I agree with what he’s saying. He’s saying why the hell did they switch to a hex bar and call it a deadlift. Yes that is insulting tbh. I have both a barbell and hex bar. By no means do I think the hex bar can replace my barbell. But what the hex does good is sports specific training or if you wanna train explosiveness.

Gave my coworker the blue book around this time last year told him to keep it as long as he needed. He began flipping the pages pointing out some of the things he's heard me talk about even said "wow he went into alot of detail" handed the book back to me a few minutes later (it was like he was doing me a favor by feigning interest)😂. He's was complaining about back pain then and the last few months its been hip and back. I haven't said a word about ss to him since he have me the book back. He hasn't been to the gym once and hasn't touched a barbell now begging the doctors to see him so he can schedule surgey as the pain has become unbearable. 😢 i told him when i gave him the book that i had back pain since i was in high school all the way until i was 37 when i found ss.

In powerlifting’strength training’it DOES NOT matter what you weigh or how you look,it’s about how much WEIGHT you can LIFT! If this kid is REALLY lifting the weights he’s talking about,it’s damm good. I usually agree with Mark, but Not on this one.

I saw a pod cast with Pavel Tatsouline. He said when strength training, you need a minimum of 5 minutes between sets and up to 15 minutes. Even when training with sub maximal weights, you need more rest than you think you do.

His legs are to close to the bar in the standing position, they need to be a inch from the bar, then when you go down your legs move forward and the second your shins touch the bar that’s your position, don’t drop your hips anymore, chest up and push belly into thighs 💪🏻 thank me later

If West Point College football players can lift weights in 2024, what about regular Army soldiers? Arthur Jones, of Nautilus did a similar test with West Point football players in the early 70s.

FYI, I am 67 male, been active in exercising since teenager years (mostly karate). I have Hypothyroidism since my early 20's so I have kept my calorie in take around 1500/day (Height 5.4). Few years back I was running 40miles/wk which included a10 mile Saturday's @ 1500 cals/day and not loose weight. This year I have change to resistance training 7 days/wk and been increasing my weight for bench, squat, dead-lift, (most of my secondary lifts) by 5lbs/month. I will be achieving the 2 plate challenge (225lb) by end of year for all exercises. I change my warmup and work-set to your beginners model. Thank you for your excellent info!!! PS: Is there any strength coaches in the Rochester, NY area, I can not travel.

I think its now widely accepted that doing reps within 2-3 rir (reps in reserve) will produce decent results going anywhere from 8 - 18 reps or higher, doesnt have to be fives ! But of course its good to mix things up and do some low heavy rep stuff now and again, of course im only speaking for the average gym guy

Olympic lifters routinely do pulls from the floor as part of their training. They don't use the word "deadlift;" they tend to use the phrases "clean pull" or "snatch pull" depending on the grip. But that is essentially what they're doing.

Working in the Swedish Military I barely know an officer who can perform a squat the right way. But we do “murph” every year, like a “funny thing” for some reason. No one knows why and it’s an awful workout IMO. And the strength fitness test isn’t testing strength in any way which is ironic in itself.

First you have to tear muscle. You know you did a good workout if u sorr next day. Uf you are extra sorr that means u went extra beast mode. You should feel proud of ines self for going hard. In California we always go hard. We do everything hard. Cali have alot of gym. I know you are into the cross fit stuffs i seen the old videos. Thats whats up .....i be doing that to but i mak my own change to it. im a coach too and taking clients now. I been training 3 years already so u know i know a ting or 2 bout dis stuff. Im about keeping it professional. Its all bout the proffessinality with things. I train people get stronger but not to strong. Not power lifts but general strenffth train okay. We can all learn from each utter u kno. Maybe i might have to cum over there to texas semi nar and learn from the best. do you have any gyms in cali yet?? You gonna make a killing in cali bruh hella people be lifting stuff out here on no lie thats on my momma kids

Hmmmm not sure how i feel about this. Being stronger isn't better nessa celery otay ??? Hmmm 🤔 im from cali and we understand it haves to do wit da cardiho more portand than allnda power lifts and all dat. Boxing mma jumpin the hope for the cardiho. Most people dont need to slget strong at all they need loose fat and need to just run da fat off. Yhey can get stronger after that but just not too strong but they have to cut fat first and then go into the bulk mode. Im taking clients currently

Hey guys. Way back in about 2000 I read a Sci-fi thriller by John Ringo called A Hymn Before Battle. Great book, but I only bring it up because the main character had the same trouble with one of his superiors. John was a golf War vet so presumably there’s been at least a few people trying to fix this all this time.
