Strange. Grand Marnier isn't tart... it's sweet and rich. Absolutely delicious. I suspect that Sam's/33 probably uses a sweeter coconut "rum" (sadly) like Malibu coconut rum liqueur. Who knows? Only a guess if the drink reads tart. Cheers!

Okay, full disclosure! I always appreciate Spike telling us about his challenges along with his success. I was making this drink and had almost all the ingredients (including the rum, I know) when I knocked over the mixing cup and it went all over the counter! I had no more orange juice so I subbed POG and made the rest of the drink per recipe. Pretty good, might be better with the oj but this is definitely one to have again. Thanks Spike!!!

I like this drink a lot. I was very happy when they had all the ingredients for this one on the cruise a drank a bunch of them lol

I really appreciate the knowledge you share and am all in for anything tiki. Heading to Waikiki towards the end of summer. Do you or anyone else reading this have recommendations for places in Waikiki? Love food theming but have grown to appreciate complex quality drinks. Any recommendations are super appreciated!!!!!!

La Mariana, the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Hale Ku Lani, and Skull and Crown Trading

Could see this as a low abv crowd pleaser drink. Something people could walk around with for a while with all that volume.

I really like the Don Q Coco Rum (coconut). I think it's a little better than the Cruzan. Great video! :)

I tasted it in Florida. It was super good!

Spike! You used the wrong mug! Lol! You need the Miehana mug by Kevin Kidney. Also, the history: There is a Miehana orange juice-based drink designed especially for this mug by Jeff Berry. The mug is matte black with an orange glazed interior.
