How To Lower Liver Enzymes Naturally

Ғылым және технология

Are you wondering how to lower your liver enzymes in a more natural way?Maybe you've been dealing with ongoing elevations or steadily increasing liver enzymes, and you're worried about the long-term implications of this. In this video, we're going to look at some basic ways to lower liver enzymes naturally and also look at some supplements and herbs to lower liver enzymes naturally.
Milk Thistle: geni.us/lAZW96p (Amazon Link)
Dandelion / Burdock Blend: geni.us/T07R (Amazon Link)
How to lower liver enzymes naturally.Finding the cause is the most important thing in eliminating that cause directly. This is the most natural way and the best way to lower elevated liver enzymes.
We will discuss some natural treatments that you can take on as well. But first, I wanted to list the most common reasons why people have elevated liver enzymes, so you can correct those and look into those as well.
00:00 Introduction to Lowering Liver Enzymes Naturally
01:30 Understanding Elevated Liver Enzymes: Causes and Effects
02:28 Dietary and Lifestyle Influences on Liver Health
04:17 The Role of Exercise in Liver Enzyme Levels
05:10 Natural Supplements for Liver Health: Milk Thistle and More
06:03 Nutrients and Herbs for Detoxification and Liver Support
08:40 Conclusion and Final Thoughts
One of the most common causes of elevated liver enzymes is non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), also known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). These are kind of the same mechanistic process that's happening, where you have fatty infiltrates or fatty accumulation in your liver. This causes those hepatocytes to burst open and spill into your blood. And then when you do your blood draw, you see elevations in those liver enzymes.
I did a separate video on that and how to look at that. So if you need more details on that, definitely check out that video.
Something surrounding dietary influences of elevated liver enzymes: The next most common influencer, of course, is alcohol. Now, some people are going to process alcohol differently. There are some genetic things that are associated with how you process alcohol. So one or two drinks a night may be causing your liver enzymes to go up, where someone else has one drink right before their test, and that causes their liver enzymes to go up. Other people may be able to have three or four drinks per day, per night and not have an elevation in their liver enzymes.
I've literally seen these different variations in my practice. So how you process the alcohol is important. You can't say, you know, you can't have any alcohol.Because it's going to raise your liver enzymes. Now, of course, alcohol isn't good for you. It is poisonous. It does affect the liver. But just some people have a harder time processing it than others.
The third thing that's kind of an easy thing to eliminate is if you are taking Tylenol on a regular basis. Any kind of over-the-counter pain medication could have Tylenol in it.
Now, the NSAIDs like ibuprofen, Aleve, and aspirin don't typically elevate liver enzymes. They're going to have more of an effect on your stomach and kidneys, but Tylenol definitely does. So, if we're taking any products with Tylenol in it, that might be one place to look as well.Of course, there are many other causes of elevated liver enzymes that you should always try to investigate before you're trying to lower your liver enzymes with a natural product or supplement.
In other words, it's better to remove the cause of the elevated liver enzymes than take a supplement for the rest of your life just to keep your liver enzymes in a normal range.
That being said, it is sometimes hard to find out what the actual cause is. And I usually recommend dietary changes first, as this is the most common reason why people do have elevated liver enzymes. As I alluded to earlier,
There's also the influence of exercise. Now, not all exercise is going to do this. It has to be particularly difficult. Strenuous exercise, intense exercise right before you do your blood tests. And that can raise your liver enzymes as well. But if you're having ongoing elevated liver enzymes and you're not doing strenuous exercise, you're kind of in a routine that's not going to do it.
But there's a separate video on that if you want to check that out as well.
I'll also mention quickly here that it's also important to establish that they actually are elevated regularly, after many, many tests before you go taking something to lower them. Maybe it was just a fluke and the issue with exercise highlights that you need to check multiple times before you go jumping to some conclusion that you have some sort of liver problem when maybe you actually don't.
All right. With all that preambling out of the way, let's look at how to lower liver enzymes naturally. The first option that I want to discuss because I think it is very safe and very effective

I’m a female, 55, post menopause with elevated liver enzymes, ferritin, and trans growth factor beta 1 over the last 12 months. My Vitamin D and Vitamin 12/ Folate have also ran low for years. I suffer with tinnitus for the past 3 years and significant loss hair reduction in density to where my scalp shows all over. I’ve also struggled with insomnia for over 30 years sleeping an average of 4 hrs a night. My dermatologist sent me to have my liver checked and said this needed to get corrected before any treatment started for my hair loss. Abdominal US showed severe infiltration of fatty liver with enlarged liver over 20 cm. Having a fibroscan this week so pending follow up for results. I was drinking a 1-2 glasses of wine several times/week. I stopped completely though for 6 weeks now and stopped eating red meat. I’m hoping these changes help heal my liver which I’ll soon find out.

I constantly have elevated liver enzymes since probably 1-2 years or so now. It's moderately high, in the 60s to 70s and I would never know I had it if it weren't for the medical studies I tried to get into. They do thorough tests on everything, and they constantly ask me for repeat blood tests and it's always slightly elevated. Even though I don't do any strenous exrecise at all, drink coffee or tea at all, or drink alcohol exessively. In fact, I drink very rarely. No daily beer after work or any jokes like that either. Yet constnatly high. Not sure why. But 3 years ago, when I came to the UK, I started drinking tea and I got acid reflux from it, that even now persists and I slightly gained weight, from 70 to 95 kilos, which is pushing it, but it's not like I am morbidly obese. So now I struggle to find the root cause for the issue. Is it the overweight? Potentially. But is losing weight the only way to get rid of the elevated liver symptoms? We shall see. What I am going to try from now on is drink green tea and try some of the recommended herbs. I normally don't believe in herbal medicine, but if there are no alternatives, I'll give it a shot. Also trying to lose weight, but that's difficult if you live a sedentary lifestyle and never find time for the gym because you work 12 hours a day... Would probably the best. Your video helped me understand the options very well, but I am not entirely sure which is the most effective herb presented, they seem work slightly different but I'd like to know which works best, if you can mix them together, and how individual the effect of the medication is

  • @ryanwaguespack3611

    @ryanwaguespack3611

@FatbikerChinoy I feel quite certain reason that your liver enzymes continued to increase was because of the amount of FRUCTOSE that you are putting into your liver by consuming the specific foods you mentioned. Though we may THINK those foods are 'healthy', they contain fructose, and fructose is metabolized in the liver. Historically, I was always real big on fruit, and have learned that we really need to cut back on them because of the high amounts of fructose. Try to focus on dark skin fruit, and especially berries, as they have a much lower glycemic load.... My main point is your score went up because you continued to increase fructose. Fructose is a contributer to liver fat. Lower the fructose intake, and you will get better...... Also, contrary to popular belief, oats are a processed food, and not good for your gut flora. You might want to look up Dr William Davis. He's an authority on this.

Your answer here peaks my interest along this train of though: The GGT score if high can be from what I've read, just sluggish bile, or low bile volume, and I think fatty liver from cholesterol can play a big role, so my question would be this, Would a OMEGA 3 supplement that lowers cholesterol/triglyceride levels in the body, indirectly lower potentially a GGT liver enzyme score because, it means the liver won't work as hard to break down the saturated fat or cholesterol and require less bile?

If you have slightly elevated liver enzymes that indicate liver inflammation but they return to normal and your doctor says your liver is doing well does that mean you never had any liver problems? Can some people like that limit red meat and white bread fried chicken and quit or limit alcohol if their results go back to normal? Some doctors say once the enzymes return to normal that there probably is no underlying problem to be further investigated. Why is that?

  • @swintegrative

I don’t know what your question(s) is/are.. If liver enzymes are normal only after changing the diet then likely they were high bc of the diet. However it could have just been a fluke that they were high. That’s why it’s information to test test test before you make too many changes.

@@swintegrative Youre right but a lot of doctors would say its slightly higher. Why is that? And how come LFTs only show numbers for elevations instead of resulting the cause of liver elevated enzymes? Is it common for many healthy people to get 57? I've been told that 57 means temporary liver inflammation that goes away on its own if you abstain alcohol for 2 weeks and monitor your enzymes is that true? I always have heard 3 different stories on this and I find your videos are helpful.

In my opinion here is what I recommend you do: Take your bloodwork again from two different sources in the same morning. Each company will use there own equipment for processing, for example Private location center's like Qwest and LabCorp both offer similar prices for a packaged metabolic liver panel and full cholesterol panel with your LDL/HDL/Triglycerides/Total Cholesterol: The prices for both should run you apx 53.00 to 65.00, so to do it twice you should budget about 120.00, Of course if your primary Doctor is willing to let you run your labs again, great but you have to decide if double-testing is worth it or not, in my opinion it is: Liver Enzymes are highly volatile at times, in fact if you were to take your liver enzymes and cholesterol testing, at two different processing centers say within 4 hours of each other and have only water to drink between both blood test , and minimize any walking, (ideally going straight from one appointment straight to your next appointment, so your blood is drawn within 1 hour of each other from two different locations) you could get your enzymes have as high as a 25 point swing between say YOUR ALT, and a 15 point swing in your Total Cholesterol, (all within a two hour window !!) I know this for a fact, because I was suspicious of the Quest offices in my area, (I won't go into why) I still use Qwest very frequently, but know this, the entire field of science which try's to look to liver enzymes and cholesterol as markers of a person's health, is not black and white in the least, Having said that when you do get your bloodwork, you need to be very mindful of what you eat and drink a good 24 hours, (not just 12 hours) to 48 hours, do not eat a heavy carb meal , or eat eggs or meat, or butter, (look for fish low in cholesterol, like Tuna packaged in water, or Chicken Breast ) Oatmeal, many fruits, don't have cholesterol in them, you get the idea, the reason why you want to stay away from heavy carb like meals the day before your blood test is because of the newer science which is making the connection between carbohydrates can cause inflammation, and insulin resistance is more closely tied to carbohydrates as a result, (if you must have coffee 24 hours prior, because your addicted to coffee like me ) and you have to have a sweetner look into using the healthier plant based milk and cream alternatives in the form of Macademia Milk (which I'de put at top choice) or OatMilk or a healthy sugar substitute called Monk-Fruit sweetner, which looks like sugar and taste almost the same, (better tasting than Stevia actually and healthier) P.S. Your a little young to have Triglycerides above 150, you really want to change your life and diet to see triglycerides consistently coming down below 125, but you can't know that unless your willing (like I try) to get that tested every 30 days to see what is working and not working, (yes it's expensive in the beginning but this is the only true scientific way of knowing what's going on inside, the standard advice of getting this done 1X a year or even 2X a year is meaningless and bad medical advise now, (our food and water supply is under constant threat and the organic food industry is largely a scam in so many ways, once you look into it a little more deeply) Here are some links for reference: P.S.S. I also take an NAC supplement and drink Dandelion Tea regularly, and have taken Burdock Root in the past, I've had less success with Milk Thistle myself, The NAC supplement I'm taking is specifically to see if it lowers my GGT, (my level was 60, but I've had it under 20 in the past, it moved up quite a bit since it's absolute low 1 year ago, that one in particularly I struggle with myself , more so than my ALT and AST) 1) through this webportal, you order your own bloodwork more cheaply than going to Qwest or LabCorp directly, which is very strange, but I've used this method myself several times hopefully you have both choices available to you in your area, (now everyone does) www.walkinlab.com/ 2) Healthy, Sugar substitute, it looks, cooks and taste almost like regular cane sugar www.amazon.com/Fruit-Sweetener-Allulose-Erythritol-Aftertaste/dp/B0BR4N7C2F/ref=sr_1_5_pp?crid=157G426SN19M0&keywords=monk+fruit&qid=1703223673&sprefix=monk+fruit%2Caps%2C144&sr=8-5 3) www.amazon.com/Milkadamia-Macadamia-Milk-Unsweetened-Vanilla/dp/B07N186D3Z/ref=sr_1_4_f3_0o_wf?crid=864QSS6X9HF2&keywords=milkadamia&qid=1703224084&sprefix=milkadamia%2Caps%2C153&sr=8-4&th=1 4) This was on a Black Friday sale, when I got, it, but overall I think this is still one of the strongest NAC supplements with dosage and quantity for our money, I just hope the quality is good , (they have in business for a long time, but supplement quality is often very hit and miss in what's effective and unfortunately the only way to know this is through expensive monthly bloodwork to track the cause and effect) www.amazon.com/1300mg-NAC-Supplement-N-Acetyl-Cysteine/dp/B0BJFSL1PH/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3QCMXJAKMAK48&keywords=Toniq+NAC&qid=1703224924&sprefix=toniq+nac%2Caps%2C190&sr=8-2 (empty stomach is how it's best absorbed) as I researched NAC more, I found that you can safely take 1800 MG as it's been studied with human trials at over 2000 MG ) I notice a mental focus boost when taking this as many report, just bear with me on any gramatical or punctuation errors, what matters most is the advice, (the best nutritionist and Dr's I've met in life often had english as a 2nd language, so remember to focus on what's being said, not necessarily how well it's being said, in face to face on in written form)

Yes that's too high at your age, it should not be over 30, ideally, but liver enzymes are volatile often times, what you ate 24 to even 48 hours, or what kind of physical activity your doing up to 48 hours can play a role, (being outside in the cold weather shoveling snow for example is not good 12 hours prior) it can throw the results off,
