The algorithm doesn't deserve you!! I was never the biggest old school DOOM fan but I did enjoy the recent reboot. That said, I picked up on so many subtle references to the game. Incredibly well done. Plus a great looking cocktail to boot. Superb video, as always, David. Cheers, my friend!!

I'm still playing the 2016 DOOM, it's so difficult since my mind still thinks in 1993 Doom gameplay terms apparently 😅 I hope you find this recipe OK, I know the cranberry is a bit of a risk as it can temper the flavor of a cocktail, but hopefully it still packs a nice flavor! I always feel nervous when I put up an original recipe and know someone like you who is a super-expert will see it! 😬 Thanks for watching!!

You did not just do that.. Doom!!!! Used to have LAN parties when that came out... I have Rum Fire, which I'll sub for the rumbar, but I am going to the grocery store now for cranberry and grapefruit! Not sure when we'll make this this weekend, since I know it will end the night early... Maybe during the Eagles game, since the whole Hurts / Hurt me Plenty thing...

Matt! So glad you enjoyed it, this definitely was a passion project doing this episode, I definitely spent many hours as a kid playing DOOM on Hurt Me Plenty mode. Rum Fire will probably work even *better* than Rum Bar to be honest! If you end up making it, I hope you enjoy it! It's quite a bizzare punch of flavor, and definitely hits hard booze-wise. I love the Hurts/Hurt connection 😍 Go Birds!!

I still play DOOM 1 on my gba sp before bed sometimes.. such a funny port, but works shockingly well!

I’ve missed watching your vids my friend! This line up is potent but 🔥 perfect for the season. I use lemon extract for my fire, less expensive and burns longer. Good to see you shaking one up and lookin cool! Cheers!

Thanks so much, Ann!! I recall you mentioning the lemon extract trick, that is awesome. I also like that it doesn't add any unwanted accidental additional 151 to the cocktail (which I sometimes do if I over-soak the crouton), I'll have to try it! Good to hear from you! Hope you're well!

ha! most definitely.. I feel like this is one I might want to tweak a bit, to help support the spice flavors, and I certainly hope others toy with it as well to their liking. But yes... first time I made this, I was heavily affected in a short amount of time.. so much booze!!!

Man that's nice, few things I love more than tiki and doom +doom music. This will be done next. I don't have any 151 demerara, swap for just a bit more regular demerara?

Awesome, so glad you enjoyed it!! My wife had suggested the "DOOM" idea, and I was extremely excited to run with it, glad you dug it! So I would say two things, for the actual 151 Demerara in the recipe, you could swap for a regular Demerara (El Dorado 5 / ED12 ), but then for that "hellfire" (if you choose to do it) you'll just need another overproof equivalent, whether thats Don Q 151, or Bacardi 151, but something with a super high proof would work. Hope you enjoy the cocktail!! Cheers!

Haha! Very true, like our Memento parody we did. Also, it is kind of amazing we never had any booze in our dorm.. though, I guess we were all under 21 at the time.. which I realize is also a poor excuse when going to a big university.. 😅

This sounds very lovely. I find it hard to come by an overproof demerara rum outside the US (at least that is what it looks like), what would be a somewhat good replacement? Simply up the amount of OFTD? Also I only know of lemon hart and hamilton, any other brands that I am missing?

Lemon Hart and Hamilton are the only demerara 151 brands that I'm aware of.. but in this particular case, I would say you could probably just use regular demerara rum (like an ED12 or maybe even an ED5), since I originally added it more for flavor than power (hence the 1/4oz only), In my opinion the remaining overproof rums will be more than enough to keep the booze-intensity high! if you get the chance to make it, I hope you dig it! Thank you!
