How to raise stomach acid with gastritis

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Should you raise stomach acid if you have gastritis?
Eventually, yes. Adequate stomach acid is needed for adequate digestion and to prevent the overgrowth of unwanted microbes and pathogens like H Pylori, SIBO, and dysbiosis.
However, if you have gastritis, you must do 2 things first before trying to raise stomach acid or else it will be like adding fuel to a roaring fire!

When I read comments and someone says they healed this or that , sometimes I don't believe it . People doesn't want to help people or they don't have the real answer those who really need help. If I know something , I'll tell someone , I do alot of research on here daily for the last 4 years . I do alot of reading comments. If you know the truth to the answer , then tell the people so they can get themselves heal, so they can help people too . To many secrets going on and not the truth. which is a shame.

Dear Nour, Happy New Year and thank you so much for this excellent content. Thanks to your videos I know what to do now. That makes me so happy. Two doctors simply prescribed me PPIs without any testing and without inquiring about the possible causes. I think low stomach acid due to stress started my gastric troubles. I wish I had a nutritionist like you or a functional doctor with a similar approach here in my country. I wonder if it`s possible to test whether a person makes too little gastric acid? I will look for a H. Pylori test and for a therapist to guide me. Don't hesitate to share if you have a colleague in Belgium you'd recommend. May you have a most wonderful year!

If you’re wondering about an official medical test and diagnosis, a doctor may do an aspiration test where they insert a scope to the stomach and measure acidity and Heidelberg test where you swallow a capsule with a sensor that sends info about the stomach acidity. You can try to request one of these from your doctor. Some people do the homemade baking soda test but it’s not 100% accurate

What do you think about zinc l carnosine? I heard good info about it, to take it before breakfast. Also use of PPi reduces acid , with acid reflux don’t we need acid but we need to just push it below sphinkter, but using ppi reduces overall acid increasing pH ? Finally if u have acid reflux and slight gastritis can u take b complex or will it be too strong on stomach? But I hear lots about zinc l Carnosine lately

Low stomach acid doesn't trigger the LES valve to close. That allows stomach acid (to leak up into the esophagus). Even though it's weak it will burn up there, especially with repeated exposures. Hence low acid causes GERD / gastritis directly. It also allows the stomach protective lining to break down, especially with the aid of H. pylori and some other bacteria which get to proliferate under low acid conditions.

My 16 daughter has exactly the same problem: nausea in the morning. I sympathize what you are going through; we are experiencing the same. My day is taking HCL… it is helping. We just consulted a Naturopath Doctor (ND) yesterday and went through historical events. The ND suspected that her micro biome was affected 2 years ago when my daughter had extended use of antibiotics for her acne. The dose was very high according to every physicians we consulted. My daughter will have two tests to validate her condition. The explanation was antibiotic may cause imbalance in the types of bacteria. This may cause her stomach to produce less enzymes for digestion, less acid, causing nausea. Let’s me know if you wish to learn more about our journey. Would gladly share what we learn in the next few weeks. FYI my daughter had a brain MRI confirming that she does not have an issue from the brain triggering nausea: she also had a stomach endoscopy, no issue as well. Th ND assessment is logical but we don’t know if the upcoming treatment will help

You need to eradicate the H Pylori first, this is an important first step. Triple therapy (antibiotics) is the standard approach to kill the H Pylori but there are also many natural remedies that can certainly help in the eradication process. Worth speaking to a GI Doctor and doing your own research about the pros and cons of triple therapy. If you do use triple therapy, to help prevent antibiotic associated diarrhea my personal preference is to get patients to take Florastor probiotics with the regime as it help maintain some good gut bacteria during the eradication process.

Just seeing this question. I don’t think a lot acid diet is enough to heal gastritis. It’s important to test for H pylori (watch my videos on H pylori- many people are told they don’t have it when they do). Look for root causes of gastritis and you need food and supplements that target healing the stomach lining. PPIs are supposed to be a short term solution for an acute problem but they will worsen digestion long term. This kind of process is exactly what I help my private clients with.. please book an assessment session to discuss more nourzibdeh.com/getstarted/

Great info thank you I have had reflux a long time ulcers sore thoat floating poos I found going to the doctor's did nothing to help me as the just gave me antacids which made things worse so I put myself on apple cider vinegar and HCl digestive enzymes at first this hurt the ulcers the I noticed my poos were not floating anymore which was a good sign showing the fats were no being broken down but I was still in so much pain with the ulcers it was a kill the problem or die thing by now I didn't care anymore I tried cabbage juice which stared to help me I did not have to make myself sick anymore to release the bloated pressure in my stomach so I tried slippery elm witch seemed to reduce the reflux I've had h pylori killed in the past and I did not want to kill my immune system again so I increased apple cider vinegar and greens and digestive enzymes I have no pain in my stomach or bloating or reflux but not I left wit a sore throat that never gets any worse but never goes away I don't want antibiotics as it will start stomach problems up again after treatment any help would be great thank you martin aged 62 years

Hello Mrs Nour, I have chronic gastritis for 2 years as far as I know because of the bile in the stomach. ( Helicobacter pylori not seen on endoscopy two times) I have been using Dgl, chamomile tea, ginger tea for the last 1 year and finally I added quercetin a few days ago and I feel much better. My problem is that I have a feeling of tightness in my stomach and I have trouble breathing but I feel better after quercetin. what else can you suggest me.? Greetings From Türkiye

Hi,.. it's not possible for me to give medical advice or suggestions here. It's possible that you're not digesting your food properly and may benefit from digestive enzymes and breathing/meditation to stimulate digestion. Watch my videos on H Pylori. I test my patients using stool testing, and many times, the stool test can catch the H Pylori even in patients who had an endoscopy and were told there was no H Pylori found.

Yes this is a tricky one because it can be a vicious cycle… I understand Healing the inflammation and or ulcers need to come first, and raising stomach acid is essential to get everything back and balance with the overgrowth of non-beneficial organisms. but why must someone wait to raise stomach acid after getting the inflammation down if they still have H. pylori? Wouldn’t the stomach acid on its own minimize the population of H. pylori and get it under control?

Maam, thank you, the irony of fact is that no doctors goes to the CAUSE, first thing they do is prescribe PPIs. Mine H Pylori is 30 years back. It was not cured, stomach pain, antral gastritis, was a permanent feature but even today I have it and realised it. Most probably, H Pylori is buried deep within stomach lining, even today i have pain in the stomach when i eat spicy. Did endoscopy more than 10 times. No doctors took biopsy even after informing. Most doctors think they are the EXPERTS but for me they are just stupids with 6 to 10 years of medical knowledge.
