    Hi Nott Nott, An excellent review! I did my share of, "ranting", when I was younger - no doubt! Then I thought, "It is better to light one candle, than to curse the darknes"! Then I started my work, by interviewing ODs who thought that the FIRST MINUS was a terrible thing to do to an innocent child. Because a minus lens causes myopia - in all normal eyes.

    Hi Nott Nott, A major step forward, is that you have a SNELLEN on the wall. I would put a bright light on it for consistent accuracy. Real improvement, will be when you consistently make out letters on the 20/60 line. Since you are truly determined, I would get some low cost -1 and -2 Test Lenses, from Zennioptical.com For about $25. You can accurately judge your refraction, by using them with your Snellen. Obviously, I will never trust an OD measurement again. I must measure myself.

    I already have high prescription and my parents don’t allow me to do research First they don’t trust all these methods and they consider this as even more worsening myopia So I can do only limited research That’s why I ask what I should do to reduce my myopia I’m 14 with -4.5 left eye and -5.25 right Parents don’t allow much research and I need your help in how to reduce *my*opia

    One question, do we have empirical evidence that endmyopias method will actually reduce the axial length of the eyeball? Sure there are many anecdotes that say they reduced from -4.00 to -2.50 for example, but was that change due to axial shortening or something else? If it’s from something then the endmyopia method doesn’t actually target the root of myopia which is axial elongation. The reason most optometrists and ophthalmologists don’t believe in the reduced lens method is solely because there is not empirical evidence that the method reduces axial elongation. If we could get that evidence ASAP there would be no skeptics of endmyopia.

  • @NottNott

    @NottNott

    No evidence whatsoever for Endmyopia shortening axial length, too specific and niche for any studies to have been done. Check out the clinical studies section on the EM Wiki for the third party studies on how weaker lenses may affect axial elongation. It's putting two and two together to say EM probably reduces axial length based on these studies. There's a powerful incentive to hide information like this, I would not expect the optometry industry to publicise this stuff any time soon. Optometrists can easily not bother looking and dismiss it when their entire system and schooling infrastructure etc dismiss it as well.

    Has anyone ever had tomography of there eyes before starting the reduced lens process and then say a year or 2 after? That would demonstrate the change in axial length or any other change due to the process. I would assume there are at least some dedicated investigative folks that would do as much due diligence on their eyes while trying to improve their vision naturally. Getting some hard data on their eyes shouldn’t be that large of an investment.

    Only time I saw an OCT was when my Mom had catarct surgery this year and only reason I discovered this community. As far as I can tell, opthalmalagists, optometrists, opticians strongly view EM aa pseudoscience. But remember thses folks learned from books and conventional knowledge. They simply follow the blueprint. They dont ask the questions. You have to jedi mind trick or do some inception for them to be inspired that maybe their industry is wrong. They are not bad or nefarious, simply but funnily the ones misinformed.

    If you are going to do a rant: Make certain you know what your rant is for and against! Naturally I did my rants. That truly got me "going" But - I was honest about it. Then I asked my critical questions. 1) Do all natural eyes go down, when you place them in a very long-term near environment? 2) Do all natural eyes go down, when you force them to wear a minus lens. (A pure scientific question. ) You can "rant against", those people who reduse to answer these questions for you. You can also ask, "why does everybody refuse to look at a Snellen, when they have low myopia"? My end of rant.
