I appreciate that levy makes an effort to bring viewership to women chess players and the women's chess scene. Including the women's games in his recaps is also a big move. Naturally the women interviews will get less viewership but i think it's important, as the biggest chess influence in the world rn) that levy highlights the women talent, so thank you Levy!!

There's far more of a gap between men's chess (technically open chess) and women's chess than there realistically should be, and it's great that Levy tries to do something about this. (and without ever devolving into stupid forced diversity bullshit which only keeps the gap in place, as well!) I'm still very eagerly awaiting Levy's full video on the topic, which he's hinted at previously.

You can spot the virtue signaling and hipocrisy very easily sometimes: "NATURALLY the women interviews will get less viewership" For anyone reading this, do not let yourself be manipulated from stuff like this, what seems to be a "nice comment" really shows true intentions. If you are a female chess player that can be interviewed, YOU HAVE THE POWER to make interviews more seen by people, don't let people tell you "it's natural for female chess players to be less valued", work hard, become better, give entertaining and insightful interviews, then everyone will watch them.

If i had to give a critic it might be that levy don't try to elaborate on the answers and maybe for some chess player who have difficlties expressing in english trying with a translator and slow down the pace of question if needed so they understand and give them more time to think since its not live !

Of course, the very clean interview situation can be naturally awkward, and English is not a native language for many/most of them but it's still intriguing to watch. So far Vishy has been by far the best speaker, and Hikaru is pretty comfortable speaking English in front of a camera, but Ting Jie is also pretty good, among others such as Ian, Gukesh, and Fabi

great insight there. Play for enjoyment of chess, not ratings, not winning the tournament. really takes the pressure off some, and i know in many pursuits if you focus on enjoying it then improvement follows. I've experienced this myself and i think many others have too.

Levy, another great video. I really like the question: "Is there something in your life that you like and bad at?". I really wish for people to get out of their comfort zone, but with time you will squeeze even better answers. The things you're doing are extremely valuable for people both inside and outside the chess world!!!

@@chipe123o4Not really. The Chinese “j” sound doesn’t really exist in English. I’d pronounce the last syllable in her name with a dz or dj starting sound (best to google it), and it rhymes with “yeah”, not “tie”.

Thank you to the players for doing these interviews (being stuck with Levy for 10min is no small task). Jokes aside, it creates an personal connection to the players and gives a lot more hype for the events as you want them to do good. Good luck with the last few rounds Lei, onwards to another candidates victory
