What I got from this video is different than other freight broker "experts" recommend to engage the shipping manager in conversation by asking many questions. I see the wisdom in a simple, direct, to-the-point offer for being a back up.
Im starting my cold calling journey tonight, this video has given me the confirmation that i will make it😊 Thank you very much
You are exactly on point. Every time we get a no that puts me one step closer to a yes
Initially when you mention scripts I'm thinking long winded convincing words. The fact that their short cover the purpose and keep it moving for both parties makes it so much more appealing for me. Thank you for this.
Be confident on the cold call, I loved a lot.
"Some will, some wont, so what?" is definitely something Im going to use with girls from now on 😊 Great video, thanks man!💪
I like the mindset of getting the rejection and it's a great content

The intro "I'd like to be a backup option" super helpful, Mentality with rejection and mindset when making the first call. Great stuff.
Keep it simple, don’t ask so many questions.
Oh man, all the info in this video is gold! Very helpful. My number 1 take away is to be fluid in the conversation. Quick, but don’t act like you don’t have time for them and their needs.
Thank you! My authority is less than a week old and hearing the no's has been one of my biggest concerns. But setting a goal on how many no's I want to receive in a day was a game changer.
I'm actually excited to get back on the phone and use these tips. So many people tell me to be brief but they've never given me a clear example and you just did that. Very much appreciated! Thanks, Luis!

Its about tonality and mindset. Thats what helped me the most in this video...
I enjoyed this training very much! I'm watching a million videos before obtaining my authority and so many of them tell me to ask shippers a million questions before asking for the sale and I've always disagreed. I've done sales and rapport can be built by being genuine.
Thank you for this Video also what resonated with me is redirecting their views by adding that we can be a backup option for their services. Thanks again!
Man at first I thought we should not embrace rejection but this video change the way that I was feeling for being rejected

Look at it this way…the sadness of rejection and the happiness of success are two emotions. Your brain is going to feel a certain way but you can consciously decide whether you take pain or pleasure from the reaction. You are well within your abilities to reprogram your thinking to have a positive reaction to any outcome. Positive or negative is up to you. We are not robots lol

What stuck with me was the idea that your calls should be short, direct, and to the point. Don’t make them fall in love, show them you have what they want. The bit about begging being counterproductive stuck out to me as well

I learned that I don’t have to establish an amazing relationship on the very first call

My take way and brillant tip as to do the research before making the call to the company and present yourself as a back up option which sounds great in itself and a workable and acceptable option for the company as well
@freightskills

Yea the research aspect is huge and people have messaged me telling me how wrong I am. the same people message me on all my other videos asking why they haven't gotten any shippers. The back up option is a secret weapon and only the people in the comment section will know I said that lol
Aiming to be rejected 25 times is great. 10 no's led to a sale. Thank you.

Yea the rejection goal is hard to come to terms with but I promise it works. Im glad the summary helped you too!
“some will, some won’t. So what? .. Next.” - best tip.. also. “ Looking to be a second option” = Gold.

The second option gets to eat too :). You can build an entire company to a pretty large size if you are 100 companies backup option.

You can sure, as long as a broker is willing to have an internationally based rep.
My takeaway was getting to the point on the phone & valuing their time by keeping it direct & short. Not asking the questions they get from all the other brokers.

Best thing you can do!
Watching this in 2024, and first off I wanna tell you thank you. Secondly, what stuck out to me was that you aren't trying to have a full blown conversation with them. The goal is to capture an email, to remain in touch with the company's POC. Best of luck new freight brokers!
@freightskills
6 ай бұрын
Yea exactly. It’s going for the easiest “yes”. You nor me are going to say anything that’s going to wow someone at this point. There are too many conversations people have everyday. Just get an email and move on, call again to follow up later
This is good information! My broker MC number just became active as of last week & I’ve noticed a lot of videos I watch they make it seem like you have to give a long spill when talking to shippers.
@freightskills
Жыл бұрын
Yea huge mis information. The more you talk the more the other person on the other end is just shaking their head no. That’s the reality. They get 50-100 calls every day and as a broker we have to accept the reality that there is a very small chance we will “knock their socks off” with an incredible sales pitch. Respect for their time with a concise ask, and that will stand out more than long winded, non genuine sales pitch every day of the week.

@@freightskills Here is another question popped up ... When they ask to send them an email, in most cases they want to get me off the call and rid of me, checked that in practice. At this point, what is it worth to take a little commitment just for a quick follow up call to talk more instead of sending email with my contacts?
What do you say to "We are customer routed, so we don't handle our freight and we love it."
