The last charger you will ever need | ToolkitRC Q6AC

The ToolkitRC Q6AC might be the last LiPo charger you will even need. And I mean it. The Q6AC is a real behemoth of a charger.
- 4 Channels, with full power of
- DC 1200W/AC 400W, Max 15A*4CH
- XT60/XT30 output compatible
- PD 65W fast charging
- Wireless charging
- USB-A fast charging 30W
If to find any downsides of this charger, it’s for sure, not a mobile one. But after all, either it has everything and then some more, or is small and light. This one is not small and not light for sure!

Hi Pawel @FPVUniversity and thanks for another insightful review. You did not mention about the balance current being 800mA. That's half the one of a HOTA D6 Pro. On the paper, charging the same battery at the same current would make the Q6AC much slower. Did I miss something here? Thanks and keep up the great job!

The Isdt K4 is smaller with the same output ratings AND supports 8s & 1.5A Balance current compared to 6s & 0.8 of the q6ac.. Does this make a huge difference in reality?? But it doesn't offer wireless charging and 65w pd, only 10w pd

More than 6S charging is one feature I'd really appreciate with chargers like this. I use 8S a lot (not for FPV multicopters, but larger fixed wing). It can be, for example, to add two 6S channels together to get one 12S channel (you'd need adapter cables or boards, but that's not a problem to put up with if you need such features). I would necessitate clever electronics design, but it can be done.

I fly everything with 1800mAh 4S packs (or multiples of those packs). With this charger I could parallel charge 4 packs per channel, so a total of 16 packs at once, charging at 2C current. That’s pretty impressive. But… man those parallel boards and packs would take up a ton of space on the bench, haha.

I have a mix of ISDT, ToolkitRC, and hota chargers. I use the ToolkitRC M6D the most out of all of them. That was until the other day at least... I've never had any issues with their products but the other day I was charging a 6S 1,200 pack and when I realized it had been charging for longer than I expected, I took a look and noticed 5 out of the 6 cells were at 4.3 almost 4.4 volts. I've continued to use that charger under direct supervision and haven't had that issue again, but I'm scared to use it. I'll pass on Toolkit.

@@michaelkryszak5262 I’ve had the opposite happen, meaning my M4Q tried to charge 4S to 6S voltage, just out of the blue. Luckily I caught it in time before it burned my house down, but it continued to do this on subsequent attempts, therefore I’ve thrown it out. This clearly tells me there’s a clear lack of quality control and/or failure mode evaluation. That lack has been well known on their hardware, but apparently same goes for software/firmware, making any endeavor with their products way more risky than it should be. Needless to say ToolkitRC will never enter my house again.

I use ISTD Q6 NANO. Cheap, can update firmware through USB, 6S and up to 200W charging, which is honestly a lot for such a tiny charger. It was so good I just bought a second one instead of a bigger one. At 12V it is only 100W but that is still more than enough charging speed.

Its just fantastic and also has QI charging, what more could somebody want? WiFi? No! Never leave ur batts unnatended. App connectivity would only encourage bad habits.

the ultra power up9 has only 100W on ac. If that is enough for you thats good, but you are limited to 25W per output (if you use all four) which is only 1.12A on 4 6S batteries (MAX). I’m charging 3000mAh 4S LiIon packs at 1C 45W and that charger could only handle two of those. The above charger has 4 times the output on ac and 5 times the output on dc (one kilowatt!) So if that is enough for you, fine. But power-wise it does not compare to this one. Sorry for ranting.

@@dothgaerwenoakblossom15 You Are absolutely right. In my case i fly 3.5' drones and all my batteries are 550mah 6s tattu so I have enough power. I forgot about 100W limit when on ac because I was never limited. On fielld I use 3s 8000maah zee battery as power bank and can even fast charge my little 6s. Up9 is budget friendly and fits my needs, that is why I happy with this charger but you are right. It's not for everybody. Happy flying.

*THIS* sure, you can charge big packs at high amp rates, but if your charger only balances at ~500ma that charge is going to take a real long time to complete. my charging suite consists of 4 ISDT P20 chargers (1.5A balancing current) with 4-way parallel boards on each port. each pair of chargers is fed by a single 1200W 24V PSU. I'll charge anywhere from 8 to 24 packs simultaneously to completion at 1C in about an hour.)

i personally modify my own chargers so that they are whisper silent (changing the fan to a noctua one) my dream charger would be a Q4 charger with only 150-200W AC and a noctua fan! all those AC chargers are just too big and heavy! the ToolkitRC Q6AC beeing 1,2kg .. i personally love the small ToolkitRC M6D with a 65w type c baseus charger and a type-c to xt-60 cable - really small and light package charging 6S 1300mAh batteries i need about 30w per channel, so a quad charger with about 150w would be awesome! edit: or something like the skyrc G630 Charging Hub would be incredible! with this the charger would charge one battery after the other on a "parellel board"!? too bad this system only works with a really bulky old charger ..

you can't just change the fan to low rpm like noctua and expect the charger to have the same reliability the noctua is quiet because it's low rpm but also low cfm compared to the stock fan so it will not have the same cooling performance the charger would have to be designed for a low rpm/low cfm fan...or designed to use a bigger fan by having bigger heatsinks, more powerful power stages that do not get so hot etc it's lame to have two 40mm fans in 2024, we have 2000w PC PSUs with 140mm fan that would be a lot quieter and even 1000w PSUs completely passive
