Well Sir, Before the hack. You was able to charge just fine through the balance port ... Just with current restrictions for anything past 1.0 amp charge rate . But Now Sir. You have shown how to disassemble , reassemble correctly . With big charge wires , so that way the pack can be charged at any rate it needs to be . Awesome job Sir.

so can I use this charge adapter setup on my traxxas 3s and 4s batteries? I want to do that same setup because my traxxas charger will not charge one of my 4s 5000 batteries because a cell is out of balance and ive had to charge it on ni-cad setting really slowly on the normal charger. I like this setup its definitely what I need to do.

I bought some hoovo batteries today and idk if it will work on a traxxas charger. I've seen people not able to balance charge them. Is there any way I could balance charge them?

What brand solder iron you use?

You can buy an adapter on Amazon a sit for like $10 plug it into your battery and it gives you a standard TRX connector with a separate balance lead plug this to your charger balance leads into the balance board in charge like a normal battery

I herd you can only charge on 2 amp if you use this is that true !?

Brother I bought a Stampede VXL with a Brand New Motor off eBay. But it's got the older 2 pole esc. They said it needed a new shock but the truck doesn't work at all. Could the 4 pole motor cause it to not respond at all? I bought it for my son and he's destroyed. It was $180 with 4amp ez peak plus and a Nimh battery. Can you please help me? Of course Traxxas will only help if I send it in. I'm not new to Rc but it's been about 10-13 yrs since I had my VXL Rustler. Can you please help me?

I was lucky when I got my UDR I bought a pack of six female Traxxas plugs and the adapter, I worked out the hack because I have a Dynamite ac/dc quad charger/balancer/discharger, I have got the basic Traxxas charger but dont use it much, I will be sparing using the female connector's if they are not available although a few RC store's here in the UK still have them for sale. I am surprised you have not got the UDR I really think you would enjoy it as it is a dfrivers vehicle, takes finess to drive it and not constantly grip roling it, it does need the upgrade rear springs I have also added the GPM rezzie's for more consistant handling keeping the oil cooler.

Would this work for a 2s Traxxas lipo too?

Could you make and sell some of those I'd love to be able to leave my new electronics systems stock with the Traxxas connectors still on it I mean I know how to solder but it's a pain in the butt I hate switching everything to deans every time I get a new Rc car.

Mark, yesterday I wanted to drive my Slash. I had it's 3s Traxxas battery in storage charge. My Traxxas e z peak charger wouldn't read it so, I tried 3 other batteries that were also in storage. The same thing. What do you think? Please let me know. Thanks.

Depending how long they sat they could have dropped below 3v per cell.

Can someone tell me why my 2amp 7.2 v car charger from traxxas is reading green for about 10 sec and then starts flashing red after hooked to charger

A dead battery that wont take a charge you can trick it by charging as a NIMH for five mins and then charge it as a lipo. Brings it back. Especially if you know the battery should be fine

Instead, Can u actually pop the balance lead out from the battery side or just separate all of it and resolder like the regular battery with deans/xt60 and balance connector..😁

The only down side to that is your battery warranty gets voided.... which really isnt a big deal. I thought about trying what you did... hahaha!

Can you charge any MAH lipo at any rate? I have a 4s 6000 and I balance charge it at 6000mah, my charger can handle up to 10000mah so can I charge the 6000 at 10000?

To charge a 4s at 10amps (10000mah) your charger has to handle at least 150watts, so you may be limited by the charger. To answer your question though (taking the charger out of the picture) as long as your battery is rated to charge at 2C or above, yes you can charge at 10amps.

Hello. I like the video. I wanted to know you know how to charge a Traxxas Nimh battery with a regular charger ( meaning, not a Traxxas charger). The battery is 8.4 7 cell and my charger is a Hitec X1 Ac plus. Does anyone know??? Thank you

Turn my recollection you don't need a balance lead for those so if you can get ahold of the male Traxxas connector and with the bullets it should be fine though I haven't been able to verify that myself but considering it's a NiMH it should work

It’s funny that people generally think of traxxas as being high end, which I think mechanically it is,,,, but their electronics are a literal lie.

It is more satisfying to gather dead ESCs, motors, and batteries from others, then start hacking away to make your own stuff.

The Model number is 3607 I believe it was made in 2015

See, this is why I'm on the fence about getting a Traxxas. I was about to buy an Erevo...but it needs Traxxas battery and charger, which would be more money. Geez

Traxxas is like the apple of rc's for this one .that's exactly y I stay away from Apple love the video I'll remember to not buy those batteries

My question is. If traxxas wanted that batttery pack charged with balancing plugs than why does it not come with balancing plugs from the factory?

Because they are simply a rip off mate and they know they have most sucked in, especially the younger generation.

The fact that a traxxas chargers doesn't have a solution for a very dead battery made me throw away a charger that was fine. Ridiculously bad.

its the same reason they buy companies and then patent a design and they sue heaps of other brands that have that same design. They for sure rip people off, especially in the quality vs price department traxxas quality is absolute crap, theres a reason they provide thier own "hop ups" it saves them testing stronger designs when they can draw up an alloy version an sell it too. Arrma's 3s and 4s line put traxxas stuff to shame quality an design wise. One thing traxxas has and why it does so well is everywhere is same price and parts support is huge and everywhere - they also have good deals with hobbystores so they can have displays of the cars at no cost.

better method , buy none traxxas batteries.

They have an all in one balance/charger lead for those now. Just fyi!

Yeah. Too much work. Just cut the Traxxas connector off and use your own connectors. Yes it void your warranty but eh...
