I met alot of LGBT+ folk through Amino when i was 17 in early 2018 so I've been out for 3 years. I've fluctuated through some labels so I identify as queer cause it has some ambiguity to it

The amount of stress, self-loathing, guilt and shame i dealt with as a child (and still deal with today being closeted with my family) is so taxing on my mental health and i wouldn't wish it upon anyone else

I’m closeted at home but I was pretty out at school for end of 7th (to some people but if someone random asked I be like “no ew nasty”) to 8th. Then I moved schools for highschool and it’s just so mentally taxing. The Christian guilt, internalized homophobia and comp het is eating me up. I had a gf end of freshmen year but we broke up after like four months lmao but I swear that was the best time of my life (during highschool I guess). There was someone there who I knew and I could talk to and we were chill. Turned out I just really wanted a friend but still. Corona has just made it worse tbh. At least at school despite not talking to anyone I could tell if someone was 👩‍❤️‍👩 and that was my everything. It’s my second year into highschool and I hate it more than anything just because I can’t express myself to anyone.

As a gay I can confirm I’m both terrified of and attracted to men 💕

I feel a lot of solidarity with your story. My parents are very “we completely love and accept you” but at the same time get visibly angry when they see me with painted nails... I’m currently looking for a job and my Dad keeps telling me interviewers won’t take me seriously if they see my nails painted, and then we’ll get in a big fight.... but at the end of the day he’s not completely wrong, and I’m scared that being a visibly femme gay man will close doors for me. It’s tough to navigate, but your content really helps my confidence. 💖

Hi, it's up to you cuz we have all got got loans&bills to pay and we don't all have the privilege to be picky at jobs... but I always wonder if painted nails are a problem in the interview, how is the work environment going to be? my mom says the same thing about my septum ring, luckily im in fashion so its not a huge issue, but at the end of the day I see you, I see your femme-ness and know that it is inherently good and beautiful. xoxo sending love

You can definitely have your nails painted when you get the job. I remember going to a store and we asked a male employee for help with something and he had painted nails and none of the other costumers he helped battered an eyelid (can't remember what colour lol)
