No matter how long you’ve been fishing you can always learn something new from someone. First time hearing about a Pistol Pete. Thanks for sharing.

missed two important points. narrow end of bubble to rod--always. Can add water to bubble for longer casting. Used bubble for years. Deadly.

Yes I agree! In the demonstration the narrow end is facing the rod probably didn’t show it well. I don’t normally put water in it because I can cast it really far with it being empty. But those bubbles are deadly!

I have used these with my fly rods for 20 years ....no bubble needed ...just cast them and swing em in the currant like a streamer fly ....they work great !

He might be referring to spinning reel rod setups, I plan on doing this because I’ve heard about tremendous bites and results about this fly and bubble rig

They used to make a rooster tail that was similar to a pistol pete fly . I used to buy and use them all the time .

Pulling off the top clear part is better more grip. Also with that bobber you can cast if either way if you add water to it thick side down for further distance. ( love those bobbers thought I’d add my 2 cents )

One thing I learned when using this setup. Always take the tension off of the rubber band after fishing. If you leave it tightened up inside your car the heat will virtually destroy the rubber band

Yes I totally agree! That rubber band does wear out faster then I like

What I always buy at Walmart is Joe's Flies, they work good for any kind of fish.

@@lastcastoutdoors I'm from Arizona, and I'll make the drive to the Uintas. And fish some of those lakes with Joe's Flies and Kastmasters.

Hi thanks for the video, what is the purpose of the float? Do you use this setup for trolling? Thanks again Mike

It helps to get the fly further out onto the water and also helps act as an indicator when you get a bite. I always use this setup fishing on the bank. I hope this helps

It's not a bobber. It's used to cast flies not an indicator. It is on correctly
