Borges' memory was amazing. After he became blind he continued to write through dictation stories, essays, lectures. Insightful stories, essays, and lectures, remembering the books and stories he'd read before he became blind. His essays on Dante are a great introduction to the Divine Comedy. Brilliant man.
Here I am with tough case of the flu. I just a couple hours ago I had a fever and was even a bit delirious. And i can attest to this, being bedridden with a throbbing headache has made me meditate a bit on how I should take care more of my body. It also made me think, or speculate, what death could be like. Great video, great work. I've read this Borges story, but i never made the Nietzsche connection. Also, Nietzsche thing about the eternal recurrence is very likely a thing which he grabbed from the ancient Stoics called the configuration of the cosmos. Pretty interesting stuff.
Your channel is invaluable.
« That nethermost self, which was, as it were, entombed, and which had grown dumb because it had been forced to listen perpetually to other selves (…) at last it spoke again » Here’s to hoping that 2024 will enable us all to take note of the sentiment written above, and put it to good use
