How to Install Street Edge 3" Lowering Leaf Springs on Toyota Pickup 1979-1988

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today I'm removing the rear axle and factory leaf springs, cleaning and repainting the axle, and reinstalling it along with some 3" lowering leaf springs from Street Edge. The Street Edge leaf springs are a cheaper alternative to the Belltech leafs, and did not bolt on and fit right out of the box. So I'll show how I modified them to make them work. Next time I'll install the Mini-C notch in the frame!

I've got 3" leafs from street edge for a 1996 Hardbody. The rear bushing insert is 2mm larger than the shackle bolt. Tons of play in it. I'm not sure how they've sold so many like this, because I can't be the only one.

Yeah, nothing more frustrating that ordering a part specifically for your truck and have it show up not fitting correctly.

Do you think you’ll ever have an 1989-1995 on your channel? Or Tacoma? Or even T100?!?

I did have an 89 4x4 on the channel, but the truck was so rotted, it was only around for a couple of videos. Then we used the 3.0 and 5speed for another project. Eventually I would like to get more project vehicles on the channel, including some of the newer ones you mentioned. As the channel gets bigger, so will the range of vehicles I'll be wrenching on :D

I probably pushed the bottom edges out a little when trying to stuff the bushing in there the first time.
