    Good stuff I own a 2000 LN 167R and I dearly love it! Although that kind of modification is out of the question for me at the moment as I cut firewood in some quiet rugged and inaccessible areas I will be saving this video and quiet possibly doing the same thing when I retire as I am a fan of lowered cars and have not seen to many luxes done here in Australia. So I thank you and encourage you to keep those videos comming. Yours Brendan.

    Right on! I've always wanted a lowered truck growing up but never had the opportunity to build one until now.

    I ended up getting a set, but they didn't fit my torsion bars! So I just ended up modifying the LCA's to work with my original ones:kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZaZ6mbluZafbkbQ.html around 14:35

    I think the c notch goes on the outside of the frame

  • @6thGearGarage

    The outside of the frame is about 2x as thick as the inside, so I think the extra bracing would work best on the inside. I'm not sure though, because they didn't come with instructions.

    The chassis is looking great. Is there a reason why you couldn’t have just put the mini notch plate on from the outside and saved some cutting and grinding?

  • @6thGearGarage

    @6thGearGarage

    I put the plate on the inside because the inside rail of these boxed frames is thinner than the outside. Outside would have been a lot easier, but I like to over engineer/complicate things whenever I can :)

    Mate Adam here from Australia. I did the yellow yn65 resto last year and sent you a link to it. Is there a way to chat to you somewhere? I am planning a crazy build on a rn46 and wanted to see if you could help. Thanks in advance

    So not sure what type of luck your having with that paint combo. I started using Eastwood encapsulator extreme! It’s silver and then a black Eastwood epoxy frame paint. With paint most are actually porus. Epoxy paint are not. Careful some that claim epoxy aren’t full epoxy’s… I still clean the frame as you did I just use the encapsulator just in case for those missing particles of rust that will help grow more rust!

    Thanks, I had applied a POR15 type product called Rustproof MD on the rest of the frame and it's very strong. I'm not that impressed with the spray paint, it scratches just as easily as normal spray paint. I just wanted to get the bare steel covered before it started to oxidize. I'll be spraying the inside of the frame with Fluid Film, which is a lanolin based product that I've had good luck with over the years. And of course, this frame will never see road salt, as long as I own it!
