Jungle Slow Cruise: A complex Jungle Bird riff
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this episode, Ivy Mix provides us with a riff on a riff, based on Ryan Liloia's take on a Jungle Bird from their bar Leyenda in Brooklyn, NY. Inspired by a trip through the Jamaican jungles, this riff provides an expanded complexity on the already-great Jungle Bird recipe, making for a killer cocktail.
Jungle Slow Cruise by Ivy Mix
½ oz (15ml) Lime Juice
¾ oz (22ml) Pineapple juice
¼ oz ( 7ml ) Demerara Syrup
¼ oz ( 7ml ) Passion Fruit Syrup
½ oz (15ml) Campari
½ oz (15ml) Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac
¼ oz ( 7ml ) Cruzan Blackstrap Rum
½ oz (15ml) Wray & Nephew Overproof (or RUm Bar)
1 oz (30ml) Appleton 12 yr old
Shake with ice, serve over crushed ice in collins glass.
Garnish with mint sprig.

Randomly found this video and I love it. It's like Nostalgia Critic and Spike's Breezeway Cocktail Hour had a baby

Thanks Sean! It’s a killer cocktail for sure, big props to Ivy Mix
I disagree about being a good trade, but I don't live with you... I'm sure Sparkle would feel the same way about me... Gonna try this over the weekend! Or today, after I get done mulching...

Bless you, buddy. Indeed, I’m sure our better halves would sometimes love to trade us for a good cocktail. Sometimes 😅 also, happy anniversary again to you two! Thanks for watching as always!
Love the introduction, and outro!! I love such tiki cocktails but I tend to drink them too quickly as they often taste less punchy than they really are. Any tips, so I don’t have to go home at half time?

Jimboooo. Indeed, these beasts go down too smoothly. It helps to go for the ones that lean into the bitter, it can help bring the spirits forward so they’re less disguised under the juice or syrup. Citrus forward, or ones with amaro can help with that, or super strong ones like old zombies or navy grog can be forced-sippers as well 😅
