How to Make Soft Paratha Roti using a Stand Mixer | Trini Buss up Shot Roti
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
As promised, here is the full tutorial on how to knead the flour for paratha in your electric mixer!
Paratha, also know as “buss up shot” is one of the various types of roti ubiquitous in Trinidad. It is called buss up shot because of its texture, appearance and similarity to a torn (burst) t-shirt. Leave it up to a Trini to come up with a name like that.
It is usually the roti of choice served with various vegetables or meat dishes at weddings, religious gatherings(poojas/prayers) and other special occasions. While growing up in Trinidad, it was customary for neighbors to gather before dawn on these occasions to knead hundreds of pounds of flour to make the parathas. Nowadays, it is becoming more customary to “place an order” for the sake of time and convenience instead of continuing this tradition. Let me show you everything you need to know to make soft, flaky and delicious parathas at home!

Such a beautifully explained tutorial. Very few people will explain in detail like this. Nowadays people are more into loud music without any explanation whatsoever. All those details are so very helpful. You are such an inspiration for all Creators. Love your narration so much Ria. Learn so much from you. Thank you.

This roti looks great. Love your kitchen appliances. Where can I find the exact Tawa? It looks nice and heavy, and cooked the roti to perfection
I wrap my roti in a cotton tea towel and buss it up with the rolling pin. No mess on the stove. Then I store in a plastic covered container or my Iron pot to keep warm. Thanks Ria.

Making it at home is so easy and tastes much better(in my opinion). The best part is that you can control the quantity and type of ingredients you use to make it healthier.
Dark.
Please dip it in the Curry
Hi Ria that roti looks very soft and delicious but unfortunately my sister I don’t cook roti because the doctor stopped my husband from rice flour potatoes and almost everything made from flour and my daughter got very sick last Monday and we rushed her to a private hospital nothing wrong with her but they also told her no flour or rice so I don’t cook for them to want I just want to know how’s your daughter going and to you and your family love you all stay safe bye.

Hi Sandra. Wish your family good health. I would suggest no processed foods or ingredients-nothing with chemicals and preservatives. Start reading labels. If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of salt & oil do you use? My daughter is doing great at College, just lots and lots of work. Thanks for asking and take care. Sending love and blessings to you all. 💕🌷
