Try a one shoulder one? I want to buy the Shona joy one she wears in the video. It's over $100 though but I'm gonna save up for it. I rarely wear tank tops but the most flattering one is black and has wider width straps (at least one inch) with a frill along the edges with a tear drop type neckline.

@@em84c yes, $140 is absolutely too much to spend on a tank top!!! Cuyana has this exact style and it’s cheaper, though I admit it’s still too expensive for me so I don’t own it. I’m still looking for one like this! Shona Joy isn’t even focused on sustainability, etc. - in other words, you’re literally paying $140 for a shirt that cost them $15 to design and produce.

I felt a lot better about those when I learned that there is a common plastic surgery that removes them. Like we would see them on a lot more bodies media if they couldn't pay to get rid of em.

I'm kinda late to this comment section, but I FINALLY found tank tops I love that I feel SO confident in and they come in like 21 colors or so. They are on Express, and I think right now they are $24! I am an hourglass but I DEF have broad shoulders. Let me find the name of the tank top, hang on.....

For the longest time in my life, I've hated my broad shoulders. It's now that I actually am trying to embrace them. I am glad this popped up in my recommendations. Thanks a ton!

broad shoulders make me feel huge and so dysmorphic in certain clothing . thank you so much :)

I find this extra challenging because I have broad shoulders and no boobs, so I always have to try to balance the width from the front as well as from the side. I've found that T-shirts that fit the shoulders, are slightly loose with a nice drape, and still taper in the waist look best on me.

Same! I have the hourglass body shape with broad shoulders and hips but a very small chest, so I don't really know which celebrity or model to look at style wise. This video helps me, though!

This video definitely helped me feel better about my shoulders. I always thought mine were ugly/manly but after seeing someone as pretty as you absolutely rock them with just the tiniest differences in style choice it really helped me not feel doomed by mine. I didn't realize how much my choices in cuts & styles were the actual cause of my dislike in my shoulders and not my actual frame.

I think the type of styling you do is actually very consistent with the recommendations for Kibbe soft natural body type. I love it! The soft natural body “type” lends itself to exactly what you mentioned in this video ❤️🙌🏼

She's prob more a soft natural but I have broad shoulders and I'm a flamboyant gamine (the dramatic side of me gives the shoulders)!

I've found that sweetheart necklines really suits my broad shoulders, compliment my tiny chest area and makes me look and feel more feminine. :)

Hi Gemary, I've a very similar body, broad shoulders, small waist big hips and thighs. If you've ever heard of the Kibbe body system I think it' s the soft natural body type. For years I struggled with my body type, I look like and hourglass but I have a small bust, but yet I'm not an inverted triangle cos I have big hips.

You're hourglass. It's funny because at certain point nobody likes their own body. I've felt for years that there's certain privilege for some body types and i think hourglass is one of the most loved. Good luck, finding a way of loving ourselves is really hard but self love is the first and only love :)

Pretty sure you r an hourglass if you hips are the same length and your shoulders. Measuring the bust is not reliable since it can change with weight.

You're technically considered a broad shouldered pear, I believe! But I have similar proportions and I can pull off more "hourglass" outfits bc my shoulders balance my hips out more

@@YGhappyvirus yep I often wondered was I a pear, but the shoulders throw me. Then I wonder am I am hourglass but the lack of boobs, broad shoulders throw me. I'm also quite toned/athletic looking whereas when I think hourglass I think of softer bodies...

I love these videos. There's so few videos that do a good job helping to style us gals with broad shoulders. Everything tells you to cover them up or draw attention elsewhere.

Your last video on broad shoulders & the styling mistakes video completely changed the way I shop, especially pants. I gained a little weight in quarantine, especially on the lower half of my body, so I needed some new clothes. Before that, I had an hourglass figure but slimmer, yet pants, that most girls wear never really fit me well, they were tight on my thighs every time and looked unflattering. Baggy, especially straight-cut pants, were so out of my comfort zone, but you inspired me to try them out and I now I feel great in my body again. I’ve begun to like my figure and my womanly curves again. So I thank you for that video and can’t wait to watch this one 🤍

I just found your videos and I am in love! I am a “typical” triangle but not a true triangle. I have a more athletic body with a butt and a waist but very broad shoulders. And I just love that your tips. You really show off the shoulders but in the right way !

i just discovered this channel and i love it already! i never understood my body type until i came across your channel. the hourglass x inverted triangle body type is a little rare that’s why i find it so hard to style. but with your videos, i think i can finally nail my outfits! thank you so much for this and i hope you make more videos like this. i also suggest modest outfits or outfits that don’t break the dress code bc i’m still in college and my uni doesn’t allow me to look cute🙄

I have broad shoulders and was surprised by my favorite neckline for them. I thought it was best to cover them up, but I've found halters look phenomenal, but only when it's a straight line from my armpit to the neck connection. I keep looking for more tops like this, but I think they were left in the early 2000s (which I guess is thankfully coming back in style?)

I personally love the way the halter top looks on you plus myself. For some reason that feels like its bringing my shoulders in more and making them look less broad. I just love the look so much. To each their own!

Great reference video for Natural Kibbe types :) I use all these “opening” the shoulder area tricks too as a Flamboyant Natural type- asymmetrical, wide, scooped neck or slim straps are the way to go! Thank you!

I need that k.ngsley strappy tank! This video was so helpful. Most KZreadrs have narrow shoulders. I used to think off shoulder tops don't suit me because I don't have big boobs. Now I realise it's my shoulders. I have soft natural Kibbe body type. I rarely wear tank tops but my fave (which I've redyed black a few times when it gets faded) has a tear drop kind of neckline. People always compliment me when I wear it. I wish this kind of neckline was more common. I want to buy that Joah brown off the shoulder top in Black too. My favourite skirt is one I got from a thrift store that is high waisted and kind of balloons at the hips and then tapers in. It's a mini skirt. It makes sense now why it's flattering because it balances my shoulders. It's another item I have redyed because I can't bring myself to get rid of it when it's worn out (because it's so flattering and hard to find a replacement).

If you sew you can stitch rip it and cut new fabric using the old garment as a pattern and resew a new one thats a copy. If a family member knows how to sew it would also be helpful

@@aurigavega not sure! I've always heard that an hourglass means your bust (not shoulders) is in proportion to your hips! None of this stuff is concrete anyway :)

Go for it. It means your hips and your butt are much bigger than your shoulders so if you wear something that is exposing your shoulders it still will look good and well proportioned. I avoid those styles because I'm inverted triangle :)
