I've had several, but the first one was when I was a wee un. I used to get visits from my maternal grandma at night, who had been dead for several years. Had never seen a photo of her, let alone a colour one, and totally freaked out my mother when I described her mother to her in detail, even down to the hankie she had in her pinny and the brooch she wore.

When I was on a school trip somewhere, there was a four poster bed right behind (no one was there) and I was poked on my sides- again no one was there. Could not and still not explain it. Anther was when I was wee, on the weekend, it was in the summer, in my bed-no windows open or air con and a ghost when through me, the area I was living in is a known hot spot for being haunted. I still cannot explain ether to this day.

Whole lot of them. I grew up in a haunted house. Never saw "ghosts", but there were cold spots, like pillars of cold even in a warm room, the feeling in the basement that something hated you that got stronger the longer you were down there, a dresser fell over for no reason, the water in the old fashioned tub would turn on full blast in the middle of the night, sounds of people walking around when nobody else was home, lights would randomly not work, and the cleaners under the pantry sink would have their caps screwed off and laid down next to the bottles. I'm probably forgetting some stuff as it was a long time ago. As for hospitals, I worked a job at the old Danvers State Hospital-an infamous early mental hospital where people were sometimes tortured and bodies were dumped in mass graves-when they were being renovated into condominiums(!). Sure, the place felt creepy, but while we were photographing our work, a security guard came over to see if we were "ghost hunters". We explained what we were doing and I laughed that it certainly felt like a good place to hunt for ghosts, which apparently gave him the permission he needed to vent about his own experiences with seeing lights on in the upper floors of the old building where there was not only no electricity at the time, but no physical floor (it had collapsed). His security shed lights would do what they pleased even though he had them checked out by electricians several times, all the cabinet doors would sometimes open up when he left the room, and he'd hear all kinds of strange sounds. A friend's brother later moved into one of the condos. I warned him, but he thought it was bullshit. He ended up becoming a reluctant believer and moved out after a short time.

Looking forward to a month of creepy stories. I’m a retired cellular pathologist and used to work in an old Victorian hospital, todays story made me laugh, it’s just so familiar! I used to be in the labs late at night often up to midnight but the main exits from the department ran through the basement which was always in darkness by that time, and the long corridor ran by the morgue and the Chapel of Rest, and as you were walking down this dark spooky corridor you could guarantee that an automatic tissue processor or stainer would suddenly activate, spring to life, making a horrendous noise that you just didn’t notice during the day, but in the darkness and silence it would scare the living daylights out of me, I never got used to it!

Creepy story! I worked for 19 years in a textile mill where many of the buildings were 70+ years old. We had many security cameras around the premises. I was shown several times where doors were caught opening by themselves, and once a figure would appear outside and then disappear. When the mill was closing down I was one of two people who were there loading up machines, watching the building, etc. I and my partner both saw a dark figure standing in a doorway at the distant end of the building, which we could find no one when we went to look. I also heard voices and footsteps early in the morning when I was the only one there. When you were telling the story I had chills remembering. Love watching you!

I work in a mental health intensive care hospital. One time last winter I finished work, and was walking to my car in the car park. It was really dark and late, so everyone had gone home, so my car was one of the only ones left in the middle of the car park. I started the car and my rear parking sensor alerted me that something was behind me. I knew there was no fence, and couldn't see anything behind me, so I pulled out my space and drove away. In my rearview mirror I could see the dark silhouette of a person just standing where my car was parked, watching me drive away. I've been working here another year since then and never had anything like that happen since.

She doesn't believe in ghosts, but that didn't prevent my sister from seeing a white cat in her home, shortly after her own gray tabby cat died. Some time after that, I was in her living room, and she was in another part of the house, when I saw the door to the toilet move about a foot. That was just far enough for a cat to get out from behind the door, if there had been a cat.

I lived in a house with four other relatives. Heard another person calling me, went to find out what they needed, turns out they were not home. Nobody of the same gender was home. It became a regular occurrence, there were times you would hear someone calling to you only to find there was no one home. This continued for months until we finally moved out. Turns out the previous resident had committed suicide just prior to us moving in. Even the German Shepard would get freaked out.

There's a hospital in Seattle (at least as of a few years ago, I no longer know). The elevator stopped regularly on the third floor. Staff would explain that it was a mechanical problem. But why couldn't they ever fix it? I'm not buying the story. Funny thing is this hospital actually is across the street from a cemetery. I used to always joke that their patients crossed the street to get to the other side.

Hey Erin, I've got one for you! I use to live in a 4 story complex; that use to be Senior Assistant Living Apartments. So, you konw people died in there. One night around 10 p.m. I had to go down to do some Laundry. After I started my Laundry I was sitting in the Lobby waiting. As I was looking down at my phone; I heard the elevator bell ring to indicate the door was opening. Out of my peripheral vision I see the elevator doors open and a shadow moves out and along the wall and just disappears. I was like what the what‼️ I never looked up from my phone; I just pretended as if I didn't see it. Needless to say I moved as soon as I could. Yep that place had some souls that were not ready to leave this world.

Couple of thoughts: First, your shirt reminded me of a couple movies I still need to watch this year before Halloween. Somehow the Ghostbusters movies didn’t make it onto my Playlist for the month. Second, my father-in-law who worked all his life doing heating and air conditioning installation and maintenance (HVAC and Controls, I think is what it was called) said that as temperatures change each season, the duct work in buildings might contract or expand a little which can make some weird noises like pops and bangs. I'm totally not saying that is definitely what you experienced. I wasn't there, so I can't say how well my idea fits. It absolutely could have been something paranormal.

A few weeks ago I was making bread. I set some milk and butter on top of the stove on low heat then went on to watch TV for a minute. Got distracted and forgot all about my baking. The I hear this huge crash in my kitchen. My baking pans I keep propped up between my microwave and fridge had been knocked on the floor. Then I noticed and remembered I had put milk and butter on the stove. It was almost all evaporated. Thanks ghost. P.S. I live alone.

I believe you, oh yes I believe you. I work nights and I’m alone as well, I have seen “someone” and when I asked my boss she said “oooh you seen it 😣, sorry I don’t say anything until someone brings it up.” She doesn’t want ppl to think she’s crazy and also doesn’t want to lose the night worker which are hard to keep. She said that the ppl who usually notice are those that are night owls even if it’s during the day. Well whatever it is knocks things off shelves and enjoys making a mess. Last week it made the coffee pot overflow, what a damn mess. 😩 It seems to enjoy starting the full coffee pot and having it spill out everywhere. It’s already happened like 3 times but only when someone is there alone. You have to press and hold the start button for the brew to start 🤷🏽‍♀️

When I was a kid under 5. I was in my crib and woke up and saw what looked like a lady with a glow around her. She look like a white woman with brown hair and in a white dress. The apparition looked peaceful and was just watching me. I got scared and my dad came in and he didn't see anything but took me to the living room and to this day I still remember what was on the tv. What did I see and was I awake or a sleep? Did I see a Goddess or ghost or angel. I have no idea. I do remember waking up first but then again in ancient mythology, such as the Iliad and the Odyssey Gods appear in dreams. Like I said I remember being awake. The being appeared to look like a white woman with brown hair in a plain white dress with a glow around her whole body standing in the middle of my room just watching me with the most peaceful look on her face. I do remember being scared and screaming. When my parents got me my first bed they placed it up against the wall and fearing the being would show up again I always sleep against the wall and this day, even though I'm no longer afraid the being will show up again, the only way I can fall asleep in my bed is by facing the wall. It been my oldest memory that been with me my whole life and feel so real but to this day I don't know what happen or what I saw but like I said it said it feel like it happened!

What if you did a video telling some of our ghost stories? Here's one from my dad! He used to work at a retirement home as a maintenance guy. There was this one old man who groaned all day and night, my dad said-this man would just moan. Poor thing. Eventually, he passed on, and it was time for my dad and his friend to go repaint his room. They were listening to the radio like usual, when it started to go in and out of static. And in the static, they BOTH heard this man's moan just like he was alive. Freaked them out enough that he still talks about it 20 years later!

This was proper scary! Loved it! Always enjoy your creepy videos! And unexplained noise/voices freak me out too. Also, skeptical but there's so much we don't know. And since you asked about creepy experiences, there was one time as a kid my sister and I heard voices like a party going on behind a locked door. The sign on the door said pool room and there were sounds of splashing, and laughing and just the light whisper of music. Found out later there was no party, there was no music, there wasn't anyone in that room, there wasn't even water in the pool; there hadn't been for years...so yeah. Another time my mum swore she saw a shadow man follow me. Not my shadow, but a man made of shadow. But when I turned around there was nobody there. Again loved this! Thanks Erin!

In my town there is an old Victorian workhouse, converted into apartments for the over 55s. And on the edge of the next town there is a former Victorian lunatic asylum, also converted into apartments. Both West Shepton and Horrington sound like the sort of rather institutionalised old place where you used to work. When I walk past the workhouse in West Shepton I see the new Hondas and Toyotas and neatly trimmed borders and I expect most of the folks who live there have spent a middle class English Sunday evening in their homes furnished by Laura Ashley and John Lewis, watching BBC1 Country File and then Antiques Roadshow, and declaring over a bottle of wine how nice it is to be living on the edge of the country. Perhaps the odd paranormal experience might shake up their lives a bit. I sometimes have dreams which might be paranormal. In the last one I met a chatty and quite intelligent girl rather younger than myself, at a Somerset carnival. Carnival is something that basically only people who are Somerset born-and-bred get into. You don't often meet people from out of the county involved in Carnivals. But her home was not a former council house in my town, on the Ridgeway or the Hillmead. It was on a scheme on the edge of Glasgow and her two kids were getting near to the age when she had her first. House in a state of busy untidiness and kids not actually there. The shoes by the door were the giveaway. And the only other detail the dream allowed me was a look at the sort of memento on that you see on the mantelpiece in half the households in Glasgow, but never in the other half. I have read most of your comments and like some of the others, I can remember every detail of the dream, and like some of the others I have had you can't stop it coming back to you sometimes. But the experience is frozen, and there is nothing you can do to fill in the missing bits that you would like to know about.

When I was very young my Dad was in the U.S. Army; when we moved back from Germany to the US our house wasn’t ready so we had to rent something off base. The first thing that happened was the toaster oven would turn on by itself and melt the bread container on top of it. My two brothers and I slept in the basement and one night my Mom came down very angry and said “I told you not to yell from down here!”, we didn’t know what she was talking about. The scariest time was when we were all eating dinner and we heard footsteps upstairs like someone was stomping, slowly, with heavy boots on; I just remember everyone stopping and looking up at the ceiling. Another time everyone was gone but my Mom; she was try to take a nap and heard an evil laugh coming from her bedroom door, she looked and nothing was there. More things happened but those are the big ones. Take care. 🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Now I want to tell you what happened!!! I was waiting for a new bed so I was sleeping on a single mattress on the living room floor. I was having a dream, and though I can't remember what the dream was, I was choking in it so badly I began to thrash about so wildly that I woke myself up. ( It was in the morning and the room was lite up with daylight) As I opened my eyes I saw a jet black figure with a featureless face, it was as if it was made from black velvet, standing over me from behind with it's hands around my throat. For a split second I froze, then I let out a shout and tried to sit up, and as I did the figure seemed to split down the middle and half of it went into one corner and half into the other. I jumped up onto my feet rubbing my throat and looking around. Everything happened so quickly Erin that I just assumed I had awakened during sleep paralysis and the dark figure was some manifestation of this, so I didn't think to much about it. As it was about 5 or 6 in the morning I just got up and never gave it anymore thought. So the following night, I was still on the mattress, I went to sleep no problem. But I had the same dream again, but this time something ',twigged', in the dream, I stopped thrashing about and somehow just knew to force my eyes to open, when I did there was the same figure with it's hands around my throat. There was no hesitation. I let out a roar and lunged towards the figure and tried to grab it's solid black featureless face, going for where the eyes should be. Once again it 'broke up', half it going to the corner of my right side half going to the left. I jumped up rushed to the right corner of the room, again the room was light, but I could not see anything. My heart was beating madly and I was really angry, and that was it. Nothing more ever happened. It was a few years later Erin that I discovered accounts about Shadow people, and after researching them I consider myself to be very lucky. I think why I had no more trouble was because I showed no fear, they seem to be able to tell if you are scared. The KZreadr Mr Ballen has a terrifying account of a record producer who was having a problem with a shadow person and was discovered dead with a look of terror on their face. When I looked at the footage on Tik tok, the clips showed the exact black type of figure that I seen. These are not spirits of the dead, they seem to absorb any light that falls on them. I believe that what we are seeing is an Eme, an electromagnetic entity that is somehow fused with A.I. I seen it split in half and break down into nothing, the room was light enough that had there been features on the face I would have seen it, afterall, it was only several inches away from my face. This is the first time I have spoken about it publicly and I stand by everything I have said, you should really look into these beings as a subject for a video, they are really terrifying and I have seen spirits, they are not the same thing.😁 .

Hi Erin, I once saw the ghost of a man at my friend's flat which was in what used to be the old Queens Hotel on Clyde Street in Helensburgh. He was dressed in 18th century? clothes with a ponytail (think Poldark) and boots, standing in a doorway with his arms folded and smiling. He was only there for a few seconds before fading away. I never moved so fast in all my life! I waited outside in the dark 'til the taxi came. 😱 Curious if the hospital you worked at was on the Cardross Road? I think it's called the Joint Hospital now. (Just a wild guess because it's in Dunbartonshire.) I've never been inside but I remember how spooky-looking it was. Thinking back, there were loads of spooky old buildings around Dunbartonshire. Are you familiar with a house on the Cardross road just outside Dumbarton known locally as the Cat's Castle? My sister used to live in a cottage on the grounds. I could tell you some wild stories about that place! Thanks for another great vid. Keep 'em coming! - Aly in Texas.

Oh wow that's so creepy! Aw I don't want to say the name of the hospital because it's my old work, but I do know the joint! I know cats castle, yep - I have friends who live up the hill opposite. Didn't realise it was haunted - would love to hear the stories :)

I was only 9 or 10 when my sister lived there, but the big house seemed really foreboding and there was definitely something paranormal going on in Hazelwood Cottage! Twinkle the cat would sit at the bottom of the stairs and hiss furiously at an unseen entity up by the landing, plus she refused to go up there. Once I picked her up, trying to reassure her while walking up the stairs and she slashed me to ribbons. She would NOT go up there, ever, which terrified me when I had to stay overnight. I always felt like there was somebody watching me. It was always freezing upstairs as well, even in summer. An old lady lived alone in the Cat's Castle back then and she was really sweet and used to sometimes invite us in for scones and tea, but she had cabinets full of Victorian china dolls and creepy wind-up music boxes and stuff and I found them quite scary. One of them was a porcelain bicycle/tandem with a creepy china couple on it and when she wound it up it would play "Daisy Daisy." I wish we could have a wee ginwag and talk about all these creepy stories 😂😂

I’m curious as to why there are so many superstitions in Scotland. Some of my Scottish ancestors were coal miners. They were superstitious about putting shoes on the table. That you would die if you put your shoes or boots on the table. I guess that was something that was done out of respect, if you lost a coal miner in the coal mines. If a coal miner died, you would put their shoes on the table. I don’t want shoes on the table because of germs…but I’m not superstitious at all. Anyhow, I would love you to talk about Scottish superstitions, why you have them, where they originated, and if you are superstitions yourself? Thanks!

I don't think it's purely a Scottish thing! But yeah there are a lot of the usual ones here like ladders, black cats etc but I actually don't know many people who are superstitious. The shoes one is one I learned in work. Will definitely do a video about specific Scottish ones though :)
