I've been fishing for 50 years or so and you are correct I fish the same way, my dad took us fishing all the time.l really miss those days. We would go down to the river at night and catch soft shell crabs and in the morning get into an old rowboat and fish all morning. I love you Dad! Miss him a lot.

Mate,I did a lot of trout fishing in Australia in NSW,mainly around the Blue Mountains Canberra and Victoria area.Biggest trout I caught was a Rainbow Trout at 14lb which is a decent trout, biggest Brown caught in that same spot was a 21lb and my best eating trout I caught was a Brook trout, I used Spinners to suit and mimmick the insects that are around that area, black blade spinners for crickets, green blade for grasshoppers and gold or silver blades for beetles.love trout fishing.

After watching many of your videos, I think this is the first I’ve seen where you added weight to a spinner setup. Glad to see it! I do that all the time when fishing them in lakes and rivers, trout, salmon, steelhead, etc. I use a snap swivel and pencil lead with the snap end toward the mainline to allow the barrel to spin freely with the leader. Works pretty well from my experience!

Excellent video. You have great advice and I can tell you're proficient at trout fishing. The trout lake I've fished is known for big trout. I've had to use medium bass gear for the trout in that lake. Medium casting rod, baitcaster with 12# line and my go to is a Mepps#3 Aglia gold/brown. Sometimes the silver/brown is what they want. That lake has held the last few Kansas state records for Rainbow Trout and I believe the current state record is still 15# unless it's been beat in the last few years. Again, great video. I’ve been consuming this content like crazy lately. Best fishing channel on KZread IMHO. I’ve watched this one 3 times and even taken notes. My wife and I received some of her Grandpa’s fishing gear when he passed. He was a very serious fisherman just wish I had had opportunity to go out with him. Anyway he had what I think are called Buzz Bombs and I don’t think I’ve seen you do a tutorial on how to fish those. Thanks.

Good video; thanks! This old Teacher can't help but point out that a 45 degree angle is one foot down for one foot back. So, if you want it 15 feet down and 50 feet back, you are looking at 25 to 30 degrees. I will try my luck tomorrow trolling with a small motor in an old iron ore mine pit that is 400 feet deep with the line out 200 feet.
