i always feel like i sound ridiculous when i say i’m grieving this game, but really, i am. it’s been in my life for 10 years, trough my formative years, trough some the worst times of my life, trough some of the best, i had one constant and it was star stable. i felt like sso would always be a part of me, my safe place. nowadays, logging in feels less like an enjoyable experience and more like a reminder that all those memories are long gone. it’s no longer star stable to me and it breaks my heart

I feel this. Watching SSO slowly become more and more unrecognizable is sad. It has great graphics now, but It's not the game that we used to play. There is something that simply is painful about that.

As a graphic designer I can understand the importance of nostalgia and the difficulty of modernising without losing that nostalgic touch. Personally I think it would have been better to use the old color ways and the general look and feel but give it a facelift so to say. There's easy ways to make the old design look refreshed without losing the key elements. The world is vibrant so slapping something see-through on it doesn't help either, it's not distinct or recognisable anymore. Could have been nice but oh well...

i think we were able to look over the “ugly” older gen horses because at the time the game had more to offer than just.. horses. it had an immersive story, aesthetic, environment. i can’t imagine how new players are able to be immersed/escape in the game when there’s SO MANY different art styles - not only the varying horse gens but the npcs, UIs, land, buildings… personally, even as a child that would be distracting and pull me out of the game/story. i don’t think this game has a direction anymore

bruh fr i never got to play star stable when it was super old, but it really bugs me how all the gen 3 horses look so inconsistent compared to the much older horses gen 2s & 1s obviously arent the most high quality & best models ever but imo, if star stable still had that gen 2/1 style itd be so much more pleasing bc of how consistent everything would be

I've been playing SSO from the very beginning, and to be honest, for me, the bazaar nature of its eternally unfinished state has its own kind of weird immersion. It's been this way for so long that it's simply become a part of the experience at this point. I can't recall the last time the art was consistent.

I loved this game and I used to play it all the time. I do agree that change is good for the times. But I just can't get over the new star stable. I think it's also star stable went from kinda realism to completely cartoon graphics. I think as an adult now I don't feel connected to sso anymore. I don't have a reason to play this game anymore. Edit : I think sso changing so much doesn't help when you barely play the game anymore and cant get use to the changes because you never play the game anymore. It's hard to get use to new things when you are not continuing exposing yourself to it.

This game used to bring me so much comfort, just riding from a to b and leveling my horses in peace, but the vibe of this game has changed so much. And I agree that the UI is just not screaming star stable, I like a lot of the changes but that one wasn't it.

im only at 4:06, but i agree. even just filming rrps with this game feels so…different? i don’t if it’s better or worse (if that makes sense). things are definitely more pleasing to the eye but i don’t feel like im playing star stable online anymore.

Agreed… even though the horses are amazing the graphics just don’t feel right specially when filming. It just feels very different from what it used to feel like..

So as a newer player( 2020) I did really love the old UI it felt very SSO it felt very unique to the game It didn't feel bad or crusty to me it was very easy to use and figure out I was never confused using it. Its only issue was it was saved as a raster instead of a vector which made it hard to fit onto all computer screens without stretchering , they did more work designing a new look than just tracing over the old raster files into something like adobe illustrator and than just updating them as vectors that way..like its so easy you could do it in less than a week. But sso wants the phone and computer versions to look the same and I think that was a very bad move in this case. It works okay on the phone cus the screen is smaller PC not so much They've also shoved everything into "menus" trying to make it look neat and tidy but its made everything more complicated having all the buttons down in the corner around the horseshoe was not only an iconic design that told me this is star stable but it was much nicer and simpler to use the new Ui looks like could belong in any game and it just feels sad to me.

you definitely hit the nail on the head with that description of the old UI. I still have to double check where things are on the new UI, whereas memorising where on the horseshoe an icon was was much simpler (it was not hidden away in a secondary menu so things were faster to access too)

I started playing SSO in August of 2013 when i was a literal tiny child and I can say i will never get used to the game either. The old graphics, sounds, aspects of realism, and the environment will just never be the same to me. I don’t get that same feeling when i play anymore and i never will. When i look back at old videos of the game, my heart sinks. to some it might seem stupid but they just do not get it. It’s like grieving, and i know a lot of people can agree with me.

Time can help I think. Or not. Yes the game changed, the character design is new, the horses are improving which is good, but we all as humans don't really like to get out of our comfort zone, don't really like to change from what we used to. I just think that these updates came so fast, we couldn't adjust to them. And then came another update and another one and started to be overwhelming. What I am trying to say that you are not alone and neither of us. It can be hard, some will adapt to these new things, some will give up and move on. There is no good choice. Don't try to think about it too much, be careful and take care!

What dragged me into the game was the starter horse in 2016-2017 they were so stiff and gross but I miss it. But getting older I'm losing interest in it. I don't hate the game but the old UI and other things about the game I miss because it was a part of my child hood. I met my two best friends on the game and we hardly ever get on because of personal lives. I fell in love with the game because I loved horses and storytelling. being able to create personalities for my horses and character being able to escape reality for a bit was great. But now I have to face reality and keep sso aside because I dont have much passion for the game any more. But I'm happy that the game is being played by a new generation and they are able to enjoy it because its so updated and high-tech it's more exciting to kids nowadays. Thats just how I look at it at least.

I started playing around 2017 and I remember always being so excited when I could get on my moms crusty, slow laptop to play sso. I wasn’t even star rider and I enjoyed the game SO much. I had to stop because it was crashing my moms computer lol. I started playing again in like 2021 when my dad got a new computer. I got star rider, and at the start of playing again, it was pretty fun, but that wore off after awhile. The game is just sort of boring now, like the magic is gone I guess

Honestly, I agree.. I didn’t join the same time but I joined maybe April of 2016. And I miss it, I was so obsessed with it, met my actual best friend through this game. And I miss it so much..I honestly didn’t think of new players. Of course the game wants new players and to satisfy og players but I think a lot of us aren’t very interested in the newer star stable you could say. Not interested in like we don’t want to play the game but I wish we had the older star stable, I dislike the newer characters and how they look, and it’s hard to match some outfits with them. I agree I definitely miss the old star stable.

yeah honestly I think some of the clothes look like pyjamas on the new characters... especially some of those western style tops

I loved the old old horses, the pointy joins and everything maybe cause i grew up on pointy horses (Ponygirl, Starshinelegacy, SS,SSO Barbie, DS Bella Sara,WEB Bella sara WEB Horseland) It felt more love in them. the game would try their hardest make a good story or let us have freedom, yeah cool nice horses and nice but.. idk feel like older game companies (Wizard 101 as example) still have their pointy pixels, and guess what they got a big boost in players recently (maybe tiktok) but they didnt change anything, and everything is the same. they even made an ad that they are happy us as adults are coming back to relive the journey. I just wish SSO did what AJHQ did. "Animal jam classic" "Animal jam" like... jus tto go back to old sso, "Star stable Online CLASSIC" like.. due Id love that.. santa, realistic winter, pointy jointed horses, old tack, old players models, I jsut wish they wernt making a "second game" non horse related, and was actually making old sso. hell, Id still buy starcoins on SSO CLassic if there was one.

I miss those days. the thing is that star stable hasn't shutdown or abandoned its creators but it feels like it changed the most to where it is not what it used to be. I'm happy they grew so much and where able to keep this game going with lots of updates... but there's just something about that old game that I used to play in 2014-2016...

I know what you mean, but in the end I think we'll get used to it and because of new memories it'll feel nostalgic again later on what happens now. I was so happy yesterday when I finally got to level 24 on my account. Level 23 has gone by so quickly (than the other previous ones), but it has taken me a lot of quests and riding after all.

The title is so real

Been with sso since 2012 and it‘s honestly a completely different game now. Especially miss the old soundtracks and soundeffects, as well as the warmer colours.

I have played since early 2020 and even I have a lot of nostalgia to what star stable used to be, everything has changed: the UI, the characters, the boosts you could get while racing, the horses kind of seem to run in the ground, even like the music, etc. I never got to experience the old-SSO, and partially I'm glad because I have nothing to miss or compare that to now, but partially I also wish I did experience it because everything seemed so much different back then. I'm a racer (highscores and champs), but because SSO keeps changing things like the speed, the boosts, the constant crashing we now have to deal with, etc. to me it's hard to stay motivated because the highscores would all be deleted as a result of those changes. I guess what I am trying to say is that, personally, I miss SSO being.. more simple, more.. like it was before. I know things won't go back to the way things were, don't get me wrong. Idk, I guess I just feel the same about finding it hard to adjust. But I will keep trying to stay motivated, because at the end of the day this is star stable, and it's a game I have played for a while now. And maybe, just maybe, in the future I will feel the same about SSO again as I did 3 years ago. I know that sounds weird, but at this point, what else can we do?...

Root beer gives me hiccups. Also, I grew up playing SSO, for 11~ years, it’s not the same. It’s not just about the graphics changing, it’s not the same art style or mystery novel that it was before. Comparing the old SSO, StarShine Legacy, and the old books, it was just a great mystery novel- it is incredibly different now. I felt like I was actually in the game, I could play it from the time I woke up till the time I went to bed (even if I wanted to do that now, I can’t do that anymore). SSO was personal, unique, impressionable, and so full of character. Lisa was a punk rock red headed child. It’s much different, and to be honest, it hurts seeing how different the game is. It’s not just a matter of a change of graphics, it’s the whole character of the game. I found a candle that reminded me of the original sso, I’ve been sniffing the crap out of it 💀

i love this game. i still do. i honestly just do not have the time and motivation to play a game where all i can do is run around and do races.

I've been playing SSO for 1,5/2 years now, since I was 17. So I'm not as attached to the old nostalgic game like most veterans are. But I too would've preferred some old stuff over the new things. For instance, I've never experienced the old, more realistic graphics and I wish I had, honestly. I also dislike that more and more NPCS are having their g2 horses swapped for new g3 ones... but it is what it is. Oh, btw, I think you explained so well to us what it's like to see the game change completely. And your attempt to look at the new SSO style from a new player's perspective and wondering what it's like for them was super insightful too. I think I belong in the 'newer player' group, although I'm already halfway through lvl 22.

I miss the old times too, the feeling of do quests, explore, was beautiful, now i know all about SSO, and i'm so sad because, i don't have the feeling of know something new about my childhood game, i started in 2017 i don't know the month, when all the wasn't updated, that graphic was just gorgeous than this we have now in the game, it seems more realistic than this cartoon graphic of the rocks and grass. For the UI, i don't like this we have now, i miss the old hoof around the map, literally a symbol, the new UI came out i remind a months or two ago and i still don't understand some symbols, i use the rapids key because if i search for the right thing i don't find it. For the character i prefer the old, this is just, weirdly weird. This game was my childhood and for a lot of people was the same, it's sad to see how the game change and you can't do nothing for take it back

I completely agree with this whole video! I remember when I had the game when I first saw it I was like “Omg these horses are beautiful!” And got so excited for champs, new old horses, and happy being with my own club/ friends. But, now I don’t see anyone on from back then we all have responsibilities and jobs… I still change horses 24/7 and get lazy from training trying to commit to it lol. Also, the game went from realism too uhhhh cartoon look which I’m curious where that’s gonna go in the future will it stay the same or look forward to realist animations something like red dead redemption or Alicia online later down the road? But, we will never know till later on.

11:00 well, I think it's because at that time not only SSO was barely the only horse game that existed, but it was one of the few innovative games with "better 3d graphics", open world, rp.... now we have better technologies so the old horses and graphics look crusty and ugly, but back then it was peak 3d modeling and animation😅

A toggle to switch on the old UI / graphics on or off would be a nice idea honestly; i understand that sso as a company has to move on and update their games, but i also feel like theyve changed sso into something so souless... the ui, the graphics, it seems too souless and just not what sso was before; I also gagree that the new UI and stuff feels veryyy moble and id hope sso isnt trying to drift away from pc lol also, i love your videos denis

me and my australian friend (im american) talked about this last night while on. We played back in 2015-2016 and i miss a lot of it, but i truly think its just the idea that we are adults now.

8:54 i'm 14 and i didin't get a chance to experience old sso, but it looked so much fun and cozy back then, even a little mysterious, now it just looks like fortnite, it's lifeless, bland, it's childish/family friendly, and there is no cozyness left to the game, and the worst part that it's unbelievably boring, there is literally nothing to do, i don't even like the quests because the storyline is so messed up

I find that I get scenarios where I will play for months and months, almost every day and then randomly stop for a whole year (or two). The daily penalty on your horses mood for not logging in is really annoying & the daily grind is kinda boring. For me, this game is really good for people who have a longer attention span and like grinding :p

As a sorta new player (joined in mid 2020 I believe) I will say how I feel about the game. I didn't get to play with the old UI very long because I lost wifi for about a year after joining and didn't get back into star stable until this year, but I still got attached to it. I had never actually played the game before 2020, but I still watched videos and remember trying to find a way to play it without a computer as a child. I didn't grow playing old star stable since my family couldn't afford a computer at the time, but I still grew up with it in a way through videos. I was still emotionally attached to old star stable even though I had never really experienced playing the old star stable. It's hard for me to adjust to all these changes when it doesn't look like the game I saw in videos as a kid. I do believe it was necessary and I'm so glad other new players are enjoying their experience, it's just hard.

Hi Denis Wisestorm I've seen you briefly a few times in passing on the way to a side quest. I'm Liza Starstrong in the game. I'm kinda a more newer player. My sister, Jamie Catforce in the game has been playing the game longer then I have I am sure she would sympathize with you and I'm sure she also likes a lot of the newer updated stuff, too. I know she gets a little confused when I ask for help to get some newer quests on my end done and even though she played that quest on her end, there might be a few things that did change with the occasional side quests that confuses her a bit. With her it's like specific little things with this side quest or that side quest and sometimes neither her or I can find any actual specific videos or information written about cheat hacks on it when researching so we just keep trying to figure it out until we can get it figured out. Lots of thinking outside of the box for sure. Call me unique but, I absolutely LOVE the Gen 1 Arabian Thoroughbreds. Even though they are bouncing when then are at their faster placed running, lol. I find it kind of cute and funny and maybe unique for that breed in the game and it does remind me of my 3 years old Labrador Retriever because he tends to get quite bouncy like that when he runs LMAO 🤣. For years I wanted a Morab but, I never could afford it and by the time I did have the money saved up for Star Coins to adopt a Morab in the game, I couldn't find them. I'm still hopeful and still searching feverishly for them in the game, even though my sister has told me that the SSO creators removed them from the game, quite a few years ago and it's a high possibility that they are not in the game anymore on a permanent basis.

I don't think disliking change makes you resistant to change. I just don't think the feel of the game was kept. The level up horse rear is very mobile in feel and the earn your abilities for the horse is just dull. Removing the need of regular horse care, for example you only need to give a horse water once a day, it never gets hungry or thirsty again, making the horse invincible, no consequences for riding dangerously etc are all game features that made you feel something. When I started playing SSO it struck me as a game asking you to make a connection with horses with good horse skills and fun at it's heart. They took away quite a bit of this feeling, and by doing that it made it too easy. It took away the reasons to care about your horse and to care about the story. I think another problem was how the community changed. Discord made the need to talk to anyone in game just disappear. I think discord gave a great way to run clubs, but most chat takes place away from the game now. You don't see the community do much together in game either. Events used to feel much more group based, even if you didn't know anyone. I don't think I'm just nostalgic. I would still play if they had kept more of the horse realism and focus on real life equestrians, more of the original muted colours, had more care for how quests run, kept some of the iconic events such as midsummer etc. It is like SSO forgot it's own character. I'm fine with change, but make changes that are good ones. The only event I liked in a long time was the recent renegade/gold mining with the wolves. At least there was a challenge and a goal to it. They need to at least do more things like that.

I understand. I’m still in the mindset that I have to repeatedly hit the W key to stay in the fast gallop state 😅 sso has changed so much. And it can be overwhelming sometimes.. I think I started back in 2017? Maybe? Got star rider in 2020 but I know I had it quite a few years before that. I think the reason you and everyone else that started playing sso back in the beginning was because there was (kinda still is) no other game like sso. It was a new experience for everyone. In that regard being Star struck is expected. I think that’s how new players still feel. Just, with different things. I’m also struggling with the new control stuff, like having a button to accept friend requests, group invites, and club invites. Now that’s gone. New sso makes me feel like a grandma trying to learn to operate a phone 😂😅

i am one of the new players joined star stable about one year ago and i had hige hope for the game but after under half a year i was finnis with allmost all the quest that the game had to offer and got borde of it but, the thing about the new UI is that is ether too big or too smal so that my eyes hurt. i liked the old one since it was more cleaner and easy to understand, not to big or small i got used to it quick and i felt the love people had when it was made and then the new UI i came with the new updates and i hate it. it is bland not fun and every button on the screen is annoying. trying to get to the club without using hotkey is tiring and just more work it take space and when i want to go to my horse profiel to change tack I MISS THE DAMN BUTTON AND GET SENDT TO LEVELING UP HORSE WHEN I AM IN A RACE OR RUNNING AUROND i hate it and i rather dont have the UI showing at all then dealing with it as it is now. but when i race it comes up. star stable are making me go crazy with this new UI.

I loved the 2017 SSO, I hated 2019-2021 SSO and now I love 2023 SSO Finally after all of these years it feels kinda consistent in style. I play mostly as a controlled part of my after-study routine to cool down and relax a little. Just training my tens of horses and doing quests or events occasionally I.. I love it. I love the new UI and this new feeling of something what i hated and sweared not to play ever again

I agree with you Denis, I joined star stable mid/late 2019 and I got more into it during the pandemic, sso made staying at home easier. When I first was playing the soul riders where still in their old graphics, I prefer their new graphics. Like most new graphics in the game, its nice to have a change and update things. I do miss the old character graphics, I had to look at those graphics for so long and then they changed, I appreciate sso wanting to be more realistic, but I think it's just going to take me a while to get used to the updated characters. Yes the graphics and horses and whatever are better, but the game feels like a super easy game on girlsgogames or something now. The colour scheme and the quests and everything is just so different now, I want the old feel of starshine legacy back.

i used to play star stable when i was younger (when the starter horses were literally crusty dinosaurs). but i didnt play for that long because i knew my mom would never let me get star rider so i kind of just stopped playing and went back to my console games.(pretty much just zelda) i picked it back up when i stared high school (im a senior now). so i guess technically i could be considered a new player. i've always been a horse girl and i'll probably always be one. but its kind of universal knowledge that horse games are just so lackluster and there isnt really a single GOOD horse game other than star stable. star stable is quite literally The Horse Game if you think about it. really there's no other games out there. (unless you count rdr2 which you really cant because its not a horse game. the horse mechanics are just really good, but the game isnt centered around horses). I guess what im saying is, star stable kind of has to hold the whole horse game community up. so i think with the new horses and UI (which i agree is really boring and lacks that charm the old one had) are kind of like star stable trying keep people satisfied with the fact that it really is the only GOOD horse game. (though there are SO many things that could just make it so much better. but thats a conversation for another time.) To answer your question, Denis, as a "new player" i really enjoy the charm of the game. i love the horses (even some of the old crusty ones). though once you run out of horses to train it feels like theres nothing to do in the game. i still have a lot of quests to do but honestly the story is boring and lackluster and theres no incentive to do them other than to unlock new areas. in the end, i really only play for the horses (specifically the paints).

Honestly I agree, I’ve been playing less and less… with the recent changes of training horses my response is: bitch, I’m gone! Now I only log in to see what else is changed, I now regret begging my dad for the lifetime payment, I’d give away all my magic horses to go back to the simpler times of star stable online.

I honestly just started sso 3 years ago (I played with the ssl and ss games when I was a kid but whatever), and I also find I don't like the new horses too much. While I agree the old horses were weird and crusty, I generally think that the beginning of gen3 for horses was (and still is) the peak for me. Are the horses more realistic now and have better animations? Sure. But I feel like newer horses (not all though, but some) has lost a lot of their charms compared to the early gen3 Lusitano, Andalusian, AQH, etc. I know these horses look dorky compared to the newer ones, but for me they just had *something* that some of the new horses are missing (at least for me)...

As I joined the game in 2020 I was used to the old avatars tbh…and I honestly feel the same I mean it’s not a bad change i just personally don’t like the new Sso as much as I did before and since the Change I haven’t played much I mean I understand why they had to change but still

I feel like everyone hating the game is just kinda ruining it for themselves with expectations or nostalgia. The gen three horses are beautiful, the new characters are so pretty, it's got a strong storyline, it's not expensive, there's lgbtq+ representation... It's just such a great game? I started playing back in 2015 and I'm glad this game is living up to its potential. Old players creating this divide with the new players feels a bit elitist to me. Like old players are complaining about the game while still actively playing it and broadcasting how it "sucks" and "doesn't feel the same". This can actually really give people the wrong impression of the game. More than any changes in the game, the thing that really annoys me is the spoiled and entitled attitude of the old players that I've had to listen to for actual years now. Yall were saying the same shit back in 2015, in 2017, in 2020. Stop holding the game accountable for your feelings. If you don't like it then stop playing. It's that easy.

Yeah I miss the way it was when I joined again back in 2019, they still had the old quests, mostly old graphics.i made an account when i was younger but forgot about the game...so i missed the prime of SSO it's unfortunate. And I can't stand the new UI, it looks crowded and everytime i go on, it really, really bothers me. I understand it's changing but it doesn't have the same vibe, everything now is about money so it's souless, i miss the old 2000's games, people put so much passion in games, entertainment etc back then. It's so rare to find that these days, it's super sad. People started remaking older games( Moshi Monsters, Club Penguin, Pixie Hollow, i also play Webkinz) so I've been playing that instead of SSO, i don't really have much desire to go on anymore

I too miss the older version of the game. I haven’t wanted to play it in a long time, mainly due to the fact NOW that the new characters are a bit off-putting. But I think we do forget that games change and upgrade to their own standards aside from the desires of the players. Their target audience is younger than us old players now, and kids will always enjoy it and always bring in money for the SSO company. However, It became an overwhelmingly upgraded money pit for those who have played it since day 1. Why is everyone always complaining about sso updates? The game is getting better and better and yeah we can dislike some updates but discord is trying its hardest for the members, fixing bugs, listening to your complaints, etc. Y’all asked for body sizes, they gave u body sizes, ur asking for new horses, better graphics, etc. AND THEY GIVE U IT. STOP COMPLAINING OMG.

players like you are the blindest in the community ever. game isnt getting better in any matter of mechanism, interactions, events or quests. its all dull and lifeless, the whole game. and no its not nostalgia before you push that off me. i played games way before sso, and they didnt REPLACE their game but rather update it, and i feel just as excited when i open those games. now what abt sso? “they do what we ask for”. they dont. people asked for skinnier body type ever since they set the first beta. we got nothing. they released a half done work when players asked them not to and to keep working on it, they promised to keep improving and they didnt. no changes ive noticed in 4 months since they were released. they pushed the characters on us so we will shut up about them and they can claim “oh they did what we asked” no they did not. we asked them to wait, to make it better, give us skinnier bodytypes, and instead they threw it in our face with the empty promise that they will fix it. they didnt and its been close to a half year. its the same situation when a baby cries for a candy and you push a candy down its throat aggressively and tell it to shut up bc she got what she wanted. they didnt fix bugs that has been around for years and got reports about it repeatedly. they dont UPDATE anything, but REPLACE everything. this game is not star stable. its a half done copy of the game that failed really hard. and yes i know they need to update things i agree w that. highlighting the word UPDATE and not REPLACE. their prices are ridiculous compared to what we get for paying. drowning in glitches and bugs sitting in game for 4+ years. and the game is going in the wrong direction cuz of people like you feeding their egos instead of acknowledging that what they are doing with their game is beyond bad. if this is the case they shouldve just made another game and name it “worse star stable” instead of ruining the one we had.

i think its kind of the same what happend to sims. like yes sims 2 had a "bad" graphic but the details bro? like it had physics while sims 4 has better graphic but hasn't so many lifefull details that let us feel that it isn't the same anymore. The game isn't how it used to be it truly hurts. " But oh the game needs to update " yes I understand. But what kind of GAME doesn't listen to their players? For example, a great game called Wolfauest 3 is truly worth it. The devs care about the players and about nostalgia. They legit added a DLC for the old soundtrack of their old game ( 2.7 ) just for us nostalgic players. They made an ENTIRE updated version of their game and left their old one. Unlike STARSTABLE who quite literally changed up everything so we cannot go back no matter what. Yeah sure the horses were ugly and unrealistic. But we enjoyed it. We enjoyed the vibes and everything. We asked sso for a lot of things! And they gave us what we asked for. But now theyre doing literally the opposite. Shit game, and besides that they made everything more expensive. The graphics are terrible. ( also I heard they're changing the UI not sure?) Can we just take a moment to see how they're making it so lifeless? It's so boring it's not a PC horse game. ( glad to hear it's coming on android too tho) Also, we, as characters, looks so SMALL compared to everything. I also hate fortmaria it fkin takes 100 years to get to it, I always avoid that quest cause it's so SO boring to get off ur horse and walk so dam far away, the quests aren't what they used to be and that sucks, it's so BORING?? Training isn't any fun either, once ur horse is 15 u just leave it locked up in ur stable because it's just.. It's gotten boring to look at 🤨? The prices, don't get me on the prices. A single horse is apprx 20$ ?! A SINGLE HORSE. 20$ doesn't sound as much to some people but for us balkans it's a LOTTTT .. The new characters... God they look like ugly boogly robotic toddlers, I tried to make an outfit and I thought it looked eh until I looked closer and I realized " oh I look like a fkin toddlee " then I took everything off.. Sure, the hairs costing shillings now is cool, but it was kind of fun yk just paying in starcoins, yk, getting that weekly allowance and speeding to the hair salon or whatever to buy your dream haircut... Or just over all getting horses.. But it's not always fun anymore. They took everything away from us and won't listen to us. People are getting falsely banned, etc.. While the old sso actually listened to us. I barely even log on anymore, I try to get some nostalgia but I just can't. So Denis, your feelings are 100% valid and I relate to you A LOT

I find it boring because after so much time they still havent much of horserelated quests. They also sell themselves with mysteries ans so on, when in reality the game is about building freaking bridges between ml and wolfhall and running back and forth with random folks on the back … theres very little interesting about it anymore. Another thing is how expensive it is. There is nothing to do without continually buying new horses, this brings me to this game would have been dead if it werent for other apps like discord. Where we can have clubs and meet people and just do the game, time kill, together in different ways. And sso do not acknowledge this at all, which is frustrating. You arent allowed to say discord in chat either, ut sexual words is all fine.. 🧐

I disagree, it’s not just a matter of being a kid, while that helps, it isn’t the only reason. The whole game has changed incredibly, the story, the art (not just talking about graphics), SSO was a mystery novel back then. I use Lisa as an example of the change all the time, she used to be a punk rock red head. The game was much more alive as well, so many players to interact with, so many cliques within the game, just a lot going on. There’s a matter of being a kid, yes, but there’s also a matter of a very different game. While there’s obviously still a lot of similarities, because in its core it’s the same game it once was, it is very obvious the modern day trends have overtaken what it once was. But then again, I’m sure it followed some of the trends then (low rise pants for example). The game had a whole different atmosphere. I still remember the days I would press play and a door would open and zoom me into the game, as if I was actually traveling to another world, an “escape” if you will. Games to this day, still have that impact, no matter the age. TLDR; not just being a kid and yes I miss the 2014 SSO and earlier.

@@bearlyplaying True, but if what SSO is now was the SSO we had back then, you would have loved it just as much. Change is a necessity it happens to everyone and everything SSO could never just stay the way it was or they would never keep up. There is a whole new audience of people coming to SSO, kids like we used to be. All as eager and excited to escape to Jorvik. In 5 years those same kids will be saying they miss “the old SSO”. It’s all perspective.

I've accepted the fact that they just want to cater to new players 🫠 I understand it, but it does feel as though there's a lot of other things they haven't (and won't) take our feedback on. I've played this game for 8 years and it's SO different it is insane. Every time I log on I feel like I'm grieving the nostalgia all over again. At the end of the day they just want money, but it would be nice if they could give us back some of the old features 🤷‍♀🤷‍♀
