Thanks! I am trying to make a studded wristband for punk shows, don't know anything about leather working and could NOT find decent instruction anywhere so I searched for how to make a belt. This was perfect for figuring out how to do it.

Try this. Punch holes at 3/4" measurements & punch 9 holes. It comes out 6 3/4" of hole adjustment instead of 5" & is a little more comfortable for the adjusting. Is especially helpful on gun belts when carrying certain style holsters.

Hey Parker, I have seen many vids using the seemingly standard 2 inches over pants size measurement. Thank you so much for confirming that I have not lost my mind as 4 inches further is what I have found to work for me!! Love the motorcycles but love your leatherwork still also.

What I tend to use instead of rivets for belts are Chicago screws, makes it to where I can use different buckles on the same belt, or replace the loop.

This! I ended up giving away a brand new belt because I realized it had rivets rather than Chicago screws and I wear western style buckles. I'm a new leatherworker, but I've already decided if I get into making belts, I'll never use a rivet.

Love your work and passion for the craft. You think you could do a video on the types of needles(point) you use and the size thread for the different pieces you make. I have been trying to find one one YT and can’t. I just got a Sailrite LSZ and want to try to make a few leather pieces. I just don’t know what thread and needle types to get.

Do you always use round holes? I have read and watched alot of videos and some people say oblong holes are better because of movement and stretching. Just wanted your opinion. Thanks love your videos and products

Hey Jason, no not always. I was trying to make this one very simple without showing too many "extra" tools. But yes, I also, have an shorter oblong hole punch for the adjustment holes. I don't notice a huge difference over time but i think it's still worth using if you have it:) Thanks for watching

It seems to me, that for a beginner video, that it might be helpful to show how this could be done with minimal tooling. Perhaps a box cutter, an edger, some edging compound and rivet/rivet tools. You may have all the tools in the video but showing someone getting into the craft $1k of equipment seems counterproductive. Maybe you could show two methods? A minimalist and your fancy tool method.
