I am native german and can say that this is one of the better performances of german language.. of course he has an american accent, but if you take it in this exmaple, the butcher lives already 30 years in america undercover and after this long period i would also have an american accent. For example the word "überall" (when he says "wir sind überall") is well spoken and the letters "Ü,Ä,Ö" are very hard to pronounce for americans..

When i saw that Schlitz beer was being served up, i just knew shit was about to go sideways…

If they ever do a straight remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I want Dylan Baker to play the Cook. It'd be a spot on performance

My God, the way Biff switches characters that fast one he realized his facade was up was up right scary. Kudo to Dylan Baker. He did a phenomenal job at playing this character.

Shock had already set in... She was not thinking clearly after the initial shock. But, she should have been trying to run or hit him when he was close. At some point your limbs move automatically to survive no matter what the conscious brain is doing...

This was one of the only scenes in a tv show that just blew me away. That guy is an incredible actor.

2:50 his eyes as he almost whispers in German to his next victim are chilling… and the line “you didn’t survive…you marinated…and what a hungry boy I’ve been” is about the most cold blooded threat I’ve ever heard.

I guess I must like watching it too. Kind of an original idea ... and it gets the adrenaline flowing. Understanding the reason why people like watching this stuff ... even fictitious imaginings of no-regret violence ... is one of the main keys to unlocking the human condition. Not that it needs to be stopped or cured ... just understood, and managed.

Jacob Odom that man's performance makes you feel his evil, he obviously didn't care the harm he caused this woman in the past, especially if he took out everybody at once. I love what he says, "you didn't survive you marinated!" He killed her spirit before killing her, what a brilliant actor.

There were several other ways to defuse the situation, but at 1:43 or so when he drops the facade, you can almost see the relief on his face as he grabs the gun. Like he said, he never liked that life, and merely by his expression you can see that he's glad for the excuse. That's great acting!

I don’t think it was relief I think that reaction was more of a “fuck it” or “really” because again that was 30 years of work and I’m another scene he says the their plan was almost finished just to almost be foiled like that I think it was more of like a disappointment than anything because you know….the family and life he had to build was part of the plan even if he hated them

You can when they are two separate scenarios. The setting for the meltdown was to expose a murderer. The setting immediately changed when said murderer comically dropped everyone in attendance including his wife and three children so he could have a private intimidating conversation with a woman. The setting for the tough talk is someone who knows they're dead and doesn't want to give their killer the satisfaction. Not so much "bad writing" as it is limited viewer analysis.

ah good ol schlitz, I am glad they included that in this show. It's apparently not even good beer, but my grandfather had a bunch of their merch from when he managed liquor stores back in the day.

The fact that this scene is continuous and has no cuts still blows my mind

I love how helpless and confused people are when someone recognizes a threat or problem.

I like this scene. What starts out as a backyard family BBQ a place where you feel safe warm and welcome. Quickly turns to into fear and dread. The feeling of being all alone with the bad guy. Completely helpless.

One of the coolest openings I have ever seen

Anyone that watches this 3 minute scene and navigate to another show is beyond me. I was committed. I had NO idea how far this was going to go. In a later scene, you can see the kids floating in the pool. So many jaw dropping events throughout the season. Highly produced. Acting was impeccable and on spot. You will need subtitles for the first two episodes.

Daniel Allen he's American to their knowledge, and it's not like the gun screams Nazi when you look at it, it's just the gun they chose to use. Who said he needed to hide it? Having a gun on your property is legal in America. It's really not that deep. How do you ever have fun in life when you over analyse absolutely everything?

what really makes this scene is his body language before shooting less anger and more irritation that he now has to kill everyone.

I love how this isn't even a reveal at the end of an episode. This is literally how the show starts. Was hooked from this scene.

How did I not know about this show? Being a veteran and having three generations in the war before me, i find this extremely entertaining. Imma have ro watch this on Amazon now.

I love the 'sensitive decision' not to show the kids being killed, just their blood in the water, while it's perfectly OK apparently to show the massacre of five helpless people.
