    _The first thing you ought to do is ask yourself: What is the definition of punching? Answer: It's the production of holes against an external belt. Then, position yourself so as to have your weight on the punch, securing it; and then use a sharp blow of the hammer to DRAHVE it through._

    It sure does help! Since I’ve lost weight, my current belt is now too big, and now I know what to do. Thank you.

    Rip I find my 9mm glock works great for larger pronged belts. My 22 revolver works great on smaller belts.

    Point taken but for a lot of folks a quality belt is a good sized investment, a day's pay for many. And tbh I'm the type that would use the first nail or knife I could find and be surprised that it ruins the belt. I like these videos.

    So.......Rip.......How do YOU get the plug of leather out of the punch?

  • @pbp6741

    @pbp6741

    3 жыл бұрын

    While this question seems to be directed at only Mr Rippetoe for anyone else with the same question: The punch has a cutout on the side above the cutting surface. Successive plugs push their predecessors upward until they fall out of the cutout. It’s not a big deal because the punch widens as plugs get pushed up the cutting surface resulting in reduced friction as they climb.

    Rip is so unfit that after tapping the punch several times he is loudly puffing and huffing (you can hear it). I think he should get of his high horse and do cardio.
