something you didn't mention unless I missed it, is you have to turn the iD setting off to get it to work

Figured this out on my own a little while ago, I had that charger for a month before I actually bluetoothed it, and I was like, got the adapter, I wonder... Sure enough! Tks for putting that out nonetheless my favorite charger as well and my dynamite doesnt have storage charge so now I can properly store all my lipos. Can you show us how to rig up an id connector so the app doesn’t need to be used to start charging a non Traxxas lipo?

There are some solid yellow one piece xt-60 to trx conectors i use for my id charger and rustler 4x4 vxl connector. They are better than those with skinny wires which maybe are ok for charging but not for running.

This is how I charge my batteries. It’s pretty common for people to just ditch the ez peaks because they don’t know how to do this! On the plus you hold the start and charge rate selector button!

There are videos explaining (at least trying to) charge HRB batteries (already have the TRX connector on them) without using the charger Bluetooth app) They do not work. When using the information you shared about the app, THEY CHARGE AND WORK AMAZING. Thanks for your help and this video. All the other videos out there just showed tricking the charger, it did not trick anything. AGAIN the HRB batteries come with either the TRX adapter and balancer or you can buy them with the other one (forget what they are called at the moment) That way you do not have to build the little adapter thing you explained at the beginning of your video

do you recommend removing the servo saver and going with a metal horn? i upgraded my rustler vxl with a savoy servo and heard servo savers aren't needed.

Matt Jackson on a rustler its ok. I took the servo saver out of one of my slash 4x4s also. So long you are running a metal gear servo the plastic in the suspension should give enough to avoid stripping the servo gears.

I wish i would have bought that charger instead of the Traxxas EZ Peak Plus. Its good charger but that one can’t charge 4s. And The Traxxas EZ Peak Live Dual can.

It shows in the instructions how to charge in manual mode

I've got XT90 males to traxxas female. 3 of them off amazon for $5.

Are you using android or iPhone? For some reason I can't get it to work from my android but works thru my friends iPad on his 🤔

I have a galaxy 8+ and had problems forever, almost sold the link module. Well I don't know who/what/why, but I recently revisited this, and got it to work as long as my bluetooth AND location are on. I also make sure I have whatever I'm going to link to( charger or truck) powered on first, then open the app. Hope this helps.

​@Whits' rcleftovers Had the same issue years ago when I purchased my Dual EZ Peak using my Galaxy Fold. Was so pissed I had spent $200 on a charger that "didn't work" Even got into a shouting match over the phone with the local hobby shop owner that sold it to me and would not refund my money. Luckily I came across a KZread vid describing how to set it up using an android phone and it worked like a charm.. Just make sure your bluetooth and location are turned on and happy charging!

The ezpeak plus & live chargers will charge any lipo as long as its within the 3s or under for ezpeak & 4a & under for the live, but with the live charger you have to use the app to charge non traxxas batteries or it won't let you... think it's a safety for kids

Don’t think any further. Always charge at 1C. Never more. Do you really need it done in 30minutes at 2C? Can’t you plan an hour ahead and charge at 1C? Yes.

Best practice is to charge at 1c. A lot of racers charge as fast as we can with the belief that it lowers the resistance. In stock racing you will see a bunch of guys charging at 40amps! The batteries are approved for it but its still sketchy. Hahaha.

jacoob ramsay yes... but i recommend you stick with 20%. If you go to 33%, richen the high speed needle a quarter turn (3 hours) before you fire it up.

Negative 3hours is the lingo used when telling someone how much to adjust your needles on your engine. Turn the high speed needle a quarter turn counter clockwise is the same as “richen the engine 3 hours”

I will do a tech tuesday next tuesday to explain. Disregard the 3 hour statement. Just richen the high speed needle a quarter turn before running it on 33% to be safe.

Fair warning those are knock off plugs. You can tell by the way the plastic feels/ looks.

My local (swiss) rc shop sells own traxxas non id lipos! I got some and charge them on my dual ez peak!

I’ve been doing this for years. I tried telling people on reddit but got downvoted like crazy and told it doesn’t work LOL If you use a Traxxas ID connector with the balance leads integrated you can make an adapter to plug directly into the ID port without using the separate balance port behind that little door.

Just to let you know it's not a wheel wrench it's more of a socket
