, but it looks so beautiful!! The aqua blue/green and the gold compliment each other so beautifully!!

I love how everybody else just goes online to buy miniature temple kits and puts them into a diorama and you take it as a challenge and go: "Lemme one-up you lazy amateurs!" and you proceed to built such an amazing teeny tiny temple from scratch. I absolutely adore you for that alone.

It baffles me how you actually think of the right clay for a certain work and make this sound SO easy! Ever plan on doin a QnA or just an overview of your thought process when making these?

I love how you go over the little techniques more in this one, like the dull boxcutter adding texture and how you mix your washes; it really helps me appreciate more just how much skill and technique you use for these tiny nerdy things

There's a saying in Chinese "画龙点睛", where the artist painted on the pupils on the dragon and it flew away, so perhaps it was a good thing your dragon didn't have any pupils!

The colors on this are incredible. It kinda drives me nuts how easy you make this look.

Now I suddenly got really interested in the story of this dragon and its temple. BOY I'd love to read a book or watch a movie about it.. XD Amazing sculpture!

thank you for making these videos. they have helped me get through some really hard times, while keeping me inspired to do my art.

I’m always fan of what you come up with, but this one was definitely one of my favorites this year!

I love how this came out. Coloring the water a different blue than the dragon may have been an accident, but I think it made the dragon pop more than if they’d both been greenish. Also, I now want to make a whole bunch of somewhat-less-than-1:144 scale temples and outbuildings, for no other reason than because they’re adorable.

Awesome work! I love the mane! I think it's more copper than gold, but I really think that works better with the dragon's scales. The hide looks kinda like aged copper, so it works very well together.

Wow, what a massive dragon on such a tiny temple

I think the guardian dragon was a good choice. In eastern mythology dragons tend to be benevolent and rule over things like the ocean, while western mythology portrays them as malevolent, Princess stealers.

Do a deep copper metal base under your golds next time, and do very soft silver highlights on top as well. Trust me!

The old renaissance masters would lay down a layer of red before applying the gold so that it would be warmer! Using the red based brown that you used sort of mimics that, and was a good call! Steven the Dragon looks really good! Great job!!!

For the future! Eastern dragons are actually based on mammals, not lizards. So you should be using wolves, lions, deer like guys as reference. The body is usually lizard like, but even that can be covered in fur and fluff. This one looked really good! I like a wester/eastern dragon mix! Looks like mom was Easter and dad was western
